We have just returned from a wonderful holiday to Tanzania , organised by Gemma. Huge thanks to her and the Africa Specialists ! I highly recommend this small travel company for a tailor-made trip in Africa. Gemma gave us expert advice and personally knew all the places we visited and safari lodges etc we stayed at. Everything was excellent and from the moment we arrived we had every confidence that we would be well looked after , which we certainly were! Price-wise we also found them to be comparable to larger travel companies offering a far less personal and high quality service.

First rate service from Gemma, and good advice and recommendations on the best type of safaris to suit our particular needs.

We recently honeymooned in Zanzibar (Seyyida Hotel / The Palms) and Tanzania (Roho ya Selous game reserve / Slipway Hotel) and hired The African Specialists to create the itinerary and coordinate the accommodations, activities, local flights, and ground transportation. It's the first time we've used a 3rd party to do the planning, so I really don't have any experiences to compare it to, but in all honesty I don't know how it could have gone any better. Gemma and Nick were both responsive, friendly, and professional. They answered all our questions promptly and offered many "tips & tricks" about travelling and staying in that region of the world. They thought of and planned every detail, and everything went off without a hitch. Would we use them again to plan another trip? We certainly would. Would we recommend them to friends, family, and people reading this review? Absolutely. Give them a call - you won't be disappointed.

I had a wonderful time in Tanzania and Gemma made all of that possible! She made sure everything was seamless and had every detail planned out for me. We asked our agent (Gemma) to put an itinerary together for 2 weeks in Tanzania. The itinerary turned out to be perfect - just the right amount of time in each place (Selous, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Manyara, Ngorongoro and N. Serengeti) and visited in the right order. The logistics, amazingly, went without flaw. We were very happy with every aspect of the trip; the mobile camp in the Serengeti was the highlight. We have been on many outstanding trips in many parts of the world over the years and this one was right up there with the best.

The Africa Specialists organised our safari at Siwandu, our culture trip to Stone Town and our luxury beach trip in Qambani on Zanzibar. The help and level of customer service received from Gemma could not be surpassed and our family of three had the best holiday ever!

My wife and I spent an amazing two weeks in Tanzania, safari followed by a week of relaxation in Zanzibar.

Gemma was fantastic in making our honeymoon a trip to remember. Her first hand experience and knowledge of Tanzania allowed her to tailor our trip to suit our wishes.

She answered all emails immediately with all parts of the trips arranged. Everything ran smoothly.

Gemma is an outstanding professional on every dimension. She is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, always follows through and responds to changes in plan with skill and grace. Best of all, Gemma has a delightful personality. Our family will always be grateful to Gemma for helping us arrange a trip to Tanzania that exceeded our high expectations.

Nick did a great job organising our trip to Tanzania. The two reserves we visited provided a good contrast. I particularly enjoyed Lake Manze as you effectively had 2 safaris in one– both water and land with both offering great sights.

I think we saw everything we could have hoped to see including leapord and a honey badger and a pack of wild dogs numbering 23 in total. My son took thousands of photos!

Great hosts at both camps but Trudie, in particular, at Mwaguse in Ruaha is a star and good fun. Mwaguse bandas are a bit more luxurious but you pay for that.

We also had great down time in Zanzibar which was a beautiful contrast.

We thoroughly recommend Nick and his colleagues.

Our honeymoon - A trip of a lifetime.
My wife and I spent an absolutely amazing week on safari in the southern plains of the Serengeti during the Wildebeest migration. We have never seen so many animals. And we saw the big 5. Just incredible! It was more than we could have ever hoped for.
We followed this with a fantastic week relaxing in beautiful Zanzibar.

Gemma and Nick were fantastic. They spent so much time with my wife and I organising the perfect honeymoon. Nothing was ever too much. They answered e-mails and phone calls immediately.

We have just returned from our honeymoon in Tanzania organised by Gemma at the Africa specialists. Our first stop which included a 3 night stay in the Roho Ya Selous camp. The experience was something that words can’t explain! Absoloutley amazing staff and location. We saw all the animals we had hoped to see and more! Onwards to Zanzibar, we spent 6 days in an all inclusive hotel drinking and eating too much!

Words cannot describe our honeymoon! An unforgettable experience from start to finish, Thank you to The Africa Specialists. Gemma organised an amazing 3nights in Roho Ya Selous on our first safari (which will not be our last) and the remaining 5nights in Zanzibar. On safari we saw plenty of Game including wild dogs, lions and quite a few babies! So many stories to tell and special moments that we will cherish forever. We cannot recommend this company enough! Gemma has been so helpful throughout, from planning our trip, within our budget, to giving us handy tips beforehand, she was always there if we had any queries with a quick response. Everything ran smoothly - no stress. A professional and friendly company. I'm not sure how we can ever top this holiday! We have fallen in love with Africa!!

Really worth going in February . Despite being the green season we had great sightings of game and all the major predators including wild dogs and lions

Swimming with Whale sharks off Mafia Island was a highlight of a marine safar experience

We would have to say that this trip ranks among one of the best holidays we have ever been on. The Africa Specialists really took care of absolutely everything for us - this included not only the accommodation, dietary requirements, the internal flights and drives were all done so smoothly that we did not have to worry about anything. Gemma our advisor was instrumental in this and we would like to say a massive thankyou to her for all the hard work she put in. We will definitely be using them again to plan our next safari!!
