Unprofessional.

I don’t understand what happened but my last job was not paid. I have requested a withdrawal and it’s still pending. I have sent multiple emails to their support but with no answer!!! I want my money!!!

Shame on this language service company. I haven't been paid yet for a job done in May. Another job done in Feb took months to get paid with multiple emails back and forth. I will NEVER take jobs from them. Period.

I have been working with Stepes for many years and everything was ok. This year something must have changed because every time I am trying to withdraw my money I have problems. Each time they find a different excuse. They still owe me money earned in April and May though it's June already. I don't plan to work for them anymore, I just want to receive my money.

Still no payment for work I did over two months ago. No real replies either, just lies about PayPal payments supposedly still being processed. Their so-called support doesn't reply either. They must be destroyed and their owner and management held accountable.

I completed multiple projects for Stepes between February and March 2025, and was due to receive payment of $299.39 USD on April 19. That date passed — no funds, no notice. I was told to try again on April 23 due to a system issue. Again, nothing. Then told to wait until May 23. Still no payment.

I only received a response after I publicly commented on one of their LinkedIn posts, at which point they said the funds were “disbursed” but still pending approval — and asked me to delete my post.

As of today, I remain unpaid. I have filed complaints with the FTC and BBB. Stepes has demonstrated poor communication, a lack of transparency, and no respect for freelancers’ time or work.

I strongly caution anyone considering working on their platform.

Do not pay their translators! When I try to withdraw my accumulated earnings, a system message says that an audit is ongoing, and they cannot pay. This has persisted for months!

Terrible services. Didn´t deliver as promised. Customer service unresponsive.

I have used the stepes.com.It is 100% real an benefit.People do the work of translation and earn a handsome amount.I have also done it.

I have used stepes twice, to translate official documents. On both occasions, the translations have been accurate and timely. The service is relatively easy to use and the communication good. However they have twice overcharged us, and failed to address the issues.

1. I selected an option to have a certificate certifying the translation. This options was listed in the tick box, as free. After the work had been finished I requested the certificate and was told it would cost 25$. I explained in detail, that it had been listed as a free option, but received no response.

2. I then noticed that our bank account had been charged more than the invoice. I spent several weeks chasing this up. Eventually I was told it was because of the exchange rate. I explained that they advertised their rates in euros, invoiced us in euros and therefore we should have been charged correctly in euros. Any difference on the exchange rate should have nothing to do with us. Again, I have not received any responses from any of the people I had been in contact with.

I have already wasted too much time chasing this, so I am choosing to write it off at our own expense. For anybody considering using Stepes.com, I would suggest you save yourselves the time and money and use one of the many other services out there. Stepes may be good value in the short term, but not in the long run. Which is a shame.

Update 18.03.21 - Further to the above, we have now received a reimbursement for the difference in the exchange rate. I hope for their sakes, this was a one off, bad experience.
