This happened in November 2022 & I've been too traumatised to even write about it until now.

One of our rescue cats passed extreme amounts of blood instead of urine, it was a Sunday evening. We prepped her for the hour-long drive to this place, leaving her there for emergency help and pain relief. After a day and a half, they transferred her via ambulance to our own vet to have her PTS. They gave us no explanation for her sudden collapse. Had we been told what happened to her, we would have saved her suffering alone and wondering where we were. It would have been kinder all round but they ran up a bill to suit themselves. They didn't prioritise our girl to save her suffering, she was a cash cow. Back at our own vet, we saw her for a brief moment as she was distressed and we didn't want to prolong that, she's suffered enough.

The bill was high but that isn't my point, I paid it. I'm still grieving that we should have been told to end her suffering instead of prolonging it. We could have had her PTS at home and saved her the fear and separation from us. I'll never forgive that.

My experience with Valley Vets has been deeply upsetting and disappointing.

Following the loss of my beloved dog, I expected compassion, professionalism, and clear communication. Instead, I experienced what I believe was a failure to follow the professional code of conduct, along with a lack of care in the way my dog's case was handled.

My concerns include patient records not being kept up to date, incorrect information being given to me by both the reception team and information passed on by the veterinary team, and poor communication throughout. I was told information that later proved to be untrue, causing me additional distress at an already heartbreaking time.

As a client, I paid for a professional service and expected accurate records, honest communication, and appropriate duty of care. Unfortunately, I do not feel these standards were met.

I have submitted a formal complaint and am still awaiting a full response. I hope Valley Vets will thoroughly investigate what happened, acknowledge the failings, and take meaningful steps to ensure that no other family experiences the same distress during the loss of a much-loved pet.

The staff exept 1 vet who was very nice and helpful, everyone else including the 1st vet who saw her were not empapathetic at all. Our little girl a bicheon stayed the night to have tests and meds, by the following morning she had to be put to sleep. That cost just over £2400, we would have paid more if there was a chance of improvement and pain free. Totally distraught my wife, as snowy was her baby. She called back down a few days later and asked if snowy had gone to be cremated. The person at the desk was terrible, no empathy at all, she just said she is probably still here. Just a statedment, no empathy at all, as it took alot for my wife to call in and ask. Terrible costly service, as a vet practice total empathy training needed there.

This veterinary practice are ripping you off! One for a follow up appointment at this vets expected to pay near enough the same amount but what really annoyings me wasting whatever petrol that was left in my fathers/ carers car then only to find out after waiting how much for this next appointment was it cost £62. Due to the cost we walked out the first appointment i only went there with a simple eye problem then was given medication which only cost them only £3 for the bottle 33.99 for anti inflammatory that didnt work. What also annoys me more is my local vets for cats and other animals not reptiles you dont ever pay for another follow up appointment and its in walking distances. Dear valleys vets/ exotics i will never come back to your hospital and will never recommend you. These vets only cater for people who have money and i mean you need bags full of it to go there. Also no information if owners want to take an insurance on reptiles plenty of opticians for cats dogs and rabbits. I felt my first consultant with my bearded dragon you where just looking for other problems. Not happy with service given.
