Single pole voltage tests can be performed between 100 to 1000 V AC (50/60 Hz) and continuity tests function with both visual & acoustic indicators. The phase rotation indicator provided by this tester has been simplified as opposed to similar devices, the TPT420 avoids the crossing of test probes now required by some two-pole testers. On any circuit protected by an RCD, RCBO and Safety Breaker, while testing between phase and earth the TPT420 operates below the tripping threshold to avoid unintentional disconnection.
