Berber Carpet
We called at United Carpets on Barnby Dun rd Doncaster on 07/01/2026 for a new carpet to put into our Conservatory .
We were served by John who did an excellent job & within a short space of time he found us exactly what we were looking for & we were pleased with the price.
We had the carpet fitted on 09/01/2026 & found the fitters exceptionally good , they did a tremendous job . We are delighted with the whole experience.

The fitters were really good and clean…
The fitters were really good and clean workers although they cut the hallway short they did go on my measurement and didnt send anyone out to measure it professionally it was solved by fetching another piece .having looked round in places it isnt stuck to the edges and has not gone on the grippers properly therefore it looks threadbare i paid over 1000 pound for it too otherwise the carpet is lovely

Quick service in store. Not overly expensive. Fitter polite. Not 100% happy with finished fitting as we’ve a big upward crease in the middle of the lino.

Poor fit
Great service in store but the fit is very bad. Its bumpy in places and this and isnt fit right around some edges.
Nothing to do with floor underneath - the underlay hasn't been fit right.
Store team arw great though.
Shame the fit let it down

The worst service and fitting.
We paid for our wood floor in May, It was finally finished by cowboys over 6 months later. When I say finished I mean that was their last visit, I finished the missing bits of trim myself and it still needs silicone in places. This project was our entire downstairs in the same laminate so we didn’t expect instant but it could have been done in 3 weeks had they prioritised. Each visit they would give a rough idea of when they would be back to finish, this was always bullshit, sometimes we wouldn’t see them for months, the stress they caused was immense. We had to live with our furniture misplaced for the entire time not knowing when they were coming back or which section they were doing next.
The flooring itself is fine, of good quality. The fitting is a joke. It creaks all over, there are noticeable rises and falls throughout. I have video footage of them using our wheelie bin as a workbench, they never once brought professional equipment with them, just bodged cuts all over. There is chips out of our kitchen and utility cabinets where they go underneath, just left like that raw wood exposed, no silicone or neat finish. There are 2 visible holes where they have cut short. There is one section on a rise and fall where a lip has formed.
They ask for cash after fitting each visit and dared to ask for more than the original agreed amount thinking we wouldn’t be counting. Luckily I kept track and had put aside the exact amount before they started, they certainly weren’t getting a penny more for that atrocity.
The fitter that finished the job was the best one, he took over the job from the other cowboys and he had a bit more respect and understanding, but it was too late the damage was already done.
Throughout this I visited the store several times and to tell them of the issues. They weren’t bothered, out of sight out of mind. They had their money, that’s paid in advance, the fitters not their problem. There was a dance of pretence to care from our new ‘mate’ as he would call me, but it was just to get me off their backs.
Oh and don’t bother with their carpet fitters either. You should see the mess they left too, we literally have to replaster under the stairs where they bashed holes in 8 places, and don’t talk to me about the fit of the trim.

We're disappointed to hear that your experience with the independent fitters has not met your expectations. We take all feedback seriously, particularly where delays, communication issues, and fitting standards are concerned.
After speaking with the store I understand that the length of time it took to complete your job was longer than usual due to a couple of factors. After your initial purchase, the store came to check the measurements and found that the subfloor was in need of work before fitting could begin. After this was completed there was another delay in finding a fitting date that accommodated both to yours and the independent fitter's diary.
We're pleased to hear that you are happy with the quality of the flooring from the store.
Regarding the fitters using your waste bin, this is something the fitters usually do to prevent the dust from falling directly on to the floor to prevent mess in your home. The fitter did confirm after the final session that you were satisfied with the work before they left.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience, will never use again! The fitters put staples through my house alarm as they seemed to be rushing, cost me £150 to repair. Got no where with a complaint, fitters never apologised, manager of the Doncaster shop wasn't interested and avoided my calls, went above him but seen as they are all related got nowhere again! Terrible service all round!
