My favourite part of the house now
What a professional and friendly company. We contacted Tyneside with the view of extending out from our kitchen, which is a new build, but the kitchen/diner just wasn’t working. From Dans initial consultation, to the team of workman, Jo in the after care and Dale who had to come to tweak a problem with the windows, it was such a smooth project. Always on time, weather dependant, if there was a problem it was rectified without question and within an acceptable time limit.
Would I recommend this Company, yes, in an instant

Excellent outcome again. This is the second time I have used…
This is the second time I have used this company in the last year, once for my own homework, and the second time I recommended the company I work for to use them. They have just finished the extension on one of the company’s properties and like the work they done on my property, they delivered a very professional job. The staff are very hard working, they delivered the outcome in the required timescales, and they were very pleasant and professional throughout. Have now used THI a few times to fix the shocking installation of windows and front door from Pennine. The workmanship is fantastic and very reliable . Want to give Dale a huge thumbs up nothing is too much trouble and he’s very professional in everything he does. Also want to give Jo Bolton in customer care a huge thank you for all her professional service and help. Nothing is ever too much trouble . Garage conversion with heart & soul
Following some devastating family news, we needed a bedroom with en-suite garage conversion as a matter of urgency. THI were recommended by our neighbour ( previous THI customer). I made the call with hope for a quick response with low expectations. Surely this wasn’t possible right? Enter THI, they recognised our exceptional position, were in budget and offered a 2 week start date! Every interaction, without exception, was professional, considerate and genuine. The management of the project was done seamlessly by Damon, always keeping us informed. The tradesman were skilled, knowledgeable & good humoured. First fix stage was heavy going and Graham, joined a few days later by Cam, were excellent. They were hard working & respectful (amazing what you can learn from YouTube eh Graham?). The joiner, plasterers, electricians and plumber kept the same high standards throughout, and did you proud THI. I have no hesitation in recommending them. What could have been an impossible task, at the worst possible time, was completed to schedule, with empathy and good spirit.

Great company for garage conversion
We had a full single storey rear extension, toilet and garage conversion built in 2021. Tyneside home improvements were great, workers always polite and hardworking and listened to anything we wanted done and how we wanted it. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic Service
We had great service in 2023 - so good that they’re going to do some more windows for us this year! They were efficient, stuck to agreed timescales and were incredibly tidy. The quality of the windows was excellent - for the first time in over 30 years the front room has been too warm in winter!
I would highly recommend.

Tyneside Home Improvements came to our rescue to resolve the issues, shoddy workmanship and poor install left behind by the now defunct Pennine, from the guys who came to survey, the office staff support and the two fantastic tradesmen who came to our home you could not wish for a better service, despite the horrendous weather the fitters were meticulous with their work, left the house spotless and resolved all our issues, a five star service from a five star company, I cannot recommend Tyneside Home Improvements highly enough, top people!

Love my orangery but it’s too hot!
We had an orangery built on our kitchen which was complete around May/June time and I absolutely love it. Cannot fault the builders at all, they were all lovely and did great work (especially Steve, couldn’t do enough for us.)
In the beginning we’d decided to keep our doors and windows in the kitchen to cut down costs but later we realised it would be much better without so contacted THI to ask to make a change to our plans. Initially we were told this was fine and we signed a new contract. We were then contacted on the day our building work started to advise our changes weren’t possible, they had already ordered the materials and would need to carry out new building reg checks so declined the new plan and we had to sign another contract. This was really disappointing when you’re spending 29K to be told you can’t have what you want. It meant we had to employ a builder after the initial work was done to take the doors and windows out and spend more money.
The salesman who met with us initially showed us the special glass that doesn’t get too hot in the summer and doesn’t get too cold in the winter. I’ve been working from home in the extension and I’m boiling all the time, often having to sit with windows and doors open or have a fan on, even when there’s no direct sunlight and it’s raining. Painters and handymen who have been working in that room have commented on how warm it is, so I would say don’t believe the hype about the special windows, it will still be warm. As we’ve had the windows and doors taken out of the kitchen it means on a sunny day it also makes the kitchen unbearably warm, especially when cooking.
Overall, I absolutely love my extension, it makes the house look so much better and bigger, best money I’ve spent, but do be aware of the ‘special windows’ and make sure you’re 100% happy with the first contract you sign because chances are they won’t let you change anything later.

Great workmanship and very happy with the finished product
Was very pleased with the quality and workmanship of the conservatory area . Had a very professional and informative planner called Ollie who came to the house discussing all options, and how it would look. The workmen were great and we had an excellent plasterer called Steve .
Had a top hat fitting replacing an old plastic roof and old windows and doors where the conservatory was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Had tiles put onto the roof and argon gas glass to make the room cooler in summer and warmer in winter and can definitely feel the difference so far . And it looks amazing!

Orangery
We recently had an orangery built which has made a massive difference to the back of our house, with so much more natural light. The contractors where fantastic, very professional and ensured the site was cleared each day. The building work was spot on and we were always kept upto date with the progress.
My only issue was the main communication with the office which was rectified once highlighted.
We absolutely love the finished build and would recommend working with Tyneside Home Improvements again in the future. Great value for money!

Tyneside Home Improvements fitted a new…
Tyneside Home Improvements fitted a new glass roof on our conservatory and our experience dealing with them was excellent from start to finish.
The salesman Lee, was very informative, answered all of our questions and enabled us to make decisions without at any time feeling any form of sales pressure.
Kevin, the surveyor, impressed us with his experience and the fitters Andy and Phil were both friendly and extremely hard working. We appreciated the fact that they protected our very muddy lawn with wooden boards on which they could work. They did a first class job and left no mess at all.
Inevitably the wet weather delayed the date of installation, but only by a few days, and communication with us was excellent during this time.
We are delighted with our new roof, and based on our experience with THI we would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.
