Had a Great experience buying my (JCW) mini from Kayleigh.
From arranging the test drive to carrying out the paperwork I found the whole experience to be very relaxed and non pressured which was great .
Kayleigh was Very knowledgable which made the experience more positive .

Selling my Mini
Having bought 3 cars from the brand (2 mini, 1 BMW) I went back to them to regrettably sell my mini hatch.
Adam Horton was very helpful from start to finish and met my expectations when getting the right price for my car with it all being turned around in 3/4 days. I would highly recommend him when selling your car.

Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied
I feel compelled to share my experience with Sytner Mini in Newport, which has left me extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.
Towards the end of last year, just before Christmas, I received a letter from Mini stating that a specific faulty component in my vehicle would be replaced free of charge. As my car had been experiencing performance issues, I reasonably assumed this component might be the cause, and that its replacement would resolve the matter. On that basis, I booked the car into Sytner Newport, trusting in their position as an authorised Mini service centre.
Unfortunately, what followed was a distressing and unprofessional ordeal. My vehicle was held at their premises for two full weeks, during which time I received no clear communication or updates. I was forced to chase the service team repeatedly, but my queries were met with vague replies or, on many occasions, complete avoidance. Phone calls went unanswered, and the online tracking system was not updated at all.
As a self-employed mobile therapist, I rely heavily on my vehicle for my livelihood. The end of the year is traditionally a quieter time for my business, and any opportunity for work is crucial. Yet I was left without a courtesy car, without information, and with no timeframe for the return of my vehicle. I had to resort to daily car rentals, which were costly and unsustainable—especially without any income during that period.
Eventually, after two weeks, I was abruptly informed that the cost of the repairs would be £1,800. When I asked what had been done and what exactly was wrong, I was told “a lot,” with no further explanation. The invoice provided no detail and did not justify the exorbitant charge. Despite making it clear that I did not have the funds, I was presented with a finance option, which I reluctantly accepted—committing to £200 monthly repayments for work that remains largely unexplained.
To add insult to injury, I was told all four tyres and brake discs needed replacement. I declined this service and had both inspected independently—where I was informed that the brake discs were in perfectly acceptable condition and tyres were replaced elsewhere at £60 each, rather than the £200 per tyre quoted by Sytner.
This entire experience has been deeply frustrating, financially burdensome, and utterly unprofessional. I would strongly advise others to approach this service centre with caution. If you value transparency, respect, and honest service, I suggest you avoid this provider entirely.
Sytner Mini stated they would value my feedback and take it personally—so here it is. I have delayed writing this review to ensure it was not written in haste or anger. Yet, months later, I remain both angry and financially impacted, still paying £200 per month for the next 5 months for a service whose value and necessity remain questionable.
