Perfect location, perfect hosts!
We (husband, daughter & myself) stayed at Trelawney for 3 nights in July. Liz & Paul are the perfect hosts, from the moment we arrived they took our luggage up to our rooms - we booked a first floor room as my husband has mobility issues, and our daughter had a room on the top floor which she loved. The rooms were lovely, decorated to a high standard, comfy beds, tea tray, well stocked bathroom toiletries & the all important fan, as we were well into a heatwave during our stay! You can also request a fridge in your room if needed.
Liz & Paul run the hotel with no help and they do an absolutely fantastic job! From check in, housekeeping, breakfasts & everything in-between, I don't know how they do it!! They are on hand to advise the best places to eat out, things to do & give directions. My husband uses a mobility scooter to get around, Liz & Paul carried it onto the outdoor seating area and put it on charge for us each evening, which we were so grateful for.
In the lounge area there is an "honesty bar" which was something new to me, selling bottles of water, wine & a selection of alcohol cans - with all proceeds going towards a local charity, such a simple but brilliant idea.
Breakfast was great, there was a choice of various cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, juices & tea/coffee, plus your choice of cooked breakfast, made using all local produce, which you choose the evening before using a whiteboard style tick list to pick which items you want and the time you want, another simple yet effective way to ensure you get the cooked breakfast you want, meaning less food wastage & prompt service.
This was our first visit to Torquay, we will definitely be back - and Trelawney will be top of the list for somewhere to stay!
