I understand peoples reviews about this company as they way they approach you can sometimes come off slightly intimidating, I felt that too. I think if you are anything like me and have never got into any debt before, its very overwhelming anyway. UK Search Limited approached me via email regarding an unpaid bill for Octopus Energy which I had no idea about.

Although their customer skills are a little on the poor side, this is a genuine debt collection company, you only have to do a little bit of research to confirm that, so don't just believe the negative reviews.. If you ignore it, it will only get worse.

I checked every avenue before making any payment to them, I called the company the debt was with, who confirmed that they work alongside UK Search Limited due to being unsuccessful in contacting myself directly.

I had my debt confirmed and paid off within 48 hours.

They are begging for money since last year to me accusing that I owe money to the learnsdirect the other fraud. Even after providing the proof I had paid them. I gave them half of the money they were begging to shut them even I had not much money due to this economic crisis. Now, they want more money . Such a beggar whose hobby is to ruin others life should be banned.
Now they will reply to email them with reference number to sort out. Sorting out for such scam is to get money from us.

Harassing us unnecessarily regarding a water bill debt of Southern waters.We do not stay at the given address nor we have any water bill debt. Constant Emails & letters are mental torture.

If I could give zero stars I would This company needs reporting and it needs to be shut down sending fake debts to people the reviews are the same. Always some water debt for someone who don’t even live in that property. I ain’t be surprised if they get information from the black market. No should ever succumb to this stupid scumbags they are evil. I’m sure it can be reported to someone as they are scamming everyone

Horrible experience! Abaut 2 months ago i start living a nightmare. UK Serch limited start harassing me with letters, phone calls sustaining that i have a depth to pay for Affinity water at an address that i never ever lived. I told them many times that i never lived there, i spoken with the police, done a case on UK Fraud as well and nothing. What should i do cause i can't carry one like this, i'm thinking of going to some solicitors or intend them to justice!!!

A registered company intent on scamming people.
Recieved a letter from uk search claiming we owe money to affinity water for a property we have absolutely no connection with. So far uk search have ignored our requests for proof or any info showing we owe this debt or have lived at this property. Even though we are account holders with Affinity and pay bills monthly on our own property.

Received a letter this week (then a email) saying i owe well over £1000 for a water bill at a address i left about 7/8 years ago - this is the third company that the debt has been passed to ! Because last company i told anymore communications or threats - we can go court and i will seek compensation for stress alarm and harassment while there with my friend’s barrister - now these muppets are trying for that same none existant fee of what was never owed ! Received several letters from this company saying I owe money to Southern water!
The address in question is a few hundred miles asway from where i live. i have never even been down there. Our surname is totally different than what's on the letter but they my addressed. Reading the reviews on here they have done this to lots of people so don't ask for me to replay to this. It seams like a robot is replying, as all replies are the same.

Constantly calling, text messages & emails, iv got no problem paying off my debt that I owe, I set up an agreement with them & also explained I have serious mental health issues & I’m also a suicide risk & they need to stop with the constant calls etc, 2 months later & nothing has changed phone calls every day, texts every day, emails every day, it’s starting to take its toll on my mental health

So a letter arrives in the post for a debt my mother apparently owes. The problem is, she has never had Octopus energy so it's not even possible that the debt is real. They have plucked it out of fresh air. I had an account with Octopus and they paid me when I left as I was in credit, a couple of years ago now. So be wary they are obviously making up debts.

Received multiple letters claiming I owe debt to an energy company I have never been with! Spoke to the supplier directly and they confirmed they have no debt on record, so where they have this information from is beyond me, and if this continues, it will constitute harassment!

Received a letter which lies on it I have been in contact with southern water and dealing with them U.K. search also lied and broke laws and legislation within minutes of talking to them the first time so I went to southern water they should of got the debt back which they say they have but still receiving letters threatening me and with printed lies on it do not pay this sham of a company who break the law and lie repeatedly and threaten things they can’t do. Update 22/11/2022 I will not contact you I will have no dealings with a company that breaks the law and threatens my family who are not even living at the address which breaks the law and other pieces of legislation this is a warning to everyone who has to deal with you don’t contact the companies you owe money to and get it away from this disgusting company

If you put up a website, it means you want people to be able to access it, but its so difficult to access your site. I have tried several times but av not been able to get through.

I received an e mail for a water debt of £1400 for an address in London I’ve never lived there. They sent an e mail to ask for my date of birth and address to verify me I think not. This has caused me stress as I thought I was in trouble it’s just someone else with my same previous name.

Last September I tried in vain to sign up for Utilita energy - no amount of calling or website hunting could get me an account.

Cut to this year and I receive a bill from UkSearchLimited - apart from being a little over threatening the entire experience has gone as well as I could hope for.

Both times I called up I got through to a respectable agent immediately, even when I called at 7pm! My requests for the original bills and more information were dealt with so efficiently I am actually in awe of how good the customer service was.

Nothing shady was attempted, and the online service for paying off my debt was straightforward.

If anyone is going to chase me for a debt I did not (and practically couldn't) pay - I hope it's these guys.

I recived a letter about an electric bill with octopus energy (that was never in my name) from a shared house I used to live in, regarding dates that spread over a span of time after we had left.
I called and the man on the phone was very nice, he said to email all my evidence through to enwquire/uksearchlimited.com which bounced straight back. I forwarded this to octopus/uksearchlimited.com and sent a follow up asking for confirmation on there side.
I sent proof of final bill with octopus being paid, received on their end, and confirmation of the account being closed, as well as proof of us leaving the house.
Yet to have any reply to my emails, its always urgent for me to take time out of my day to get back to these people over a bill/debt that was never even associated with me in the first place & isnt even a vaild debt. Yet on their side they can take all the time in the world to get back to me.
Whats even worse is the flatmate who was paying that bill gave his own forwarding address yet they still targeted me which just seems stupid as how can I contact Octopus about this?

It seems like the people handling emails need to step up their game and be a little bit more communicative. The man on the phone was really nice and said emails was a different department. I was totally happy to work with them after calling but now after waiting a couple of days for even acknowledgment of them getting my proof documents im starting to understand why they have such poor reviews.

I received a letter today saying I owe almost £1000 to Southern water! The address is in the Isle of Wight, I live in North Lincolnshire, My surname is the same as the person who owes the debt, but he's male, they addressed the letter to Mr, I'm Mrs, then my first name, then his middle name which is Dougles! Won't even reply after reading the reviews on here

When you get a voicemail from a clearly unhinged woman telling you what to do, constant calls about crap that doesn't concern you, just hang up. A quick Google maps will show that this lot don't even have parking spaces. Ignore them

Absolutely disgusting...a member of staff by the name of Tim levers called today trying to be stern and intimidating but 100 %rude and ignorant...how they get away with this I don't know .I agreed to pay off an outstanding debt but due to health issues I was unable to commit to payments however when I tried to make arrangements going forward I was bombarded with abuse and threats and complete ignorance....I honestly think this horrible little man would not be as rude if speaking to someone in person ,I also hope he doesn't take this attitude with those who may be of a more sensitive nature or suffering from mental health issues as I could see his a tins tipping someone over the edge....uksl need to retrain this fella or move him on

Disgusting company, as others have said they do not actually try to find the actual person that caused the debt but rather buy peoples details that match like the first and last name and even date of birth and then send out threatening letters. I have been dealing with this company for years going back to 2016 when i stated getting letters about the same water company that others here are getting for a flat down in England that I have zero connection to as i have lived in Scotland since the age of 10 and only ever rented a house in Scotland since 2001. It took me less than 30 min to find the details of the guy online that lived at that address and while we share the same first last name and dob he has an entirely different middle name. But these Search UK guys do not care they just want to pressure you into paying even if its not your debt, and even when you do finally fix it they come back months down the line and you have to go through the whole process all over again. Right now I just got my 5 letter from them in 6 years.
