These people are great. They make brilliant videos where they explain things logically and in detail, also they welcome calls from their 'fans', which where I come in. I live somewhere where deliveries are difficult and costly so I have to improvise. I needed advice and twice I called staff and twice they've given me the time and patience enabling me to get on. No hard sell, just friendly, expert advice which has worked. I can't speak highly enough the folk at Soundproofing Store, fantastic firm.

As part of the refurbishment of a recently purchased family home, a traditionally built, 1960’s semi-detached it was quickly found that the party wall, which is a plastered, solid 9” thick brick wall readily transmitted the noise of a loudly ticking clock, normal conversation and two barking dogs.
We therefore decided that a sound proofing solution would be essential for quality-of-life reasons. We consulted independent acoustic consultants and local builders, both of whom, whilst being confident in the potential efficacy of the Soundproofing Store’s Reducto Clip Independent Wall System, attempted to steer us towards more generic solutions (which we think was because they saw them as easier for themselves!!).
However, after much research and dialogue with the Soundproofing Store we opted for the Reducto Clip Independent Wall System which has been successfully installed on the ground floor party wall. The result is a massive reduction in noise transmission through the party wall. The only slight noise remaining is ‘flanking noise’ of the ticking clock at the side of the fireplace and this is marginal.
For those considering installing soundproofing solutions, we would offer the following observations, based on our experiences: -
• The materials are by necessity very heavy.
• We used a joiner to build the stud wall and plasterer to fit the boards & Tecsound. Unless you are fit & strong, and a competent DIY person maybe consider getting some help!
• The quantities supplied are very accurate and we had little waste but consider the advice to order an extra 5% for wastage if unsure.
• You only get one chance to install soundproofing, so use a credible, professional firm. The Soundproofing Store is such!

The Soundproofing Store staff, particularly Alex, have been exceptional in terms of helpfulness and customer service. They are a responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable company. A special mention too of Pavel of their delivery team who drove his forklift truck through a busy residential estate, with parked vehicles, to put the pallet on the drive. On the installation day, Alex took at least five phone calls from ourselves, mainly around spacing & fitting the extra furring bars for the radiator mounting. Always friendly, helpful, and totally customer focussed. Thank you so much!!
