Solis 50 RX 4x4
Solis 50 RX 4x4, purchased new in 2020 for 20k, done 400 hours of light work and engine knackered. Will not start without easy start, diesel in sump and low compression. Suspect cracked piston or worn liners, is likely going to cost close to 10k to get repaired, so 1/2 the cost of when new.
Would not advise buying on of these machines, Solis themselves are no help but dealership local to me have been good so far but I am dreading their final bill!!! Definitely not a cheap option for a small tractor sadly.
Working (when possible) with a Solis 26 HST for 2 years
I have a Solis 26 HST for 2 years now, and used it for 80 hours. I have a long list of problems since beginning. Was a long time at the service point.
Not going into L gear, L/H handle not properly mounted causing not possible going into L gear. safetyswitch of brake paddle broken, wiring of dynamo faulty mounted, handbrake not working and so on. And still not all problems are solved. mainly the problems are due to bad assembly and poor engineering.
Now a bigger problem has come up. With the warm weather the tractor is overheating. One of the causes is that the air of the blower is gonig directley to the ground. This causes grass and dust are spread into the air which is going directley back to the inlet site of the water cooler. After 10 minutes the indicator is in red, and i have to stop mowing or cutter.
Overall iám disappointed in the tractor. Mainly the reliablity. Using it 80 hours and spending another 20 to 40 hours in getting the problems resolved.

I’ve had our Solis 💩50rx 23 plate for 18mths and it has had faults every single month since we have had it
From engine management failure ECU failed hydraulic failures 4WD collapsed front hubs seized cables snapped power steering oil leaks hydraulic oil leaks and regularly won’t start taking 30/40 mins constant turning the dam thing on and off dose my head in .. so if you are thinking of buying a SOLIS DONT!
replacement for ford 1210…
Needed a tractor to replace a ford 1210. John Deere and Kubota 2 yr warranty and twice as much as a Solis 26 which has a 5 yr warranty. Bought the Solis and have no regrets. Yes it is 60's Ferguson 135 tech. but does exactly what we want. 4Wheel drive starts and runs well economical. 11 yr old grand daughter can drive it well. Basic tech nothing fancy.
BEEN IN REPAIR LONGER THAN ON THE ROAD!was super respondent and helpful
Sales was super respondent and helpful. Thats where it ends, got about 13 hours on my H24 it developed a leak in the hyd lines at less than 1 hour took 3 weeks to get the service to at least mail me a replacement hose. Problem solved (so I thought). Next the front axle at the driveline began leaking oil all over the shop, contacted service and was told they would send someone to check it, told them I am in and out please give me some notice when you are coming so I will be there, after two weeks I get a phone message "I am sitting in your driveway and where is the tractor?" Contacted the dealer was told they had left message for me this morning that they were on the way, I was working 85 miles away and could not get there before they left. After a sarcastic call from the owner I was told "We will be back someday when we get a chance!" Seeing I was at a dead end I contacted another dealer 90 miles from me and they agreed to do the repairs, it has now been in their shop for going on a month hopefully I will get it this week sometime. BEEN IN REPAIR LONGER THAN ON THE ROAD! For a company trying to get a start in the US. they sure are not trying.
Great all-round Tractor
Bought a 26 from Baggleys near Norwich. Can’t say enough positives about them or the tractor.
Mine was the manual 26 with front loader and initially a hedge flail. Superb tractor for just small jobs around a large barn with 800yd drive.
It is was it is..gears are a bit hard given non synchro gearbox and the ride position is too near the wheel and foot pedals (this is better on the new auto model).
I’ve now done 85 hours and no issues apart from services and a small adjustment on the speed lever.
Will change it for the auto eventually.
Change the hedge flail for a road grader and works brilliantly.
SOLIS tractor . My Experiances
Felt is was time to write my review of Solis Tractors UK after owning 5 tractros since 2021.
I needed a new tractor to replace my 1976 MF135 and looked at the Solis 50 with luxury cab! I knew nothing about them but price was much less than a John Deere and so I took a chance buying it.
The Solis Tractor was great so I bought a smaller Solis 26 Manual 6 months later! they have been followed by a Solis 26 Hydro with cab and a Solis 26 Shuttle with Solis Loader and a small Solis 16 for the garden work.
So after the last three years using Solis tractors I think I have a fair grasp of the tractors the dealer(s) and the Importers.
I now love the Solis Tractors and wont look at JD etc ! I have had no regrets buying Solis and yes as with all machinery there are always breakdowns. but for me its the back up service and parts that makes or breaks it for me Solis has out performed by experiance with JD etc
I have not yet had to wait for parts everything I have needed has been in UK Stock Both sent overnight from parts in UK. Thats Great Service in my opinion
I have now sold all my John Deere compacts and only run Solis tractors on my farm
I intend buying my 6th Solis tractor in autumn 2024
I can honestly state thats I have not regreted buyin g my 5 Solis tractors! and am happy to reccomend them. Michael York Hill Farm 9/2/2024
Just snagged a Solis tractor with that…
Just snagged a Solis tractor with that Euro touch, and it's a total game-changer!
This bad boy:
1. Handles the tough stuff like a boss.
2. Packs serious power for all tasks.
3. Looks sleek with that European finesse.
Sure it's worth every cent.
Overall, if you want a tractor that's a cut above the rest, this is it!
Dreadful
I have 2 Solis26 manual tractors and I don’t rate them whatsoever.
First tractor done a clutch at around 30 hours and now it’s just gone again at 90 hours. Solis UK dismiss any liability even before looking into the cause.
Second tractor needs a new engine at 160 hours. Best explanation I’ve been given to why this happen is maybe because the fan sucks air through the radiator but it also sucks all the grass particles into the radiator which blocks the air flow! SolisUK won’t help even before carrying out a full investigation on why it happened.
I rate these tractors as cheap and nasty with poor customer support from Solis UK.
Buy cheap, buy twice - I’m off to get a New Holland Boomer!
Remember, you get what you pay for in life.

Changed an old Kubota B7001 (extremely reliable old machine) for a Solis 20 with loader. Manual gearbox with Industrial Tyres. So far (50-hours from new) I am impressed with this little machine. Very stable, powerful enough for my needs. Gearbox is a bit notchy, but cheaper than the hydrostatic & not really an issue for me. Pulls well, has excellent load carrying capabilities for its size & weight. I am happy with it & pleased I chose Solis.

Bought a H24 I have had nothing but trouble 14 hrs alt. Belt broke 41.4 hrs. Front axle fell out of tractor it has no power just dogs along on everything I try to do with it I have ask for less than my money back Ive ask to exchange the tractor but it seems like I am stuck like chuck with this p.o.s. my best advice do not but this tractor
Good Workhorse
Great tractor. Great price. 3 years of use with 4 way bucket and has not failed on any job including mole ploughing! I dont understand the poor review, nothing has bent or broken and I have used it thoroughly.
1 small issue is the gearing on the 3 speed could be better. The newer ones comes with 9 gears and a shuttle which would solve this. Also it came with a very poor quality battery which had to be replaced.
Solis 26 in general
Solis 26 in general, is rubbish do not buy one.gearbox is attrocious, cannot get it into any gear either forward or backward. No clutch adjustment that does anything. As for the loader well, saying its made of Monkey Metal is doing Monkeys a disservice. Its all bent and twisted after loading muck. having been to an Ag show replacements and new ones seem to be made of 5mm steel. Mine is not. If I could drive it into a skip I would do. AVOID
So far it's brilliant.
Purchased a Solis 50 RX ROPS with a front loader last month for use on my small holding (25 acres). Duties include hedge cutting, flail mowing, and improving the wooded areas. So far this tractor has exceeded expectations. Looked at several 50 HP tractors before buying. The Solis was physically bigger than the others and didn't have all the modern electronic gizmos. So far can't fault it.
Have a Solis 26 for 3 years now
Have a Solis 26 for 3 years now. Turf tyres and bucket with grab. Does everything I want.Harrowing, seeding and rolling plus carrying muck from stables Dealer not so good (useless) but Solis UK very very good support. Agree gearbox can be tricky at times but you get used to it. Lives outside but now with tarp cover purchased from USA that fits well and protects well. looked at alternatives before buying but nothing else came close on value for money
Would not recommend
Tractors ok
Support from local dealer good
Support from Solis UK truely dreadful
Ordered a Solis loader for the Solis 75 almost 6 months back and yet no sign of it, just excuses
I understand that there are lots of other customers in the same position, although the length of their wait will vary from mine
I really regret my purchase of my Solis tractors and would not recommend them.
If I could sell them and get close to my money back then I would.
I bought two Solis tractors last year
I bought two Solis tractors last year – one is Solis 50hp and another one is Solis 26. I have used for one than 50 hours, both of them are compact in size but powerful when it comes to working in my farms. To be honest, the mileage of both the tractors is fine and better as compared to other brand tractors. Solis has also improved the seat, the new seat is comfortable & comes with an armrest.
My buying experience was also great dealer did proper PDI & explained to me every feature of the tractor. With the tractor dealer also provide me some filters complimentary to use the same in 1st service. The price of the tractor is also a plus point, I purchased 2 tractors in the price of 1 tractor of many big brands.
Solis does not have any big feature but for a simple, mechanical tractor I would recommend checking Solis tractors also, Importer is also a very nice person.
Best Farming Experience with Solis S26
I have been using this Solis 26 tractor for a very long time, I owned the older version of the tractor and I have never faced any problem while using this tractor. I earlier thought that Solis is China based company but it is from India. Built of the tractor is very strong, I see hardly any plastic part it is completely metal.
I have used tractor more than 100 hours majorly for garden maintenance & milling, maintaining the tractor is also very easy, earlier there was challenge about the spare parts availability but as they have opened new centre in Germany, you get spare parts very fast.
I am thinking to change the tractor to the new model as new model look more stylish & seat is also comfortable, I think Soils is focusing more on comfort of the user as they have improved Seat, they have added projector lamps.
Solis 26 review after 1st service
Having just completed the 1st 50hr service I thought this would be a good time to review the Solis 26.
The tractor
Before buying I viewed and compared the Solis 26 and equivalent Siromer. I had decided to buy the Siromer (generally beefier & shuttle gearbox) but then I found it would not fit in my garage, so ended up going with the Solis.
Essentially the 26 is a good little tractor. I specified the Industrial tyres and a loader with a grab. I use the tractor for mowing (flail mower), towing a trailer and using the bucket.
Good points – It does what I want; Runs well, loader dismounts very easily from the machine. It’s a convenient size
Bad points
1. A big issue is that the PTO cover is a section of welded metal (actually the thickest metal on the tractor) and CANNOT BE REMOVED. It’s really quite hard to get a PTO shaft off and on. Heaven knows how you’d get the shaft off if the locking button on the Universal joint became stiff or rusted.
2. The Gearbox is not great – just 3 gears in each ratio, can be a pain when you’re mowing over very bumpy ground; 3rd L is bit too slow and 1st H is bit too fast. Also I have found that it can be hard to get into gear on occasions. Sometime you go to select a ratio (while stationary) and there’s no way it’s going into gear – needs a little joggle on the clutch, some grinding and then it goes. Whether this is poor clutch adjustment or a result of the rubbish actions by the dealer (more later) I don’t know.
3. The clutch appears to be a single stage so, for example, when you’re mowing and you come into a really thick bit if you slightly depress the clutch to stop the forward motion of the tractor the PTO is disengaged as well, so you can’t edge your way through the thick stuff keeping the mower running at full belt.
4. There are bits that are fiddly, downright poor design or just cheap. For example the engine oil dipstick is buried deep at the back of the engine; Had to replace a grease nipple on the clutch for one with a 90 bend as straight nipple was totally inaccessible due to the welded bracket just in front of it. Need to be careful getting in and out of the drivers seat to avoid catching the ignition key with your boot. There is rust starting to appear on the roll bar, underneath the tractor and on many nuts. The hand brake rusted solid within 2 weeks (kept in a dry garage)
Solis Tractors
I had a lot of trouble with the dealer and James from Solis UK was helpful and communicative. Sent me a manual (dealer didn’t provide) and a filter kit for the 1st service by way of apology. Generally good communications, although at the time of writing I’m still waiting for a reply or even acknowledgement to my email asking some questions arising from the 1st service.
The Dealer
I should have walked away from this person the moment I went to view the tractor. He runs a headstone business in Aberdeen and, as he says on his website, “I turned my passion from a hobby to a business.”
My buying experience was appalling.
When the machine was eventually delivered I should have rejected it there and then. It was a different serial number, it had a muck fork and not a grab bucket, it had 9 hours on the clock and a bent ignition key so I was pretty certain it had been used as a demo. Furthermore when I checked things like oil levels a few days later both the engine and transmission were below the minimum marks so clearly there had been no PDI.
The name of this dealer is North East Plant Sales, from Aberdeenshire.
In conclusion. I am stuck with my Solis, despite trying to return it after it had been delivered and before I’d used it.
It does the job okay but when you spend £12k on a brand new tractor, you expect to get a brand new tractor. I think in hindsight, I’d have been better off paying a little more and going with the Siromer with the shuttle gear box
