Their list of dentists is incorrect and I can no longer see my dentist. I really regret using this wretched company and can’t wait to switch back to FloridaBlue.

Medicare drug plans are a joke and Wellcare is no exception. You can't check between pharmacies for prices. Every pharmacy has a different agreement and sometimes it's actually cheaper to pay out of pocket but you have to call around. They have an online tool but it doesn't work. They have the information, they just don't want YOU to have the information. If you chat or call, the only thing they will tell you is which pharmacy is closest to you. You need an advanced degree and a lot of time to not get cheated. Luckily, I got the $0 premium plan which is exactly what it's worth. I had cigna and they weren't any better. Good luck, Seniors. You're going to need it.

Had no idea she even signed up for this trash company! The people don’t listen to you clearly so the information is wrong. She can’t even cancel because this company won’t and is giving the run around. Ridiculous!!
Wellcare has been outstanding
Wellcare has been an outstanding Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. I am so grateful for the low cost, high quality, and good customer service. In particular, Gyjuana was kind, understanding, and effective in helping me with an appeal for a drug that was not part of their formulary.
Utterly Worthless
The website is bad, the customer service is bad I'm quite sure but that is the least of the troubles with Wellcare. In 2026, some generics were moved to tier 3 which means your better off with a discount card. And I do use one. There are popular drugs that are simply not on the formulary. You had better make sure you check the CURRENT formulary before rolling the dice with them. I'm stuck until next year with this horrible company but you shouldn't be.
Poor customer service
Poor customer service. They called at 6 in the morning, left a message asking me to call back without saying what it is about. I am now losing time on the phone while they are trying to find out what the call is about.

I have a Wellcare Classic Medicare Part D pharmacy plan. Every time I call them, I receive contradictory information. A few months ago, I called to see if they covered Amazon Pharmacy Pill Packs. After explaining to the call rep for several minutes, she appeared to know what I was talking about. She finally said yes. Recently, I trusted her word, only to learn that she wasn't accurate. I have a hunch that they are located offshore, which may be part of the disconnect. Not good!
Also, I have pursued prior authorizations and coverage determinations; my doctor had submitted more than one, but they called me yesterday to say they hadn't received the additional references form; therefore, my request was denied. This company clearly is confused and not checking their fax machine. Poor customer service and administration services.

They deny most medications with the reason it’s not in our formulary. They do not acknowledge medical necessity when dealing with physician level reviews. They literally deny care. The minute the new renewal period comes up in October I’m dropping this.
Wellcare denied 2 medications and dragged their feet through reviewing the appeal
Wellcare denied 2 medications prescribed by my doctor. my doctor submitted a prescription for a medication Wellcare would approve. It did not handle my pain and back spasm so an expedited appeal was initiated. One of the 2 medications was then approved but for the other one I was required to try one of 2 other prescriptions instead. Unfortunately by then it was the weekend and I could not reach my doctor for a prescription so have to ride this out over the whole weekend.

Their website does not work well at all. I keep getting re routed and I cannot find a pharmacy, a dentist, or an optomitrist in my area. I have talked with some providers in my area and the say that wellcare is not easy to work with.
I got charged for tier 1 medications that I was told would be 0 copay when I enrolled. So i called about this issue and they said I needed to call whoever enrolled me. I will be switching to a different carrier on Monday.

Worst customer service ever! I'm over here, just trying to get a routine mammogram. I call my insurance company to see who is covered in my area. I literally need to explain that breasts are boobies, and I need a scan because she had no idea what I was talking about when I said mammogram. Then, she asked me, what kind of service was this. I said I don't know, routine? women's health? I was on the phone for over Forty five minutes! She gives me the name of a place. When I call locatation she gave me, Guess what? They don't take our insurance. Thank you so much for wasting my time. Guess I start calling every place in town to see if they take wellcare.

Zero stars is what it should be!!!
Zero stars is actually what it should be rated! This company is very predatory and lied about what they offered for benefits in 2026. Their spendables card said it would go up to $136 a month and said it would continue to roll over from month to month. After the enrollment period ended they tried to say they told everyone in the yearly benefits packet. They lied because it stated it would roll over. They also made it so you have to physically go to the store to use the card. It said online in the packet, like always, but now the only thing you can order online is from them (which charges way more for no name brand crap). They didn't put that in the changes or explicitly list that. They also cut the vision care benefit in half from $400 to $200. They're also trying to avoid paying for my yearly wellness eye exam, which is supposed to be fully covered for $0 yearly and said as much. They do prior authorizations for everything now. Avoid this insurance company at all cost!
Garbage company
Before they approve the medication for me with a coupon from the manufacturer of the company I would only have to pay $60 a month but with well care it’s 10 times the amount. It would be $300 a month at the minimum even after I’ve paid off my deductible. I called up to find out how this is possible and the customer service agent blamed me and said that it’s my fault for signing up for this plan. I don’t understand why I pay for medical insurance if with medical insurance I have to pay 10 times the amount out-of-pocket. It makes zero sense all of these companies should be shut down.

One of Urgent: Quality Control Concerns Regarding Wellcare Supportthe worst customer service…
One of the worst customer service experiences we’ve ever had. After signing up with Wellcare, we started receiving multiple 'ghost' voicemails with no information. Even though we are on autopay, the communication has been relentless and confusing. When we called back, the offshore support was so loud and the language barrier so significant that we couldn't get a single question answered before being disconnected. It is disappointing to see a US company outsource to the point where quality and privacy are clearly compromised. Wellcare needs to do better.
Choosing Wellcare was a terrible mistake
I agree with the other reviewers. Web site is a disaster. Impossible to figure out where to price a drug. I have had this issue before I contacted them by email and got no response. I was on a live chat with customer service when the page disappears. I will also be conyacting Medicare.
Formulary is well hidden - I challenge you to find it
Here is the note I sent them, just before I filed a complaint with Medicare:
Hard time logging in, called talked to Carla, she couldn't help, I was on hold, tried logging in again, for about the 6th or 7th time, was able to, JUST when I was about to unlock your LOOCKED UP and HIDDEN formulary, I got logged out suddenly. I will try logging in again, after I get this note to you guys. You people need to completely re-vamp this ridiculous Mickey Mouse web site, hire a web content company that KNOWS what they're doing and start over. I've been over an hour just trying to get the formulary. Oh, and the web site that's on the card you guys sent me is NOT where I can get the formulary. I am ANGRY!!! I'm going to contact the Texas Board of Insurance about this. And I'm going to note on TrustPilot, the BBB and Consumer Reports about this situation. I'll also be contacting Medicare. They need to remove Wellcare next year. I am SO SORRY I signed up with you guys, and I will tell anyone who will listen.
I checked the Tx Dept of Ins, they referred me to Medicare. I've filed my complaint there. Now on to the BBB and Consumer Reports, as well as any other entity that will listen.
