A complete waste of time and public…

Unfortunately, this is one more negative review of the SRA that demonstrates what a complete waste of time and public resources it is. It seems that all these professional regulators do, is to cover for those they are meant to regulate which is against the public interest and undermines the justice system.

Ms Melanie Isherwood of Weightmans defended the NHS in court proceedings but deliberately manipulated court directions and Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) to obtain advantage and prevent a fair process from taking place. By adopting a creative litigation strategy and developing an array of procedural tactics plagued by misconduct and fraud, Ms Isherwood ensured due process did not happen. Ms Isherwood’s dishonesty and misconduct made it impossible for there to be a fair trial.
When evidence of this was submitted to the SRA to investigate in the public interest they refused to investigate... the SRA is not interested in allegations of fraud because it defends the fraudsters.

Melanie Isherwood has escaped prison and Weightmans has had their multi million pound contracts with the Government renewed.

Absolutely a complete utter waste of…

Absolutely a complete utter waste of time. This outfit should not be allowed to operate. I had lots of evidence of dishonesty with a large firm of solicitors. After initially losing the files in one of their portals we were told it would be best answered by the legal ombudsman.
I knew that the level of dishonesty was a case of for the SRA. The legal ombudsman was equally as useless and said it was a case for the SRA. I don’t think a professional person works in this organisation. I certainly did not come across one. They certainly seem like they do not want to Russel the feathers of a law firm. I have since read the other reviews and surprise everyone else has had terrible experiences just like we did.
When can this pile of ——- be shut down and a proper unit be set that is fit for purpose. SRA you are utterly useless and wasted a lot of our time, well done.

Protecting their own

I complained about a solicitor who had clearly cheated in an exam/coursework situation. He even sent a WhatsApp admitting it and demanding money for his help. But the SRA threw the case out for lack of evidence. The case was handled by a so-called investigating officer who did zero investigating. The SRA claimed it needed more evidence (i.e. from the academic institution / examine body) which I as a third party was clearly incapable of getting, due to GDPR rules. Yet the SRA made no effort to obtain this evidence themselves. And so the solicitor carries on as an expensive City lawyer, without even a reprimand. There’s no point in complaining, because the SRA says its initial verdict will always stand.

Olympic Standard Lying

Managed to take lying and incompetence to another level. Their staff have not even read the garbage that they put on their own website. If you actually believed their website they would have to dismiss all of their own staff and the arrogant, obnoxious half wit they pay to impartially agree with garbage they produce.

A waste of time as per the Legal Ombudsman

As per the Legal Ombudsman, they are a total waste of time and exist to protect that self-perpetuating body that call themselves Solicitors. Yes, there are some good Solicitors but too many that fall short get away with incompetence. I had a very incompetent family Solicitor (Richard Gabb in Shrewsbury) that has caused no end of stress and the SRA asked for the Legal Ombudsman report that I had received, only to lift from that and come up with exactly the same conclusion. But added a p.s. "Oh but we might have missed something so you can complain about us" .... knowing full well that I will be facing a brick wall!!!!!!!

Fails to hold dishonest solicitors to account

With evidence of a solicitor’s firm dishonesty, which contributed to the unnatural death of a vulnerable adult. Rather than conduct a credible investigation the SRA responded they had taken the assurances of the senior solicitor that the firm had not acted in bad faith.

No wonder the SRA receive the 1 star rating

What An Absolute Sham

If you told me that SRA stands for Sham Regulation Authority, I'd believe you, because I certainly don't believe that this organisation does anything to truly instil faith in the legal profession.

After my experience with the SRA, I've come to the conclusion that dishonest solicitors know that they get away with whatever they want because we dim-witted members of the public will have our legitimate and very obvious complaints dismissed with gaslighting or jargon.

Facilitating solicitor abuses

After reading the reviews here i wrote to the CEO of SRA, Paul Philip and asked him to confirm if they protected their member firms or the public. I wrote three times, he refused to answer.

When SRA invited me to put in a complaint, i sent evidence showing what i believe to be a firm of solicitors not complying with court orders, and other multiple, evidenced concerns.

Their conclusion was not to investigate. This is what i expected, they wasted my time spent in carefully preparing the complaint and evidence and have probably provided it to the solicitors who have abused their fiduciary duty of care and refused to account for my fathers estate.

The SRA allow them to continue in their abuses. They wouldn't even investigate!

Utterly useless organization

Utterly useless organization. They operate slower than a snail's pace and are inept when they finally do get around to doing something. They should be ashamed of themselves, but I doubt they understand shame.

The SRA are a public scandal

The SRA are a public scandal. They trumpet their priority as being the public consumer but they could not care less. The organisation is inward looking and concentrates only on its own existence to provide jobs for many who have absolutely no idea what they are doing. The CEO does not reply to any correspondence. However I shall be taking this up with the national press in an attempt to force SRA to take notice particularly of all the people on this review who have had similar experiences with no comment from the SRA at all. If you read their own material they expect their members to comment on bad reviews. It is a shame, as always, they do not follow their own demands and advice. I challenge the SRA to make a response too this

Rotten to the Core

After ten weeks I am still awaiting a reply.
I rang their help desk 5 times last week and they passed my query onto the Report team.
The report team insist they replied but will not resend me the details.
I can only speak to the help desk as the Report Team refuse to communicate with me !!!!!!
I mentioned the investigating solicitor in an earlier post but SRA reported me so my complaint was removed.
My case Ref :- RGC 000074251
SRA , I know you read the reviews but why are you so arrogant to reply ???????????
Too busy trying to justify your jobs in your ivory towers.
Members fees ae far more important than complaints from their clients.
You are simply not fit for purpose , even worse than the Legal Ombudsman (that really is some achievement)

SRA Public Dissgrace

Public Dissgrace.
I reported a Solicitor's deliberate and obviouse acts of disshonesty, acting for his own gains and against the interests of his client. That he not only deliberately lied to me, which I gave SRA unquestionable proof and evidence of that supports his disshonesty beyond question. The SRA's response is an absolute dissgrace, they are a complete con.
In my opinion their sole purpose is to protect, and absolve Solicitors and legal professionals who are complained against. They are acting and practising every thing that is against, justice, fairness, and the publics well being. Their sole practice is to act against the public, and to defend, protect and support their Legal colleagues, against any allegation, including disshonesty, fraud or any abuse of public trust.
They seem to be a law for themselves, and have no respect for the public, its like a private club, despite what they preach and print, they do the very opposite.

They are not fit for purpose, they act against the public interest, and will only take action if it is likely the media or public will find out.ie if they are caught out.
I reported serious acts of, deliberate lying, neglect, incompetance, and disshonesty, from a Solicitor from Wakefield.
His actions led to another Solicitors act of disshonesty being time barred and struck out. He lied to me by having me wait years for a response to a part 36 offer in Aug 2017. I found out from another of his colleagues a Mr Jones that he had never even sent it, three years later.
Despite Mr Large further lying to me "that they had declined your offer". He continually refused to answer about it, and when he did he deliberately lied to me, telling me finally in July 2020 they had declined the offer. A Colleague Mr Jones of Jordans finally had no choice but to admit to me in Oct 2020 that the part36 offer, had never been sent, despite me awaiting this response more than three years.

Mr Large had deliberately delayed my case, and he even and took a further £3,000 from my award, for his delays, blaming me for his delays, and this was ontop of his 25% fee.

These instances were clearly supported by the evidence, but the SRA, are allowing people like him to do what they please.

The SRA in my opinion are clearly supporting acts of professional disshonesty, supporting lying Solicitors, and turning a blind eye to Fraud and deception by Solicitors, a number of whom are actually members of the 'Law panel's, this is how corrupt our legal system is. Solicitors have no fear from the SRA, whatsoever, in fact they know they can rely on them to turn the other cheek.

The whole experience of the SRA can be read on the review of SRA complaints, such as here,. They speak volumes.

The SRA should be dissbanded as soon as possible, they do not serve the general public in any form, they work against the public well being, and only support self preservation of the members of the legal profession.

It is an absolute dissgrace that they fail the public,
They let down the most needy and the most poorest peoples of this country, who are left with anger and dissbelief.

I intend to write a reveiw regarding the acts of this solicitor, but I was awaiting the SRA's response, but after more than a year, they (SRA) clearly put two fingers up.

Unhelpful and frustrating to communicate with.

My complaint was about my mental health solicitor who I found to be untrustworthy with traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

I had some communication problems with the SRA complaints officer which took a few months to resolve. He wasn’t always making sense, and when I would log in to my email account I kept being informed that unusual activity had been detected on my account. It made me wonder if someone had been intercepting our emails. I wrote a letter to the SRA asking if someone else could deal with the complaint by letter instead. They replied to say that they considered the complaints officer to have communicated clearly, and their decision to take no further action would remain the same.

A couple of months later when my support worker called the SRA on my behalf, we were informed that they have no record on their database of the name of the person who answered my letter. Then a few weeks later we were able to speak on the phone with the complaints officer who had been dealing with my case, and it turned out that the communication problems had just been a miscommunication of sorts. However, I’m finding it difficult to understand how he could have communicated so incoherently unless it had been intentional, so I think we just got played. The complications, and the difficulty in getting the complaints officer to simply explain himself when I asked him to, have left me with the feeling that something hasn’t quite been adding up.

I would not trust this organisation to care or to help. It’s been an emotional strain to say the least. Thank you for listening.

Utterly Pointless!

There is something deeply fishy about this 'organisation.' Their website stresses how it is a serious offense to operate as a Solicitor if you are not qualified as one, and that ALL qualified Solicitors will be registered with the SRA. AND it is vital for any Solicitor to disclose a mental health issue. I reported my abusive ex partner who was claiming to be a Lawyer, (her South African term for Solicitor,) but insisted that I break the law for her on two occasions. (I didn't!) I gave a full and thorough report, saying that she would not have disclosed having Borderline Personality Disorder. Their response: They couldn't find anyone of that name registered with them, but they could see her website offering legal services, and operating as a Solicitor. Errrr, well then...isn't it up to you to investigate???!! "But we don't have anyone registered with us of that name!" Well of course you blimin' haven't - that is exactly the reason why I'm reporting it. Honestly, what is wrong with them??? THEY need reporting. It's like going to the Police after witnessing a burglary, giving full description...where the Police say that they are unable to do anything on the grounds that 'they didn't see it.' The SRA has got to be some sort of prank, surely

A facade with a fancy title and nothing more.

Regulatory in name only. How can I possibly paraphrase (without using expletives) what has already been said by 100% of reviewers.
Don't build your hopes up in the expectation that they will even acknowledge any 'evidence' that you provide them with, or even expect them to answer any very reasonable questions that you may ask them, as they will be intentionally evaded.

Due to my first hand encounter with the SRA, I am of the firm opinion that it is sleazy, dysfunctional and detrimental to the public, as you can see I am not in the minority, 100% negative! I had provided indisputable evidence that a solicitor had blatantly breached their own 'principles' by committing a 'conflict of interest' and also repeatedly providing 'disinformation', yet no further action was taken by these so called 'regulators'..

You will also note that they are flagging negative reviews about them up on Trustpilot and are not open to criticism. I had to begrudgingly retract my use of the word 'criminal' when they complained to Trustpilot, though that is my 'opinion'

This is nothing short of an attempt at 'damage limitation' on their part, as a few 'HUNDRED' negative reviews are not reflective of the 'THOUSANDS' of people that they must have offended in reality.

Please also sign the 'UK Justice Is Broken' petition (Trustpilot don't allow links, unlike the SRA I adhere to the rules )
“Something has to give here!” This corrupt organisation and its staff deserve prosecution.
