Slug and Lettuce Recensioni 

I bought drinks at the bar and, rarely for me, paid by debit card. Without being asked, tips were added without my being asked. The receipts had the price without a tip in large characters, with the tip shown in tiny characters below. I only noticed this when I checked my bank balance online. I contacted Stonegate who own S&L and they admitted no wrongdoing. Apparently asking if I needed to tap my card on the screen of the reader or the end of it was described as "asking for help with using the reader", as if I were some stupid old man with no knowledge of technology. The amount of money was small, but it is theft. Avoid these establishments and all Stonegate pubs because they condone theft.

Went in the S and L in Weymouth this afternoon (sat 16 Aug) for a drink with family. I ordered and paid for 2 pints of coke with no ice. The barmaid put about half a pint in each glass. When I asked her to top it up she point blank refused and said that is all I would get if the ice was in there! I was absolutely gobsmacked as I had basically just paid approximately £9 for 2 pints of coke and received 2 halves of coke for this price. I asked her again to top it up and she actually turned her back on me and started serving the customer next to me. Thankfully a man serving behind the bar saw what had happened and came over and topped them up for me. I have never before had this experience in any other pub; if you ask and pay for a pint of coke with no ice you get a pint of coke with no ice! Disgusting way to treat your customers.

Visited the Newcastle Quayside one for afternoon tea and it was delicious. Nice bright, clean and airy place. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. Big shout out for Isaac who was very professional and attentive. Definitely returning and would definitely recommend.

I would have given Portsmouth S&L one star but a very nice young man got them an extra star. One member of staff was rude abrupt and unhelpful as soon as we walked in. So when we were told the food would take one hour (due to being so busy) we took our opportunity to leave. Felt unwelcome and a nuisance from the first interaction.

It’s no wonder slug and lettuce st Katherine’s docks have a rating so low. We went in having had literally a couple of drinks but not drunk whatsoever. Immediately we were told too drunk to be served. This was ludicrous as we had literally had 2 drinks, were perfectly respectable and capable. One of our members doesn’t ever drink and was told they were too drunk which is comical. A severe lack of experience on the management side here.

Firstly not having an ingredient listed on your menu is not just unacceptable but very dangerous. Went for lunch and discovered my dish had chillie s which I cannot eat , not listed on menu !!
Explained I could not eat it ,got offered something else ,ordered cake and coffee. Told coffee machine not working ,waited over 20 mins ,nothing arrived. Complained to the manager who was smirking which is very disgraceful.
Won’t be back ,this was a special treat for my sister in law. Very upset. Not to mention unwell after eating 1 chillie !!!

Dirty glasses it took 6 attempts to find a clean glass after finding 2 lots of lipstick on the glass plus the gent toilet smell disgusting - Lincoln

Been for an afternoon tea today through buy a gift and it was absolutely disgusting
The sandwiches were nothing like you expect to see for an afternoon tea
Then the cakes came in a disgraceful plate and what we thought was a jelly but just strawberries in a presume juice
Husband enjoyed the scone
But would not rate it at all

If i could give no stars i would have. Party of 10 booked in for 1.30pm for a hen do. When we got there our table was not ready. We were told to all order individually at the bar which is ridiculous for a party of 10. When the QR was showing an error message. The last person in our group to order was told twice that the food she wanted for her mum was not in stock, having to leave the bar to tell her mum that their food is not available, she was then sent to the back of the queue this happened twice (to the bride) once we managed to find food that was available we were told the kitchen was too busy and their food would take roughly an hour to arrive, this resulted in 2 of our party not ordering any food we would have left if the rest of our party hadn’t already started eating as the food came out in drips and drabs. When questioned the manager on shift Chloe about the process she was rude and frankly didnt care that our event was ruined by them. Which was a shame because we wanted to spend time here and enjoy the cocktails. The only pleasant part of our experience was Carl who was friendly and helpful. The 1 star was earned by him alone.

Wouldn't even rate the Manchester one 2 star. We PREORDERED food and yet somehow they still took 2 and a half hours to arrive at the table. The food is absolute garbage even if it was hot, which guess what, no it was cold. No words on how f'in terrible it was. There staff didn't help, useless at knowing anything. They forgot drinks. Literally everything was terrible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

From the moment we arrived, Elliyah made sure our experience was nothing short of fantastic. She ensured our drinks were constantly topped up and checked in with us frequently to make sure we were comfortable and well-catered for. The food was absolutely delicious, and Aaliyah attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience. She never left our table once, always making sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to come across such attentive and professional service, and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication. I was supposed to leave this review Friday but I was so drunk from our bottomless brunch I forgot! Kerry was our server and absolutely made our evening, full of energy, great food, great atmosphere. Definitely will return

Make you pay £10 deposit in case you do not turn up for your booking!
We turned up to the slug & lettuce in York and it wasn’t somewhere where we could eat a meal.
It was pitch black, full of drunk youngsters and the music was deafening.
There was no way we could have eaten there !
I want my £10 back

I accidentally ordered drinks on the app to the wrong branch as the app defaults to the last place you were rather than using your location. The branch I was in (Richmond) wouldn't give me the drinks and told me to call the other branch (Waterloo) for a refund. I called them and they wouldn't refund me because they had already "used the stock". What would be pennies for them cost me £40 and they wouldn't even consider refunding me or fulfilling my order in the branch I was in. I am absolutely disgusted with Slug and Lettuce and will definitely take my business elsewhere from now on.

Great food and excellent service, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and we're very pleasant. Our server Olivia was friendly, attentive and very smiley.
A definite recommendation from us.

The food is appalling not fit for consumption i will never eat there again.
Full refund was given but it put a dampener on our day out.
