Great airline
I flew with virgin in October this year to Orlando, Florida and had a great flight. The cabin crew were amazing and the service was top notch. The food menus were excellent too and the things to watch on the screens were really good. Overall great experience, will definitely fly with them again.
Near impossible to transfer points
I wanted to transfer Flying Club points, but the mobile website made it very difficult. Sophie on their helpline advised me to go to the desktop website, but the link to transfer points is blocked. My score is low because of how frustrating and unusable the Virgin Atlantic website is, but Sophie went above and beyond in helping to make sure the points were transferred over the phone, which they are not meant to do. I didn't even have to pay the service fee as she recognised it was the company's fault.

Virgin Atlantic are really friendly and welcoming and kind staff I virgin it had more choices of films. And the foods was amazing me and my family fly with Virgin Atlantic agin.
Dodgy Business Practice
We upgraded our holiday flights with Virgin Atlantic using points and paying the UK taxes (£868). VA then cancelled our flight and rebooked us one day later. Despite the fact that they, not us, made the change, they are refusing to honour the upgrade arrangement, instead asking for a million additional points (literally) at a cost of £15k. If we had asked for the change I could see that additional costs to us are fair, but VA made this change

We were on flight vs301 India to Heathrow.
I lost my wedding ring on the flight, when we landed the cabin crew stayed to help me find this, even the captain was on his hands and knees and he actually found it and I am so grateful even though they must of all wanted to go home.
So thanks again. For all your help.
Terrible technology
I spent so many attempts trying to get booked through the app and then the web system but faced numerous errors that required me to restart completely. A payment was taken but I had no evidence of the booking. In the end I had to revert to using the phone and they’re actually much more helpful.

Misleading and not worth it
I recently attempted to use my Flying Club Voucher to upgrade from an Economy seat to a Premium seat. Based on information on their website stating that vouchers can be used for upgrades or companion tickets, I naturally assumed this would be straightforward. However, I was informed for the first time that my voucher is not an automatic upgrade as suggested, but rather represents ONLY 75,000 points. The actual cost to upgrade my specific flight was a ridiculous 250,000 points.
While their website may be technically accurate in stating that vouchers can be used "for upgrades," this presentation is misleading. The average customer reading this information would reasonably expect that a voucher enables an upgrade, not that it provides a partial discount that may cover only a small fraction of the actual upgrade cost.
The distinction between "a voucher for an upgrade" and "a voucher worth X points that can be applied toward an upgrade that may cost significantly more" is substantial. Simply, it is not worth it. Avoid - I'll be shutting my account.
It’s a pass from me
It’s a pass from me. I appreciate the effort to be different but the results are below standard. I fly Premium Economy and the food was bad! The Seat size and leg room was pretty standard but the film choices were terrible. Most of the attendants were fine, nice, mine was rude and patronising. I feel they hire on image rather then skill set. I won’t fly again, sticking with BA
Flex Tickets don’t seem worth the extra money
I’ve flown many times with Virgin Atlantic and bought a Flex ticket for the first time for my current return trip costing £878.
I thought that as long as seats were available you could change your return date easily, but this is only partially true. You can change your date but you need to be prepared to pay a lot more if the flight prices have risen.
Also I was unable to request a date change online and had to speak to an agent (which involves a long wait).
It turned out that flights were full on many of my earlier return dates, and I would have needed to pay an additional £720 to fly just five days earlier. So I declined this offer.
It seems that the additional money that you pay for a Flex ticket is not really worthwhile unless you need to cancel and get a refund, and your Flex ticket is classified as “refundable” - not all are !!
As regards in flight entertainment, this is a bit patchy. Always remember to download films on your tablet, and check that any music you might want to listen to is downloaded before flying.
Great service on flight
Our first return flights recently. Sufficient leg room for 34 inch inside leg in Economy. Food and drinks quality and choice were great. Fell asleep on overnight flight, did not realise that they had pulled open tray and left breakfast for me so when they cam round for coffee, I could have the breakfast and coffee.
Virgin con artists
Virgin con artists. Vua Topcashback was supposed to recieve £99 back post holiday. All confirmed then 7 months later Virgin declined it. Mailed then and phoned and totally mugged me off. Rotten couldnt care less not our problem attitude. Expected better.
I made in error on your website
I made in error on your website. I believed I was only obtaining a price quotation, but the system confirmed the booking instead.
As this was my first time using Virgin Holidays and my Flying Club points, I immediately called the Virgin Flying Club for assistance. The representative I first spoke to advised that cancelling the booking and refunding the points would not be a problem, and that I could then rebook using my reward voucher and points.
However, when I was transferred to another agent, Mr. William I found him to be extremely unhelpful. His attitude left me frustrated and uncertain about how to resolve the matter.
I’ve been a loyal Virgin Atlantic…
I’ve been a loyal Virgin Atlantic customer for years and always loved the airline’s warmth and service, but my recent experience with the Flying Club and reward seat upgrade system has been incredibly disappointing.
Before my trip, I called Virgin to ask whether upgrading my inbound flight after taking the outbound would affect the fare or points. The agent assured me it wouldn’t make any difference. Relying on that, I flew my outbound flight as planned.
A few days later I tried to upgrade, the quote had skyrocketed from around 10,000 points to over 200,000 points. If I were to book that same flight today, it would only cost 50,000 points, so the upgrade system clearly isn’t aligned with real-time fares and is based heavily on the flight having been partially flown.
I’ve now spoken to three different Virgin agents, been given conflicting information, and told there’s no refund or goodwill gesture, even though Virgin acknowledges I was misinformed.
I understand dynamic pricing, but this isn’t a small fluctuation. It’s a completely different pricing structure I was never warned about. I called specifically to clarify before travelling and still ended up penalised for following the wrong advice.
I used to love flying with Virgin and felt loyal to the brand for its honesty and customer care but have noticed a massive shift in the last year and will most likely be switching to BA now for my flights.

Awful service
Poor quality web service- charged three times and hours trying to get hold of any service support
Whistleblowing Abusive Crew Perks
Whistleblowing Abusive Crew Perks! We Paid full fare in Premium class for our extended family of 6 from Bridgetown to Manchester - VS78 - flight less than half full so should have been great BUT was completely taken over by the crew taking personal family & friends out of economy and placing in Upper and Premium - then giving them preferential treatment including slyly passing some of them bottles of spirits to hide in carry on luggage - openly disrespecting full fare paying Premium passengers - disgraceful and dishonest - Virgin should investigate!
Disgrace, no interest in Customers at all, Points are useless
We've been flying with Virgin for years, not my idea I should add. We've accumulated a large number of point as a result. I've been trying to find out what I can do with them, what a nightmare. Use is very restrictive, you need a massive amount of points to get a small discount, it takes ages to get through and I keep getting cut off. I don't know why so many people like them, it always comes across as everything is run a shoestring budget, customer service is awful.
Typical Disaster Virgin Experience
I booked an early flight for around 10:00 because my destination was another 2hr from the airport. I received an email to advise my flight had been moved to the afternoon. I contacted Virgin and was informed because it was a minor change under 5hrs there was nothing they could do. There was an earlier flight and there were seats available so I asked to be relocated to the earlier flight. I was shocked when they requested another £260 to move me to the earlier flight. I questioned why would should I have to pay when they moved me and there was seating available. The customer service have their hands tied they are basically useless even when you request a supervisor. I do not believe the person in spoke to was any better than the first agent I spoke to.
My last flight was too the same destination with United Airlines who have a shocking reputation but they provided me with a much better service and I will be using them from now on.
My ESTA had not cleared in time and without hesitation they moved me to another flight the following day following the ESTA clearing and they did so at NO extra cost even though it was clearly my fault.
The only positive I can find where the flight crew, they were amazing.
On my return we had to disembark to the side of the runway and be transported by bus to the terminal, not sure if that was Virgins fault but just added to a faulty experience.
I filled out a customer survey they sent me and received a very poor sorry about your experience thank you for completing the form!!!
