WARRANTY NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT IS WRITTEN ON
We bought a car 6 months ago and have a warranty with Spoticar- I would honestly recommend using a different garage if they are in any way associated with Spoticar. There is a reason they have an average of 1.7 stars on here. They make it almost impossible for you to get any repairs done with the warranty. Also takes ages to get through to them on the phone- probably because they have so many people trying to deal with the hoops they put in front of you to jump through.

Amir Freddy Kahn v Jason is what it seems my verical a year after buying from main deal, new breaks all new tires
First month of ownership went back half a dozen times apparently had new starter yet starts up dodgy every other time suspension hard one minute squeaky the next, don’t like going in gear up hills can’t yet they can’t find no fault payed for extended warrenty12 months they say it’s fixed or can’t find a fault cracking job I can even list the ingredients and tell them how to do it, but if it passed the mot it must be ok
Absolutely disgraceful customer…
Absolutely disgraceful customer service, I have tried relentlessly to contact the company with no response. The agreement on purchasing my car was to get two free services but that promise has been broken and of-course no one will get back to me to discuss. Please be very cautious with this company.
Spoticar - Not for the faint hearted.
I bought a Vauxhall Astra from a Stellantis dealer with a 12 Spoticar warranty. The car had a full documented service history. I knew the car had been serviced at an independent garage twice out of the three services it had received.I checked the independent garage and all seemed OK with them.
After approximately 2 months of ownership the EML ( engine management light) began to illuminate. After checking a few basics I contact Spoticar to inform them of the issue. I was told to book the car in at a VAT registered garage. I had the car examined at a Vauxhall dealership. I was told there was a Technical Service Bulletine from Vauxhall on this particular engine. The repair was a new engine. After I picked myself up off the floor, I picked the car up, paid the diagnosis fee and continued to drive the car with Vauxhalls consent. The car regularly went into limp mode. The garage themselves contacted Spoticar and I was asked to return the car so a Spoticar assessor could assess the car himself. This is where the problem with Spoticar started. There was some kind of dispute between Spoticar and Vauxhall. If the car was fully serviced by a Vauxhall dealer Vauxhall may have contributed to the cost. But they wouldn't because the car had not been serviced by Vauxhall and stated they needed prove that the correct oil be used. I will not bore you with all the dealings and phonecalls to Sporticar but they took 3 months to agree to pay up. Meanwhile I drove around in a car which wasn't really fit for purpose. It looks like the delay was if the car had been serviced by Vauxhall with prove the correct oil had been used, Vauxhall would have paid percentage. But the independent garage although hey stated they always use correct specification oil could not prove on receipts etc.
I know it was a massive repair bill but Spoticar should have authorised my repair straight away. I had done nothing wrong. In the end Spoticar settled in full. It was a worrying time for me and caused a few sleepless nights. I give them 3 stars because they eventually did pay up, but 3 months wait isn't really on. Spoticar always answered the phone etc but could not authorise anything. It was the Spoticar assessor who was in charge, I never managed to contact him throughout. The car is fixed now and seems OK.

Warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on! Do not buy a car with this warranty on! They do not want to help just reject all claims!
worthless warranty
I don't know if the whole of the motor industry is beset by the issues highlighted in these reviews, but I found a string of similar issues. A Peugeot main dealer sold me an extended warranty, when the engine failure light came on I assumed wrongly that it would be dealt with relatively quickly, they offered me dates months ahead into next January to get diagnostics done.
I found one main agent that would do the diagnostics but not honour the warranty due to "past poor experiences" with Spotify, but at exorbitant cost, I will use my local garage and pay their reasonable charges.
If they can avoid paying out they will
The warranty through this company is basically a waste of time. I specifically bought the car I did due to the year warranty and was reassured that it was a good warranty. Now I need a repair Spoticar are doing everything they can to make it so hard to try to claim to avoid paying out. They are basically a scam outfit who take your money but don’t want to pay out. I will never buy a car from a garage that uses this company.
Shocking customer service
Shocking customer service. Purchased a lease deal back in May and was promised a £500 fuel card as part of the package. Still waiting to receive it nearly 4 months on. No one from Spoticar wants to take responsibility for the error or sort it out. I’ve been passed back and forth between different case handlers, different phone numbers and no one has addressed the issue.
People give them a bad rep
From a personal perspective I can’t grumble with Spoticar warranty.
In 2023 I first had a adblue issue with my Peugeot 3008 which resulted in needing a new adblue tank. Spoticar authorised the repair and was completed in a timely manner.
In 2025 (the last year of my extended warranty) I was driving and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, pulled over and wouldn’t start.
After diagnostics, it was found the timing belt had jumped causing some internal damage to the engine.
Spoticar again authorised the full amount of the repair. Granted I haven’t had my car for 5 weeks but that is potentially a communication issue with the dealership and warranty.
Overall can’t complain as my extended warranty has saved me well over £5000 in repairs!
Worst car search site ever
Worst car search site ever. How on earth they get car companies to use them is unbelievable. Given this site a few tries but last time today.
Hourly labour rate hidden pitfall.
Purchased a car from a Peterborough main Citroen dealer with Spoticar warranty - wonderful. Any problems sir, just take it to your nearest Citroen dealer. Car needed warranty work doing so took it to Perrys in Milton Keynes (Citroen dealer). Apparently Spoticar only pay £100 per hour for warranty work and Perrys charge £198! Yes, £198 per hour! So Spoticar warranty is as useful as a chocolate tea pot. Yes, you can eat the pot, but can't make tea.
Very bad experience because the sales…
Very bad experience because the sales man on selby nothing explained about the vehicle warranty and he haven't given any spoticar extended warranty booklet at the time of purchase. When we faced a problem with the car and went to showroom for repair and asked about the warranty he said our vehicle exhaust system issue doesn't cover in warranty and he lied us that he already told about these things earlier. I can't believe this how these people behaving like this. How can we trust . I want to tell you this for God sake if you handling the clients especially purchase time please tell them clearly about pros and cons about the vehicle and whether they have warranty or not . Don't trap any clients like this to save your sales
Frustrating
The call center workers were condescending and rude, they will go to any length to make the process as difficult as possible. I would never deal with this company again.
Main dealers selling this warranty…
Main dealers selling this warranty that’s not worth the paper it’s written on
Do anything to avoid paying for repairs
Cause big delays at dealers by wanting to inspect the car then turning down the claim
Will never buy a spoticar vehicle again
I love my car but not the products offered
The same day I picked up my car I detected a fault and I've been waiting for 2 months for it to be fixed.
Arnold Clark garages cancel my appointment the day before to tell me they can't serve me because they won't accept my car with the Spoticar warranty they offer.
The answer is surprising and incoherent... Arnold Clark in Edinburgh is a hoax.
First class DISAPPOINTMENT
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I bought a car from a dealership, the extended warranty came with it, I extended it because I wanted to be covered in case anything happened. Long story short, car was incompetently serviced, Spoticar can't help and even if they could they would reimburse a few months after I've sorted it out myself. Complete waste of time, I honestly don't know how they're allowed to be in business.
Unfortunately I had to give it 1 star…
Unfortunately I had to give it 1 star when really I didn't want to. They are just out to take your money and you get nothing in return. They just say the same old thing it's wear and tear they just don't want to pay the money. They want the mechanic to take apart the car for more evidence and say it's not covered and you have to pay for the labour of the mechanic. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
I purchased a nearly new low mileage…
I purchased a nearly new low mileage Vauxhall Van from main Toomey Vauxhall in Basildon.at same time paid for top spoticar warranty. when driving home emissions light came on. i then sent it back to vauxhall Exeter. they diagnosed it as injectors ,broken Pipe ,and various components, Cost over £5000 pounds
Spoticar did not cover any of these parts.
Absolute waste of money and a big con
First spoticar I've bought
First spoticar I've bought, had clutch problems. Returned to Dealership I bought the car from . Not the most helpful was told to book car in peougeot main dealer took 6wks to resolve problem ! Thankfully spoticar warranty approved all works. And 8wks later spoticar approved further works within a few days. To replace AC compressor. Thank you spoticar Warranty.
Google the definition of scam, Spoticar appear.
Pointless warranty in all honesty. They push for the car to go to manufacturer garage, and if you try and take it to your local garage that is more than capable of doing the work they'll proceed to mess the garage around over the smallest of things so they don't need to pay them. 10 days hire car cover is a complete slap in the face if you need to take the car to a manufacturers garage, I own a Renault and most Renault dealerships in my area are busy for the next 6-8 weeks, by the time they look at my vehicle and confirm the issue I'll be without my own car for 8-10 weeks, they'd only cover 10 days of those 56-70 days.
After a week of 10 calls a day trying to get my car sorted I've eventually had to dip into my own pocket and pay for it to get fixed. I'll never ever look to Spoticar ever again, a complete scam.
