International bank... A joke!
Try making an international transfer since May 2020, asking again and again documents that need to be certify by their consulate when you live overseas, which cost money $145 USD...(good business) they don’t even know what they need as they keep asking for documents, and still not fixed the problem.
Very unprofessional, unpleasant service, lack of knowledges, a joke. Never open any account with them. Worst experience ever...problems after problems.
If I could put zero star I would do...cannot wait to close all bank accounts and get the f.... out of here,
Sick of being hassle in queue trying to get me to go to self-serve
I am sick of going into the Queen Street Auckland branch and being asked/grilled while waiting in line what I want. I tell them that I'm waiting for counter service but they try to push you to use the self service. I tell them I need counter service and they keep asking. Its so frustrating. They almost ......you off to the point that you want to take your business elsewhere. They have counter service so what's the issue, do they actually want there staff behind the counter just sitting there all day doing nothing. I have quite a bit of money with Westpac and I'm seriously thinking of taking it all over to TSB Bank as they have much better customer service, both instore and on the phone.

Bloody trash service, I get better service at a 0 star Malaysian hotel. Always down for god knows why and sometimes doesn't even let me log in despite me putting my correct details. Bloody clowns running westpac. Save yourself from a heart attack and don't use this S,hit.

I have always had a bad experience with Westpac whilst on the phone, I'm always being transferred or hung up on during the call, I think they could do better but unfortunately I will be looking else where for bank services.
westpac winter warm-up loan
Applied for the winter warm-up loan on 26th May. Finally came through yesterday - nearly 3 months!! Westpac has messed us around so much with this loan. Pure incompetence. I doubt this is specific to Westpac though- just banks for you?

They never answer calls, never return calls, and take too long to organise finances.
I can only assume they are overwhelmingly understaffed, but I think it's time to look elsewhere.

The absolute worst customer service ever.
I stood in the enquiry line at Whangarei branch for over 30 mins alone and not one of person asked me why I was there or if they could help. They just walked past me when all I wanted was to open an account for my son.
I had to walk to the back of the bank to get someone's attention..Pathetic!!
Then I was told to do it online...WOW!!!! After I asked a week before and was told to come into the bank with proof of residence and ID for my son. And I bank with this bank for years.

Horrible customer service! It took me two months to open a savings account and at I went round circles for simple ID verification.
Very disappointing - Do not recommend this bank if you are looking for a swift and smooth banking experience.

I tried to make a homeloan top up, but got no answer for 6 weeks despite numbers of emails and calls.
Ended up moving my loan to KiwiBank.
Called them @ 1:28pm and they said ETA…
Called them @ 1:28pm and they said ETA wait time for them to call me back was around 25 minutes, it's now 10 o'clock in the evening and have still heard nothing

Westpac needs to sort this app out. It regularly freezes or doesn't let us in. It's been doing this for months.
Lack of guidance
Faiz was appointed to guide me through the maze of a compensation claim. Unfortunately he did not guide me, which left me at a loss to know who he was actually representing - me or the other driver. He didn't take time to outline the procedure and the various stages involved. My claim dragged on for the best part of a year but the final step was hurried through at an alarming rate. I did try and give an update on my injuries but was told it was too late to change anything. Not impressed.

Been on hold for 2 n a half hours I live in the sticks closest bank is a 4 hour drive so can't go in so I rely on calling alot this is bs I hate this bank with its 4 songs they play for you last time I called was on for an hour it's just not good enough and the people are rude

If I could give no stars I would. A bank that doesn’t care about its customers. Unreasonable and a bunch of heavies. Poor overall customer service. Can’t voice loud enough to stay well clear of this bank

Customer service is sub standard more often than not. The banking app is slow and not easy to use, way too many unnecessary clicks required.
The phone service is (aside from studylink) the worst service I've encountered. The menus don't make sense and don't take you where you need to go. They also don't give you the option to go back steps if you push the wrong option.
You're always on hold for an age.
Westpac is so bad. Go to ANZ.
