Slug and Lettuce Recensioni 

Called into the Slug and Lettuce at the Omni Centre, Edinburgh for a meal. The place was rather empty compared to Weathrespoons opposite. We both ordered a meal and drinks which soon arrived. The meals were very nice, I had Katsu curry and my wife had scampi and chips. So 5☆ for the food. When I came to pay, I was shocked at the drinks bill, £8.80 for a glass of wine and £5.75 for a pint of lager and lime and to add insult to injury, another 30p for a dash of lime. Absolutely disgusting.
Other places we frequent charge roughly £5 - £5.60 for a wine and £3.95 - £4.60 for my usual lager and lime.
Weatherspoons will do a meal with an alcoholic drink for roughly £12 - £14 depending on the type of meal.
We thought we would try the S+L for a change from Weatherspoons, and would have gone more in the future, but not at those drinks prices. They have lost custom, expect that's why the place was almost empty. Will go to Weathrespoons for our future meals.

Went to the slug and lettuce in Liverpool for one of their brunches, All I got was a plate of about 6 chicken coujons and half a waffle I was still hungry after eating this and was told there is no other food offered for the brunch 😕 when I've previously gone for brunches the food keeps coming 🤷Also I don't drink alcohol so I asked if there was a special price, I was told they would knock a fiver off so I definitely didn't get my money's worth 😞 friends and my husband who I was dining with said the drinks were all watered down so definitely won't be dining here again 🤬

Do the toilets ever get cleaned or maintained in S&L Reading? Have visited a few times over the last few years and the toilets are still in the same state as they were on my first visit. Have mentioned it to the staff on occasions, however, they are not interested.

Overflowing sanitary bins, no locks or broken locks on the toilet doors, loose toilet seats, generally disgusting, and lots of potential health hazards. And it’s not even 17:00 at the time of leaving this review! Grim.

But don’t worry ladies, at least both hand driers are working now and your 2-4-1 cocktails make up for you having to carry your used sanitary items around with you.

Went to the Woking branch for food and it was awful. Drink on the menu didn’t go through the app. Draught cola was very watery. Food was dry and totally tasteless. Had the Hawaiian vegan dish-the tofu was rock hard and tasteless. The rice was cold and bland. The burger with bacon was tepid and horrid texture. Very poor and definitely will not return. It wasn’t busy-can understand why!

Roisin served us and they absolutely slayed !!! can’t wait to go back again !! the service was so good, Roisin derives a raise !!!

Food was not great. Part of the menu was unavailable. What I did get was greasy and unappetising. Service was non existent. I will not be eating there again.

Bristol
I was generally underwhelmed with this visit given the choices in Bristol. I don’t like the self service order at the counter model as you pay before you get anything but that’s the S&L model.
The chicken skewers starter was over cooked and difficult to cut and chew, the side salad was ok. Service was nonchalant and I wasn’t asked if my food was ok and it wasn’t!

Travelled to Glasgow today to meet a Scottish friend for lunch, we chose the Slug and Lettuce near the station, we chose S&L as I have visited our local one in Derby many times and have always had good service.
The venue wasn’t particularly busy, we weren’t greeted after waiting, so made selected our own table. We ordered our first drink whilst perusing the menu. Our cocktails sat at the bar for almost 10 minutes on a tray, in the end I went up and helped myself. No one actually noticed that we had waited or that I had infact helped myself. We decided not to stay for lunch.
We left as there were plenty of other venues within a few minutes walk. Extremely disappointed, especially after recommending S&L to my friend.
Hopefully my feedback will be noted and possibly actioned for future customers.

Just drank and eaten in the Waterloo bar. Customer service is awful....yes you can order by app, but god forbid you order at the bar, it's as if you're not there. Ignored and when I was served, the young lady....didn't say girl, started to serve my drinks but then served the next customer???? I eventually got my drink. When the food arrived, curry great, macaroni cheese great, cheese burger, the team favourite came without sauce and then asked where it was, was asked if I wanted it....yes, as it's on the menu. Arrived in a couple of Macdonald's paper sauce pots....burger was cold. Unfortunately didn't complain as had had enough and wanted out! I will not be back as I feel they do not value custom...shame!

Just been to the Oxford Slug n Lettice with my granddaughter. Food was awful, cold and tasteless. Considering it was quite pricey for what we had, never again visiting. Even the couple sat beside us said theirs was the same. Not a good choice.

First time there, for a night out with my wife before going onto the theater.
It was excellent.

It was very clean and friendly staff
We both had a meal at lunchtime
It was terrible not worth the money at all
I had smothered chicken struggled to cut through it
It came with fries which were hard and garden peas
I would say this pub is more for drinking and not dining

went for a bottomless brunch for new years. booking was complicated, staff were not aware of what was going on, one staff member didn’t wash her hands after going to the toilet. overall poor service and gross staff. we booked for the disco/ party afterwards but it was not good at all. dj was rude but matt and lewis on the bar were great. in conclusion; inattentive staff, poor service, poor hygiene from staff, poor choice in dj, not a vibe at all. left 5 hours before the end. i was talking with security outside most of the time, and that was the most interesting part of our night out. shocking send off into 2025. moreover, at the beginning of the brunch we were supposed to have a BOTTLE of prosecco on arrival but they poured the drinks and then took the bottle away. when we asked why this happened they said it was their “policy”! defo think the higher-ups should reconsider this. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

Pre-ordered for our Xmas function in Sheffield and then to be told on the evening that my steak meal wasn’t available, I had to drown my sorrow in vodka and redbull, I left famished and could barely drag myself to the next pub, feeling weak and now on vitamin supplements due to being malnourished, I feel weak and can only just leave this review so that others are not impacted by such poor service! I am now roaming Sheffield town centre looking for unaware pigeons as a source of protein, armed with just my ability to survive and a disposable lighter!

Went to the slug and Lettuce in Cardiff paid a £10 deposit on booking went following day and ordered meal and drinks when we asked how to reclaim our deposit they refused to refund it. I feel this is very dishonest behaviour from a big chain that should care about it's reputation but with 39% bad reviews it's obviously bad service is of no concern and everyone should stay well clear of these rip off merchants.

Following a difficult experience at St Marys Axe the Stonegate Group customer service team have been very helpful and my £20 deposit has now been refunded. Thank you .

Table for 7 booked and deposit taken then was told that there was a gas leak and booking was cancelled, however they flatly refuse to return the deposit

Food was amazing. Great with drinks for bottomless brunch they come around every 10-15 minutes. We were server by jack in Swansea slug and lettuce he was very polite and friendly, will definitely visit again. Me and the other half realty enjoyed would recommend for a fairly cheap and enjoyable night out.

Dinner at Portsmouth slug and lettuce really friendly staff Gem was our server and very attentive. My husband went to the bar on first arriving to be told to go sit down quite abruptly by a girl with longish dark hair and had a go away look on her face. But when we told Gem this she apologised on their behalf and hence her attentiveness obviously to keep us happy which I appreciated. Overall bar the rude bar tender we enjoyed our time and meal
