*** Update*** After having read this review SUMO customer service contacted me, and although it took a week have rectified the issue and put me onto the actual plan I signed up for. Customer support was very helpful, but it should never have got to this stage in the first place.

I went online and reviewed a number of suppliers, I should have taken the negative reviews on Sumo more seriously!
They had the best prices for a switch - BUT!!
I went online, went through the process and got a quote for a a switch to a single time of use rate contract for my specific address.
I then phoned SUMO and referenced
the quote and the rates I’d received in the quote. The rep tried to tell me I couldn’t get that specific deal (couldn’t say why). I then said I’d try another retailer, and all of a sudden I could get the deal I’d been quoted on via their website.
I agreed to the deal at the prices in the original internet based quoted and told them to proceed.
I received my welcome pack a day later with a completely different deal and contract to what we had agreed on the phone. Peak and off peak rates instead of a single fixed rate and significantly higher than what had been agreed!!
Reading other reviews this is not a admin mistake and seems pretty common practice for SUMO which has happened to others. Dishonest and unethical at best, bordering on fraudulent. I agreed a specific contract and have been signed up for something completely different and MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE than agreed.
Call centre closed over the weekend so now a wait till Monday and the long tedious process of either getting the agreed deal sorted or cancelling and finding a more ETHICAL supplier - which at this stage is my preference. All trust and credibility lost.

Ever since l joined, l have been stuffed around and told Admin errors all the time.First they accidentally joined up my neighbours instead of me, then they were sending me two bills for elect at once! Now another issue tonight.. hours on the phone!! Do not go join

Exceptionally poor bill layout, i believe it to be deliberately misleading and confusing.
In early May i get warned via a sms, a payment is going to be debited from a fully funded account .... However no deduction is made.
Then late May i get a new bill which states i never paid the last bill and am now overdue.
This is not the first time this has happened.

Cheaper Electricity Bll
Called up today to see if I could get a better rate for my electricity and am very glad I did!. The person I spoke to was very helpful, informative and polite. They told me exactly what the new cheaper charges would be per kw and it was all very quick and easy.
customer service / less expensive plans
spoke to Annalise who was very friendly and explained why this months bill as $124 more than the previous month? She explained that there are other plans that may be of a more competitive nature (lowering costs). She has emailed me as promised a review of other plans to consider. over all experience was courteous and professional. Note, if there are better plans available Sumo should advise customers as a matter of urgency, now that's customer service!!
Sumo Experience Very Good
The girl on the phone (sorry forget her name) was great. She answered all my queries and questions.
We are very new to Sumo but everything is going well and the prices compared to other energy providers are so far much better.
Even when ringing there is not a long wait at all and all customer service people have been so nice to speak with.
The Team are genuinely Happy and Helpful
With SUMO whether I speak to them about my current account or new products even issues with bill deliveries not arriving or delayed etc the team are happy, positive to talk to , and do not have a negative tone about them. AND they are employed right here in OZ - Australia!! Big shout out to Joel***** today - helpful, friendly and has a jolly sense of humour. It is the little things that other companies overlook but SUMO takes pride in the little things and of coarse the big things too. Jill

Sneaky price increases - avoid!!!
Disgusting. I signed up in July 23 at really good rates. The prices then went up massively less than 6 months later, they say they wrote to me..... Have moved away now, they are shonky operators who get you in at a low prices and then just increase them . When I phoned they could not have cared less. Avoid at all costs.

They provided us with a broadband service that simply did not work and could not fulfil their obligations, then they charge us a disconnection fee .

Feedback for Ash
The agent I spoke to, Ash, was outstanding. He completely understood my circumstances and that there had been an ongoing billing issue and quickly re-calculated an adjustment, made sure all issues were resolved and also said if there were any issues in future he's happy for me to call and ask to speak with him again directly. He took ownership, was personable, warm and friendly and a complete assett to Sumo's team. If he is always this great (which I suspect he is) at resolving customer issues, he should be training and coaching your new team members in future, in my opinion. :)
for months have been asking for sumo to…
for months have been asking for sumo to replace faulty router, nearly everyday I lose internet and when I call for replacement router instead waste hours going thru the same 'tech support" when It randomly connects again then they think its fixed but then happens again sometimes everyday.
Sumo has been contacted for past 16 months and now see they are waiting for my router warranty to expire so I have to pay for new one
