Unprofessional

System group initially were helpful and contactable. I spoke at length with Lauren Kershaw, she was certainly one of the good ones. However, saying that when I tried to email/call/text/WhatsApp her back I heard nothing.
The company’s phone number and Lauren’s number are now disconnected. Forgotten and probably never really valued, I suggest you steer clear of System Group.

AVOID

I write this review purely to state my own opinions on system group.

I started my HGV bootcamp course back in February/March time. The initial starting and training was good, the trainer for my online part was very knowledgeable (its a shame as I would have given the trainer a 5/5, but he seems not too work there anymore)

So I thought it was going ok, however they always took ages to reply to emails, and would never answer their phone. This made it very difficult to rearrange my theory tests as they booked it on days that I worked. This was a common thing right through my training, the lack of replies from them.

I was lucky enough to be placed with a fantastic hgv training company for my practical tests (theyll receive a seperate review). Without their help with getting hold of system group (theyd take ages to reply to them too) would of meant id be miles behind.

Here lies the main issue, so I got to the point of passing all my tests, apart from the cpc module 4, and system group cant tell me whats happening with my training. I have been informed, after several emails and mulitple phone calls (that have gone unanswered, and now the number doesnt exist at all), that they have gone into administration.

So if you want a company who rarely replies, or takes ages doing so, this is the company for you. If I was you I'd go directly with a local company who offer all the training themselves and dont outsource it, as this company is mainly a middleman between who pays and who delivers most of the training.

Reading other reviews suggest they owe a lot of people a lot of money, so it looks like theyve stretched themselves too much and couldnt cope.

Absolutely a circus say before I start…

Absolutely a circus day before I start my practical training they cancel all lesson and test as they’ve gone into administration and they’ve not been paying there company’s who learn you to drive the hgv which as left me 1700 out of pocket because I’ve had to pay for it myself when it’s free through government

C1 Training

I've recently passed my C1 with System Group, really helpful when doing my theory; offered a subscription to an app, rebooked my theory test, really accommodating.
I had Sarah for my lessons, she was ace! Drove in from Manchester every time, really supportive and easy to have a laugh with.

Frustrations of Class 2 Driver Pathway (System Group/DWP)

Started Sept 2021. The online group courses were fine, helpful tutor.
The AEB Next Steps email team are impersonal and vague when it came to managing candidate expectations for the Class 2 practical lessons/tests and location availability.
System Group changed the goalposts from the initial pitch, which was as a Class 1 Driver pathway partnered with DWP for Universal Credit candidates. As colleagues progressed to practical lessons/test. We were told funding only for Class 2 pathway..and if we wished to complete Class 1 also, it would require more online course hoops to jump through and added time onto the process along with extended time on Universal Credit.

Thought it was poor that for a pathway offered to Universal Credit candidates that we were offered dates/locations that were great distances away from home. I'm from Mcr but had to travel to Widnes for training and test. As I felt it was not conducive to success to commute each day whilst learning a new, physically and mentally taxing skill, I had to push to get travel/accommodation cost assistance from DWP to stay over in Widnes.

There was no contingency or urgency built into the pathway by DWP/System Group regarding the 'one funded attempt' for each element of the course. If candidate fails the practical test ( I did in August 2022), System Group merely tells you you need to self fund any further progress. DWP have allowed 3 months to pass since failing my test, while requesting internally to see if i can get alternative funding via LVP.

I've done 90% of the pathway but in limbo. I have had to take full time work as i can no longer manage financially on Universal Credit. This is with a view to pay for end stage myself, but have no idea if I will get a refresher and re-test with System Group in a reasonable turnaround time. Been over a year and still yet to qualify. I dread to think what the drop out rate due to similar practical test fails.

Looking back if I could have I would have self funded the process as I do believe the turnaround time on all parts would have been between 3-6 months (barring the self inflicted 3 month delay I had due to the in person BP Readings being high and needing confirmation readings. Received letter from DVLA 3 months after medical and the doctor not giving me the heads up on the process implication.

Really great company

Really great company, my instructor Andy Binns was brilliant, supportive and so helpful. I passed my driver test with 0 faults.
Would defo recommend.

Amazing service for C1

Doing my c1 for my ambulance course and i want to say this company is amazing very quick at replying to questions via email and in person i highly recommend andy he is very informative and helps get the nerves away when driving would recommended all my friends to system group going for there ambulance driving

I wouldnt recommend System group to anyone

I wouldnt recommend System group to anyone, me and my work coach applied for these ppl so i could start work as a class1 driver but it changed after I started the course, they even said when i pass my theory i will be passed on to XPO to do my practical, but that got changed to.
Now after 18 months and no license i have to wait till Dec to do my practical thats for class2 instead of what we realy applied for, Class1.
Its like you sign a application to get a Ferrari but they deliver a Fiat to you.

Avoid this company at all cost!!
I went on an LGV Apprentiship with System Group through the company I work for and have never experienced such awfull service before!!
To go through the Apprentiship you have to constantly chase them up for things you need to move through the process and chase up for a reply to questions that you ask.
There is no support from System Group and when you come to your Class 1 training they will put you with the most arrogant, rude and unhelpfull instructor you will ever meet!
He will teach you how to drive aggressively, how to disregard the Highway code, belittle you, criticise you,shout at you, destroy your confidence and teach you how to fail your test!!
Yes, I did pass my test eventually but I found the experience so stressfull i ended up leaving the apprentiship after 12 months as there is no sight of ever completing it.
And forget complaining to them as they don't come back to you about it, or even acknowledge your complaint.
In all, a very bad experience provided by System Group.

I would highly recommend system group

I found this course brilliant, the tutors were great , they were very professional, helpful and were prepared to go that extra mile to help me succeed. Before starting on this course i was unsure of my capabilities but with the help and guidance of my tutors and the team I have passed. My computer skills have improved a lot along with my self confidence . I would highly recommend system group training .

Avoided the worst company ever

If I can put a 0 star I will but I can’t avoid them please guys if you wanna throw your money then go for it but this is the worst company ever they take your money they don’t care about your training they care only about money ..

Not sure why o/a rating is that low, I'm currently on bootcamp though System Group and from tutors to support everythings great, half way through my course and I wouldn't say anything wrong about whole team. Great healp and support through my lgv course.

Complete and utter chaos.

One of the most incompetent, chaotic and unprofessional organisations I have ever dealt with. I can see why they were selected by the government.

Wasters of time. Avoid

I was on their HGV course for three weeks from morning to evening. And one morning I couldn’t join the on-line course just because the tutor didn’t send a login link as always. Write an email to them, for weeks they didn’t reply. So I was left with an unfinished course because they blocked my access to the account for no reason and no explanation, I lost three weeks of my precious time. Do not choose this company if you need an HGV course. The first week is a course on occupational safety and health. The next two weeks are about warehousing and storage principles. I can't understand why an HGV driver needs this information, because we chose to be drivers and not warehouse operatives, warehouse team leaders or warehouse managers!
TIME WASTERS .. SCAM ...
