Vudu is Dooomed!
If you enjoy torture and misery then Vudu is for you! That's the good news. If like me, you would like a reasonably reliable streaming service with a minimum of ads, well prepare to be disappointed. Non-stop ads, flaky service (outages) etc. I'd rather be waterboarded
Vudu USE to be awesome
Vudu use to be awesome when it was owned by Walmart! I have many titles I’ve bought and when Walmart owned Vudu, there was so many great movies and TV shows for absolutely FREE! Now, some other company bought VUDU from Walmart and this new company completely destroyed the free platform. They took away all the free great shows and films. They increased prices slightly on films. It’s went downhill greatly and the customer service is bad. I still buy films and shows off Vudu, but the company that now owns Vudu has hurt the platform. Bring back the great free movies and shows that set Vudu above the rest and people will spend more money in the long run.
Zero customer support
I purchased a movie through walmart online that qualified for the digital copy. As I awaited the physical copy, I was able to download and watch the digital. When the physical copy arrived, it was severely damaged and unwatchable. I exchanged it after contacting the vendor and then 2 days later received an email from VUDU stating titles have been removed from my account. I contacted them and told them of the situation, sent verifying information showing that I did receive a replacement for the damaged copy and asked that they would reinstate my digital copy of the movie. They claimed that they "escalated it to higher ups" and I should hear something soon. It has been 3 months and I have heard nothing and no movie has been reinstated on my account. I contacted them again and have heard NOTHING. That was 2 weeks ago. I absolutely would not recommend this site to anyone. Even though I have the physical copy of the movie, I would like to have the digital to view when on vacation since it came with my purchase.

Vudu is trying to sell doctor who the peter capaldi years bundle for 79.99 when Amazon has it for 19.99. Ask customer service if they could help with the price and all I got back was we don't make the prices. Guess i won't be buying from vudu anymore. Their customer service sucks as well.

ever since fandango purchased them, they slowly started going to s**t. they just stopped doing the $5 deals as well. that was pretty much the only thing I spent money on anymore. f*** fandango, or whoever it was that bought them from Wal-Mart. and this website is trash too, they don't let you curse.

Very dissatisfied on how they handled my case. It takes them forever to reimburse my money. When you call customer service all they say that it's in the higher up and it was being processed. I'm definitely thinking about switching. I've never seen such a long turn around.

Where is my finale???
I have used Vudu to purchase and store my movies and TV series for many years now. Since 2012 if I remember correctly. I have never had any issue with Vudu. I felt the need to write this review simply because I don't see many positive reviews listed on this site. I have not experienced any of the issues that were negative. My only complaint is this one thing. When you purchase a TV series that is a new season which is being aired over the paramount network in my case. "Yellowstone", after an episode Aires on the network you still can not watch the latest episode until sometime 10 hours later. One example of this is last night at 8:00 p.m. the finale aired. It is now 3:00 a.m. the following day and I still can not watch the episode. I don't know what enables customers to actually see the latest episodes but this process needs some attention. I would love to see the finale that was aired last night but I am still waiting to watch it even though I have paid for this a long time ago. What's up???
I love my vudu service, but
I love my vudu service, but about 50% of the time, i don't get a code on the receipt (as the sticker on the front says i will). I then contact vudu customer care... they have me take pictures of the receipt, movie, etc... then they send me an email stating they are closing my case since i didn't reply to an email in 48 hours (which i never got). i also never got the movie added to my collection... what a pain.
Several of My Movies are Gone
I noticed several of my movies disappeared. Contacted support via email and was told someone would reply soon. Over a week later, still no response. Finally I called and was told that my movies were removed retroactively because my receipt email didn't match my Vudu email. Vudu cannot be trusted.

The main reason my family used VUDU was because they offered a filter (Family Play). We purchased some videos from them because we thought we would be able to filter them. They got rid of Family Play so the videos we purchased are no longer useful to us. We could not receive a refund. We will be purchasing from Amazon from now on. Amazon works with Vidangel.
No audio on TiVo Edge. No fix forthcoming.
My first encounter with the VUDU app was on my new TiVo Edge. It seemed like a worthwhile thing, so I enrolled and gave them my bank card info. Afterward, I tried to watch a VUDU movie, but there was no sound. So I tried another one, same thing. And another, and another. NO AUDIO at all within the VUDU app.
So I tried some of the other apps on the TiVo, and they all worked fine - picture and audio all good. So I contacted VUDU tech support and explained, in detail, what was happening. But all I got in response was generic boiler plate replies containing L-O-N-G lists of hoops for me to jump through.
So I said, "no thanks, since all the other apps work just fine, this must be a *you* problem, not a *me* problem. I'm not going to muck up my system, nor jump through a dozen hoops for the sake of one (1) misbehaving app. Please cancel my membership and expunge my bank card details from your system." And the reply was yet another meaningless boiler plate.
UPDATE:
Since writing this review, I noticed that VUDU is also an option on my Roku device. So I tried it, and it works fine. No audio problem on the Roku, which convinces me even more that the no-audio problem on the TiVo Edge is a VUDU problem, and that mucking up my system and jumping through hoops would NOT have solved it.
Vudu is good............
I've had Vudu for some time. I love the free movies offered and they have new releases fast. Sometimes a bit pricey to rent them, though. I like that there is NO fee to use. If you rent one, great. If not, no charge. I wish they would add more titles. Other than that, I love Vudu. Far better than Netflix but not quite as good as Amazon Prime Video.

Program usually works but if you have an issue good luck ever getting them to fix it or even contact you. Worst support ever.
They never helped me with my problem
They never helped me with my problem. I kept on trying to contact then from their email and for some reason they would respond then I would respond, then nothing for days until I would let them know that it's been days since they contacted me and it would repeat over and over again. They never helped me resolve my issue. Vudu itself is fine but the support is trash.

Scam! Non secure with your credit card. Do not use vudu. It’s obviously own by BLM. Do not use Vudu or you’ll live to regret it.period!!. Turned my account off after I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars because I filed a complaint. So all my movies , gone! No wonder why I see horrible reviews.

Purchased Bad boys for life... tried to watch it a few times recently along with mercy and keep getting a play back error. Customer service said I could not get a refund because it has been played smh... if i Purchased something I would like to watch it when I want. Will not be buying anything from them EVER! EVER! VUDU suspended my account and said it was because my payment information was fraudulently used on PayPal to rent movies. I don't even have a PayPal account and I have a new bank card with no fraud charges. I rented three movies recently using my new card and three days later, they suspended my account. After phone calls and numerous back and forth emails, they tell me there is nothing can do from their end and that I was the only one who could have given that card information or someone I was sharing it with. No one uses my card but me and even my adult kids do not have this information. I explained this, but they basically called me a liar and refused to re-instate my account! So disappointed with VUDU whom I have used with no problems for several years. My movie rentals were reimbursed, but that is little comfort because I never had any problems renting or purchasing movies with them before. Even so, VUDU continues to send me email to rent movies. Un believable. Worst customer service ever. Now I have a VUDU button on my TV remote and my Roku that is absolutely useless!!
