They didn't even uphold their own rules! 😡 In my opinion they are, at best, unfit for purpose and, at worst, utterly corrupt! 😡

SRA is not fit for purpouse; and its a waste of public money.

I approached them with complaint about lying solicitors from global firm, supporting my claim.with evidences. . . and was told they dont see a problem. Maybe if court (ET/EAT) make judgment stating they was in fact lying and using DARVO; they may reopen my case

Transparency ....lack of SRA

The SRA are not transparent and I am shocked that they have covered up for corrupt solicitors. I WILL NOT give up and will be taking action. The whole system is built to make you give up. I won't ....I hope I can help to make a change for everyone who suffers and needs help and support...watch this space Samantha

Shameful

Pernicious org.

Several useless and utterly clueless "caseworkers" helped an unscrupulous solicitor steal my elderly and vulnerable relative's £1M estate, who was on their deathbed and had no idea of the solicitor's scheming. This public body cannot seriously be a real organisation? Provided dozens of pages of documents and records proving in no uncertain terms the entire process and timeline of the solicitor's deceit and wrongdoing, constantly lying with every breath they take, a total inability to keep track of what they stated previously (not even as though the solicitor is a good liar). Nothing has been done, and the SRA, in particular its employees, are absolutely complicit in the filth they continuously subject ordinary society to. They claim honesty is one of their principles and they urgently investigate if this or any of their other "principles" are not being adhered to, this is laughable if not utterly depressing along with everything else they purportedly stand for. They know only one thing: dishonesty. It is very sad to see some of the reviews, these people are a big part of the problem: they are encouraging corruption and solicitors to act abominably, and everything they do completely contravenes public interest. Disgraceful.

I concur with everything that has been said below. They are on the side of corrupt solicitors who get away with writing bullying letters based on lies not facts.
Don't waste your time and energy, you wont get anywhere.
No idea why they are allowed to continue as an organisation.

Don't bother at all I'm not sure who they actually work for but my guess. It certainly isn't the poor clients ripped of by dodgy firms who are a law to themselves.

Without investigating I'm advised no wrong doing.

Honestly don't bother even calling them they do not support your case and as you can see by the one star reviews I'm not alone in those thoughts.

A corrupt 'protection racket'

Blatant 'protection racket' for corrupted solicitors involved in abuse.
Complete farce.
Don't follow their own published principles and typically keep complaint (cover up) off their response.
No more integrity than common crooks.
A disgrace to the legal system

The SRA is an independent organisation funded by law firms and independent of the Law Society.

The SRA is a commercial organisation, run (partly) by solicitors, funded by solicitors and is independent of the government and the Law Society. Is it any wonder then that they appear to do all in their power to protect solicitors from valid complaints from the public?
When I first filed my complaint four months ago about my conveyancer, I had high hopes that the multiple unethical, negligent actions and clear breaches of the regulations would be appropriately addressed and action taken to prevent them happening again, causing even more misery for their clients.
My only agenda when launching the complaint was to right wrongs and ensure these wrongs would not continue to be perpetrated by a firm - which already has 7 complaints to the Ombudsman (all upheld), 2 SRA sanctions and 2 High Court Orders against it.
How wrong I was! My assessor and the conveyancer’s compliance officer seemed to be best buddies and my coherent and well researched complaints were (eventually) responded to with a litany of ‘I have asked the compliance officer to explain,’ or ‘I have received an explanation.’
I am genuinely astonished at how the SRA bends over backwards to help their firms – it reminds me of the Roman guards who would form a circle of shields to protect their generals. It seems we have no way in.

Petition filed with parliament to abolish SRA

TAKE NOTICE that a petition has been filed with a parliamentary committee to investigate serious misconduct and racism within the SRA, and calls for this institution, which serves no valuable purpose other than to discredit the legal profession, to be abolished. That petition has been acknowledged with further guidance to complete the process for submission to a parliamentary committee. Copies of the pleadings in the Employment Tribunal can be found on the website of AL Law LLP

I submitted a complaint which clearly explained how a solicitor was in contempt of court

I submitted a complaint which clearly explained how a solicitor had lied to the court. She was in contempt of court. In the adjudication my evidence was totally ignored. It was not mentioned in the either the initial dismissal of my complaint or in the follow up complaints.
It seems as thought the SRA is there to protect solicitors and not the public.
This seems to follow the pattern of other regulatory authorities. We note cover ups un the blood sandal and in the Post Office scandal.
I also complained to her senior partner who ignored me. The SRA said this is OK as I was not a client of his. What are senior partners for? Would this happen on other professions?

SRA guidelines are a farce.

SRA professional guidelines are pointless, no matter how many breaches by one solicitor- all totally dismissed by SRA. Just another part of a totally corrupt legal system !! Yet another untrustworthy organisation.

CORRUPT ORGANISATION

CORRUPT ORGANISATION
SRA Code of Conduct is a worthless fabrication!
They will protect solicitor malpractice at any cost.
Stone-walled by Paul Phillip the C.E.O.
Years of endless communications dealing with 22 different people in different departments have resulted in no action at all. Total refusal to address solicitor malpractice, despite intervening and closing down the practice fourteen months ago!

A regulator that has no idea that the very Solicitors they regulate are willing to be dishonest, lack any integrity and willing to conceal their involvement in committing criminal offences.

Human beings have a great capacity for wrongdoing. It’s an attribute that is unique in the world of life. We can and do make things worse, voluntarily, with full knowledge of what we are doing (as well as accidentally, and carelessly, and in a manner that is wilfully blind). – Jordan B. Peterson 2018

It has become exceptionally clear that Experian’s Legal Director whom was admitted to the SRA register back in 1993, along with the other seventeen solicitors working within Experian’s Legal Department have all shown a complete disregard for any of the rules & regulations set out by the industry body along with UK Law & Legislation in particular the criminal offence committed under The Theft Act 1968 Section 17 False Accounting. This is compounded by the fact the criminal offence has been committed against The Executor of the Estate that holds a Grant Of Probate as issued by The High Court.

If junior solicitors are willing to ‘turn a blind eye’ to the appalling standards set by Experian’s Legal Director, then it would appear the poor practise’s of the company will continue to slide.

When registered & regulated individuals show such contempt for the system they should comply with, then there can be no surprise that these same individuals are willing to abuse the wider society that the regulator should be protecting!

SRA service levels are well below what…

SRA service levels are well below what you would expect for a regulator, so disappointed in their delay in coming back to me for something so simple. I have constantly had to chase them for months to get them to come back to me with updates, etc. I was able to call them initially this morning and was told I will get an email sent to me today. Now their direct line goes straight to voicemail everytime and I am yet to receive their email.

This lot are in contravention of the Trade Descriptions Act - SRA stands for the Solicitors Republican Army, and they are definately NOT a Regulator, but allegedly SRA are Regulated by the Legal Services Board ?
Could be worth lobbying the Corrupt, semi-literate, dark glasses wearing SRA staff as they come in and out of their Birmingham office, along with raising discontent about their Corruption on their phone lines.

Don’t bother using the SRA…

I was aware that they would probably side with the solicitor but I have been stunned at the blatant disregard for evidence. They don’t read evidence properly, never apologise and seek to wear you out emotionally so that you give up. It’s a pointless and futile exercise to complain unless you have some media clout.
The SRA needs a complete overhaul.

FAKE set up by solicitors to protect solicitors.

These people will do NOTHING for justice or to help you, makes no difference if you supply them with plenty of documentation and proof they will find an excuse to do nothing and legalised crooks continue to make money in this corrupt system.

The SRA is more corrupt and colluded than the corrupt solicitors they protect, Google "Corruption UK Solicitors Regulation Authority in £33m cover-up" will give you a pretty good example...

Disheartening Experience: Solicitors Regulation Authority Fails to Uphold Justice

I recently had an interaction with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) that left me feeling disappointed and disillusioned. Despite their supposed role as guardians of legal integrity, my experience with them was far from satisfactory.

The SRA failed to provide the assistance and support that I desperately needed. Instead of upholding justice and advocating for individuals, it felt as though they were more concerned with protecting the interests of solicitors, including Merali Beedle, whose actions were questionable at best.

What's worse, my brother tried to seek assistance from the SRA on multiple occasions, offering them concrete evidence and proof regarding the misconduct of Merali Beedle. However, his efforts were met with total disregard as the SRA ignored his emails and telephone calls. This blatant refusal to even review the evidence presented to them leaves us questioning how any form of justice can be attained if the organization entrusted with regulating solicitors refuses to acknowledge legitimate concerns.

By failing to address our grievances and neglecting their duty to regulate solicitors effectively, the SRA has undermined the public's trust in the legal profession. It is disheartening to see an organization tasked with upholding ethical standards fall short of its responsibilities.

Overall, my experience with the Solicitors Regulation Authority was deeply disappointing. Their failure to take action against solicitors like Merali Beedle, coupled with their reluctance to assist individuals in need and their refusal to review evidence, raises serious questions about their commitment to justice and accountability within the legal profession. I would advise anyone seeking recourse from the SRA to temper their expectations and explore alternative avenues for resolution.
