I'm not sure why Steve's Blinds have…

I'm not sure why Steve's Blinds have not gotten a better rate, dealing with them from Canada.
I have ordered a few things over the years and different products, types of blinds.
I once ordered a dual accordion blackout blind. Not until the sunset was low, you could see a small 1/2" size blot that allowed light penetration.likely from the manufacture defect.
Still No problem, I took some pics & sent them to them. They sent me an entire new blind which was mint.
You could order major brands & as well they had their own.
I am once again looking at their site to order again !
I ordered blinds 3-4 times since 2000.
Know what you need; you can figure out by their good instructions.
Measure atleast 3 times, when you follow their instruction's my orders were exact.

Repaired Blinds

I recently had 2 different sets of blinds with broken pull cords. Both sets were repaired and worked perfectly.
I had difficulty re-installing one set of blinds and after calling them, they immediately came out and installed the blinds.
I recommend them highly if you are encountering problems with your blinds. They are extremely reliable, friendly, and have great customer service.

Factory "adjusts" your blind measurements

I ordered 5 blinds for our master bedroom; as a retired Engineer I measured VERY carefully as per their instructions. The blinds came in 3/8" less than the measurement resulting in a substantial gap and light entering each side. I'm told "the factory makes adjustments to insure a fit". I can understand a small adjustment to reduce returns but 3/8"?? No reply so far from Customer Service on a solution.

Poor customer service

I tried to cancel my order TWO HOURS after receiving an email that estimated ship date would be 5-10 days longer than estimated ship dates at check-out. That's bait and switch! Customer service woman Jazmin M told me it was "not possible because it was put into production". TWELVE DAYS to make ONE blinds? Also, their sales are BOGUS. The day after I ordered, they had 30% sale but the price was ONE CENT cheaper than previous day 26% sale because they INCREASED regular price so at the end of the day, they would still pocket the same amount regardless of what "sale" is.

Buyer Be Ware

Have you heard the term Bait and Switch? What would you call it when you order blinds costing $86.92 and then nearly two months later and you have received no blinds or updates, they tell you the manufacturer is behind on orders and not responding to Steve's Blinds inquires. However, Steve's Blinds is willing to go with a different manufacturer and will only cost an additional $164.42.

Black out blinds that have 2 inches of light coming in on all sides? I don’t think that’s a quality predict that does what it’s suppose to. Poorly made produced by a company that won’t stand behind it. 3 blinds for our kids room that are not useable

Every blind in my home came from…

Every blind in my home came from Steve's. Two of my blinds quit working. So I made the mistake to order on line. When the blinds I currently have weren't available anymore I ordered a different type blind. When I received the blind it wasn't the color that it looked on line, plus they didn't fit the window properly. I left a message on the phone but no one called me back. So I called again and spoke with a customer service rep, I was informed that the company doesn't give refunds. I told the customer service rep that they should list that on their website. She said it was listed on the website. But it is not. I will be stuck with Two blinds I can't use. But I am currently building a new home and I won't be ordering from them again.

I am very disappointed in Steve's…

I am very disappointed in Steve's Blinds & Wallpaper's customer service! Last Feb. 2021 I wanted to order a pair of wooden shutters but I wanted them unfinished so I could have my contractor custom stain & finish them for me. The agent wanted to send me a sample before placing my order. After weeks, I did not receive them. I called 2 different times and was told they had been shipped yet I never got them. I finally went ahead and ordered them without seeing the sample as I wanted to complete my renovation.

After weeks I finally received the shutters but the manufacturer reversed the measurements & were unusable. I was finally able to get them to compensate me for all the trouble and wanted time. Weeks & weeks passed and I called for the status. I was told the manufacturer had shipped them and gave me the date. Yet, no shutters! Finally I received the 2nd order. The frames were not the ones I ordered but they confirmed that they were the ones on the order. Obviously even though I gave the agent the frame choice I wanted (he even emailed me a photo to confirm that it was the frame I wanted,) he ordered the incorrect frame & I did not know until I received them so I was stuck with them.

When I finally received the shutters, my contractor stained, finished, and installed them. Once installed, the louvers were obviously crooked! I called for the 3rd time & sent photos. When I eventually received the THIRD set, I asked to be compensated for my cost to pay my contractor to uninstall the flawed set, then stain, finish, & re-install the replacements. Why should I have to pay my installer TWICE for a mistake the manufacturer made! My request for compensation was denied and I was told the Supervisor asked that if they were flawed when they arrived, why did I not say something then? Well, it was not initially noticeable until they were mounted and the sun coming through the louvers that it was obvious they were crooked! They replaced them but gave me no compensation!

I have ordered blinds from Steve’s Blinds and wallpaper 3 different times and I must say that every experience was pleasant. They were upfront with the amount of time it would take to ship but I actually got them earlier. Their prices are easy on the wallet, which I like. The sales people especially Billy, were very friendly and helpful. I most definitely will buy from them in the future.

Placed an order on 5/27

Placed an order on 5/27. Received order confirmation, which said due to COVID, blind would not ship until 7/9. Ok I can live with that. On 7/11, I call as it does not show blind has shipped. They customer service person, then calls the plant to find that the material is on backorder until 9/25. They claim they do not know unless the call plant that it is on backorder. (So I check other blind websites that offer this same material...right on their website, that material shows as backordered. )
While the offer to help me find a new material, I am so angry I say just cancel. I have already waited 6 weeks, oh and did I say they had my money for six weeks?
Receive an email on 7/16 that order cancelled and receive a refund within 72 hours. 12 days, no refund. So I disputed the charge directly with credit card company.
Do not order from these people. If, in fact, they do not know when you order if items on on backorder, then for sure you shouldn’t do business with them

A few years ago I bought a roman shade…

A few years ago I bought a roman shade from Steve's that I was happy with. And I've found customer service there to be very good. BUT, recently I bought another shade of the same type, same color, and it is inferior in quality to the first. It was shipped directly from China. I wouldn't have minded the Chinese manufacture if the quality had been good, but it was not.

Also, although I submitted a review to Steve's site, it hasn't been posted, which makes me feel that the reviews on their site are not really representative.

Slow, poor quality, poor customer service

Placed an order for roman shades on 8/12. They said it would take approx 5 days. Did not receive until 8/21. I was surprised with the quality. Workmanship is shoddy, the fabric had runs and dirty stains and did not include any bracket (only screws). They expect me to install large heavy fabric shades with just 3 screws? I called them on 8/22 with the issues. They said they can make another one but given the poor quality, I told them I just wanted to return for a refund. They said no refund, only store credit. This is 100% satisfaction guarantee??? I told them that's not acceptable. They said they have to contact the factory (in Mexico) and get approval. I'm still waiting for them (as of 8/28) to get back to me. I will only order from a more reputable company next time. I should have read their reviews before ordering from them.

They charge your card when you order

They charge your card when you order. I never got any emails about updates it take them so long to ship when you call to check the status of your order the only thing they answer is it’s in production they told me they will update me. they will send me email. I never got any email.
find better places to order shades and wallpaper

We ordered the Good Room Darkening…

We ordered the Good Room Darkening Blinds from Steve's Blinds & Wallpaper. It was disappointing to receive them. I put the blinds up and there was no room darkening whatsoever. It was a one-ply piece of fabric that you could see through. I could have gotten the same cheap blinds at a local store for a lot less. When I called and emailed, I was told that they won't darken the room. I needed to order the blackout shades to do that. What a scam! At least change the name Good Room Darkening Blinds. That is misleading and false advertising. I would give zero stars if it was a choice. The customer service that I received was poor. I am still waiting to hear back from them after they requested photos be sent to them.

Steve's Blinds Valence Issue

Bought some horizontal blinds from Steve's Blinds for two bedrooms. The actual MFR is Century Blinds. Their valence design and installation are flawed. In the first shipment half the valence brackets were broken and I then broke a couple more. Cheap brittle plastic appears problematic. The bigger problem is the clip portion of the valence bracket will not install if the headrail is flush with the wall. I've installed a couple dozen of these blinds over the years and NONE of them have this stupid design. In trying to communicate this with Steve's I sent pictures, and explained the problem in detail to include a phone call. All I've gotten in return is a forwarded Century Blinds reply from Steve's that does not address the issue. I've asked to talk directly with Century but Steve's insists they must mediate. Bottom line is I'll have to devise my own way to attach the valences. It's obvious Steve's has no hands-on experience or they simply don't give a hoot. Won't be buying from them again.

Stick with Bali - cost savings not worth the problems of dealing with Steve's

I ordered all the blinds for my downstairs from Steve's Blinds. At the same time I ordered all my upstairs blinds from Bali. Bali's were at my house in 5 days. Steve's took over 2 weeks.

EVERY one of the Steve's Blinds was short, especially on the left side, and one of the blinds didn't retract at all. I called them and they said to send pictures. I sent pictures, and they sent an autoreply saying I would hear from them within 24 hours - and usually in 2 hours. Well, 48 hours later I CALLED THEM because there was no response. Their reply? Oh, please send the measurements of the blinds. Why I had to do that I don't know because they had the measurements on the order! But I did that for them, received another auto reply about how they'll get back to me. 48 hours later I initiated another call.

Then their idea was that the factory would send me some troubleshooting information. Well that NEVER came. So, I call them again, 48 hours later, and ask where that toubleshooting info was. No good answer. They'll contact the factory and get back to me. Ummmmmm.... Not so much. 48 hours later I call them back and ask what the factory said. "Oh the factory must have forgotten."

Now, after two more of my calls to chase them down, they are asking me to "please send one of the blinds back to us so we can look at it." I told them I don't have a box, and that they ought to send me a shipping label. The customer rep said that she would do that. Today, 5 days later, I call them and ask where the box and label are. The customer rep says that the factory didn't have a box for my size - 28" wide. For crying out loud, THEY sent them to me in boxes they CUSTOM MAKE to fit the blinds!!! Make another one! But no, the poor phone rep says she will try to find me a box and send it.

So here I am, over a month after ordering, and over 11 days after installing these blinds, with light leaking everywhere, waiting for some poor girl to find me a box and send me a shipping label, and I'm very unhappy with this company!

Did I mention that my Bali blinds are BEAUTIFUL, every one of them long enough, evenly hung, and in full working order? And the price differential was definitely not worth the problems of dealing with Steve's Blinds!

I ordered 3 defective blinds

I ordered 3 defective blinds. The cord lock is defective so the blinds cannot be lowered by pulling the cord to the left. I finally got one to lower and two slats are in the same slot. It has been a nightmare dealing with the company. Keep getting responses to emails "Someone will call in 24-48 hours, which doesn't happen. Web chats end with "customer service will call" I would never purchase from them again

Many mistakes, poor quality

While they were always willing to replace wrong or broken order, there were a LOT of mistakes and final product was cheap-looking and of very poor quality

Lousy customer service

My blinds came 1" too wide. It may have been my error and I was more than willing to pay whatever I needed to to get them cut to the proper width so I could use them. They were expensive. I contacted Stevesblindsandwallpaper for advice and help. Several days later I finally got a call with a curt, "There is nothing we can do. Maybe you can find a local place that can cut them". No help, no service, no bother for them. They have my money and customer service is at an end. They won't get my service again though. I wasn't asking for anything for free. I needed help and I'm not even convinced it was my mistake! I have ordered many, many blinds for my large Bed and Breakfast over the last year and got them dead on every time. I expected more and I'm dissapointed. I wouldn't chance buying from these guys. They don't care about you.
