Please report this puppy farm

After letting my heart overrule my head and against my gut instincts, I paid £500 deposit in September for a show cocker spaniel. They were, and still are advertised as Kennel club registered, fully health checked etc. etc.
I must admit, looking at photos that I took of the mother she didn’t look in the best of health and the conditions where the helping box was wasn’t particularly clean.
I thought it was rather unusual that Ian Phillips and his wife Donna, didn’t even know what the KC name was of their own dog when asked.
However I was told I would have pup updates, weekly photos that even after numerous requests to Donna to send them, They never arrived.
I asked to visit the pups so that I could see them interact with the other pups.
Apparently I wasn’t allowed. until 6 wks of age because of infection , however this seemed of no concern when they were just 3 days and they wanted the deposit.
Afterwards all I got were excuses saying she was away for the weekend. The excuses kept coming quick and fast.from her.
I had one photo aged 3 weeks against a back drop of some flower arrangement. There were also photos of the others pups on the website in exactly the same pose.
I think it was an advertisement photo.
They were all still for sale.
However I felt left out and didn’t get that chance to bond with her.
I fell in love with a photo of her.

Two days before I was to hand over £2,000 and bring my puppy home finally. For some reason I looked at the reviews on their website once again.
That is when the red lights started flashing.

Somebody had given 1 star as their puppy had blood stained diarrhoea when it was collected . Eventually needing urgent veterinary attention and her Petplan insurance wouldn’t pay out.
My immediate question-

If these dogs are KC registered as advertised then they should have KC insurance for the first 5 weeks so that you have time to put your own insurance in place.
Why wasn’t this given?

I therefore decided to give them the benefit of doubt I asked Donna for the name & contact details of the veterinary surgery they use as with their permission I would ask for the health test results for my puppy including treatment details.
I also wanted copies of all health documents of parents and KC documents including insurance.
The reply I got back shocked me.
I was asked if I want a refund of the deposit.
I didn’t even ask for one nor expected one.I wanted my puppy with all documentation that I have a right to have when paying £2500 for a KC registered puppy.
I could not describe how upset I felt.

I replied that if they couldn’t get the documents then yes I wanted a refund. She then asked for my bank details, I gave them and the money was due to be paid the next day.

This was not paid and after giving them a reminder and another 24 hrs I thought about starting a small claims court proceedings against them.

However instead I contacted my bank as It is my personal opinion that these puppies are not registered and there are no up-to date health tests although this is yet to be proved.
Therefore prospective buyers like me are led to believe what they decide to advertise.
This is called miss selling or Fraud .
I contacted Donna to tell her I was contacting my bank she tried to give me some sob story that her husband has had a mental breakdown.
Even more excuses, I had heard enough.
I shall contact Shropshire council as apparently their licence is up for renewal soon.this information was given to me from another person they also tried to scam money from.
How many more ?
These poor animals are being bred in conditions that are not satisfactory obviously with health problems that reviews on here prove.
My puppy was advertised for sale yesterday , I never even had the chance to hold her in my arms. I hope to god her owners give her a beautiful life which is what she deserves.

All people who put reviews on here who feel that they have had an unsatisfactory experience with this puppy farm need to report it immediately .
Update
Due to contacting my bank who put a fraud trace on my deposit payment, the refund was paid into my account. This has hopefully made them think twice.
I also contacted Shropshire council and noticed they have changed their web page.
Luckily I have photo shots of the old one.
The best thing to do if you find yourself in my position is contact your bank and report to Shropshire council.
Just think of those poor dogs.
Thankfully there is a happy ending
My new puppy from a lovely breeder is to be named Lucy

Avoid at all costs, don’t put yourself through the heart ache.

They sell mainly on pets4homes.co.uk where they seem to be a legitimate breeder. Far from the truth.
Our pup came with various health issues and we were advised by our vet return. Soudley park kennels agreed to refund, which we have proof of. This has never come… with various excuses over the last 9 months. Now forced to seek legal advice as they have basically just stolen several thousand pounds. They’re clearly not legitimate and I would advise anyone to steer well clear of them for your own sake. Wish I’d found these reviews sooner and done some more research as I would have gone elsewhere. Awful people.

I would not recommend Soudley Park…

I would not recommend Soudley Park Kennels based on my experience.

I purchased my Golden Retriever, Teddy, from Soudley Park Kennels and unfortunately he developed a medical condition affecting his elbow/leg during his first year. He has since been assessed by veterinary specialists and diagnosed with elbow dysplasia.

The contract I was given specifically states: “Although precautions have been taken to ensure the health of your puppy, a one year warranty would be given should your puppy develop any disease or conditions associated with the breed in the future 12 month period.”

Teddy developed his condition within this 12-month period. Following discussions with the breeder, it was agreed that they would provide half of the purchase price to help towards Teddy’s health condition and the ongoing costs associated with managing it.

I have repeatedly contacted the breeder, provided my payment details and given plenty of opportunity for this matter to be resolved. Instead, I have continually been given different excuses and have still not received the payment that was agreed.

I also never received Teddy’s father’s Kennel Club paperwork showing his hip and elbow testing scores. I was only provided with the paperwork for his mother.

Given that Teddy has subsequently been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia, the fact that I have never been provided with his father’s health-testing paperwork has left me with serious concerns and questions about what health testing was actually carried out on his father, including whether the relevant hip and elbow tests were completed.

It is extremely disappointing to have purchased a puppy and then receive so little help when a health condition has developed within the period covered by the written agreement. I have been waiting since January and have continually been fobbed off with different excuses.

I am sharing my experience so that anyone considering purchasing a puppy from Soudley Park Kennels makes sure they receive all relevant Kennel Club and health-testing documentation and fully understands exactly what is covered by the breeder’s health warranty

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID – Our experience with Soudley Park Kennels has ended with solicitors pursuing us for veterinary fees they agreed in writing to pay

I rarely leave reviews like this, but after months of trying to resolve this privately, I believe prospective customers should know about our experience with Soudley Park Kennels.

We purchased an English Bulldog puppy from Soudley Park Kennels in 2025. Our puppy was found to have a serious congenital heart condition and ultimately required specialist heart surgery.

We agreed to continue caring for him on the clear understanding that Soudley Park Kennels would be responsible for the cost of the required surgery.

This was not simply a verbal promise. We have a signed written agreement confirming responsibility for the surgery.

Our dog underwent heart surgery on 13 March 2026.

Despite the written agreement, when the surgery took place we were put in the position of having to provide a substantial payment ourselves because the required money had not been made available. After considerable chasing and delay, that money was eventually reimbursed.

However, approximately £3,000 of the veterinary bill remained outstanding.

For months afterwards, we were repeatedly assured that this balance was being dealt with. We were informed that an instalment arrangement had been made and received written confirmation concerning that arrangement.

We relied on those assurances and believed the matter was finally being resolved.

We have now received correspondence from solicitors pursuing the outstanding veterinary debt because the veterinary account is in my wife’s name.

What I found particularly upsetting was a WhatsApp message I subsequently received from Donna in which she said words to the effect that she should have had the dog put down.

After everything this dog has been through, and after we have cared for him and ensured he received the specialist treatment he needed, I found that comment absolutely appalling.

Soudley Park Kennels publicly describes itself as being dedicated to raising happy, healthy dogs and providing ongoing support to puppy families. Our personal experience has unfortunately been very different.

We have spent months attempting to resolve this privately and have given numerous opportunities for the outstanding veterinary costs to be dealt with.

We have now issued Soudley Park Kennels with a FINAL FORMAL NOTICE – Outstanding Veterinary Fees and Breach of Agreement and given a final deadline for the matter to be resolved.

We have retained the signed agreement, veterinary documentation, invoices, payment records, WhatsApp conversations and other written correspondence relating to what has happened.

Our dog’s welfare has always been our priority. Having a puppy requiring major heart surgery was difficult enough without months of chasing agreed payments, receiving solicitor correspondence regarding the unpaid veterinary balance and then receiving a comment suggesting that the dog should have been put down.

I strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing a puppy does their own research, asks for evidence of relevant health testing and gets every commitment made by a breeder in writing.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Soudley Park Kennels.

would not recommend Soudley Park…

would not recommend Soudley Park Kennels based on my experience.
Communication was poor from the outset, with several of my questions ignored. Despite that, I remained interested in Oscar, a Bernedoodle, and repeatedly checked that he was still available before making arrangements to travel.
On Friday I was told he was still available. On Saturday we agreed to arrange a viewing. On Sunday I asked if Wednesday would be suitable and was told, "Yes should be fine." My son arranged to take the day off work so we could make the long journey.
On Monday morning I asked for the address so I could plan my route and provide an ETA. Within one minute I received the reply: "Hi he sold sorry we do have younger ones."
At no point was I told another buyer was viewing him or that there was a risk he might be sold before my agreed visit. Had I known, I could have made an informed decision or travelled sooner. Instead, I was left believing the viewing was still going ahead.
What disappointed me most was the complete lack of courtesy. A simple message to say another buyer was interested would have avoided wasting my time and my son's. Instead, I was immediately offered younger puppies, which made it feel as though the focus was simply on making another sale rather than treating potential buyers with honesty and respect.
Buying a puppy should be built on trust. Unfortunately, my experience left me with very little confidence in the way I was treated. I sincerely hope Oscar has gone to a loving home where he will be well cared for, but I cannot recommend this breeder based on my experience.
