This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with. I tried to repay my loan months ago and I had to deal with someone who clearly had no idea what he's doing. It was like someone was taken off the street without training and asked to deal with the enquiry on the spot.
I was trying to contact them again and repay my loan but it is impossible to connect for days. Nightmare.

Appalling customer service. Only way to get to speak to someone is by phone and have currently been waiting an hour and 45 minutes!

Vidale was very helpful and patient on the phone and helped process my refund because of an overpayment. Highly recommended.

Every time I call I get different information. Rude customer service. Unhelpful and frustrating. They act like they are doing us a favour!

Paid my loan back. Overpaid had to chase as zero effort from them to stop collecting or refund. Advised can have a refund and to update bank info on website. Website only allows this if you key in old bank info first ( can't see on site) I left university decades back haven't had the bank in question for over a decade. Massive overkill by SLC to stop you getting a refund, as they know no one keeps old info from decades ago. while they still take funds from you wages. Complained got zero help . Just debt collections and thiefs by another name.

Absolutely horrific customer service. Been on hold for almost an hour. This just isn't acceptable!

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OUT A STUDENT LOAN. Everything I was told at the start was a lie, I'vepretty much just been paying interest for 20 years!! Criminal.

I must express my profound disappointment with the services provided by Student Finance England. My experience, particularly in dealing with their handling of financial matters, has been nothing short of frustrating.

In 2022, I encountered unforeseen circumstances that led to a brief period of unemployment. Despite promptly securing employment within two months and diligently updating my employment details with Student Finance England, my maintenance loan has been inexplicably withheld. The reason provided is a purported lack of evidence, despite my submission of the necessary documentation.

There once was a lad, got a proper degree
Then onto Chartership, like a royal decree
Every months pay, the loan stood in the way

Until eight years later, a student loans hater
Invested in Bitcoin, and a lot more in altcoin
Won big on that bet, and paid off his debt

Talked on the phone with them once but by the very vurtue of what they do. One star. You are missed like a hole in the head.

Put simply, nothing i have ever been told will happen by the Student Loans Company has happened... such an own goal for the 'economically savy' governments that let this happen to their future voters.

Glad to see I am not experiencing bad a service on my own. However, it is absolutely disgusting to see how much of a failure their service is. I have started my course and my funding keeps coming back as £0 despite them even asking me to complete forms for a second time. They gave me a deadline that it would handled and they haven’t even met it. I will be deferred off my course if the situation is not resolved soon and I am now panicking! As it is also the holidays. So disappointed…

Absolute SHAMBLES of a company. Literally no-one there has a clue what they are doing. I'm trying to claim a refund for overpaying which occurred on the 28th October, i have spoken to them about 8 times now, each time they give me a different answer.

Honestly I've never met such incompetent uncaring people - they wont help, they don't know what they are doing they even told me to ring the HRMC...I did this, and after an hour on hold confirmed they had provided the information the student loans team needed for a refund and there was no reason i should not have been refunded. On speaking to student loans they claim they don't have the information, literally a sham of a company.

They have now been holding my money (7K) for nearly 2 months - they told me to call back in 2 days to see if the notes had updated on the system.

I HAVE NO WORDS FOR THESE PEOPLE - NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN

Omg I have no word's to describe this company is playing wuith my mental went is to make payment they start to ask the same documents saying they dont receve or found so gonna pas another 30 or 45 days and after gonna ask something else .. they playing wuith people live and mental .. they need to stop this stupid game

Why does it not surprise me that 94% people have given Student Loan Company a 1 star.

How does the government allow this coperate company make so much money off students without giving a service!

We pay them back thousands of amounts but yet they can't even treat students with a level of compassion and understanding.

It's just all about making money and screw giving a great customer service.

Horrendous
Poor pay, favouritism, poor contract, no sick pay whilst on probation which accumulates over the years, claim to offer flexible working but don’t offer it, poor management and some staff look down on new starters.

Predatory garbage. I need to make a payment but it isn't straightforward, I ask a basic question to their Facebook chat as advised, however it is ignored until I surrender a bunch of information over an insecure channel. My query didn't pertain to my account, they don't need this.

It feels at this point as though they are trying to fail until the clock ticks down and they can add to the already ridiculous fees they expect.

Student finance England has been messing me around since September with my application, Childcare Grant and other forms of bursary. I have given them all the information needed to correct my Mantainance loan and despite this they still have rewarded me £0. They play with people life and financial situation causing extra stress and mental health struggles. You should be ashamed of yourself !

I have wasted so many hours trying to access information, talk to someone, get the IT to work, emailing empty addresses, filling in manual forms that have been lost. My son has been completely stressed out year after year begging for help!!! This must be what life is like in Russia.

This is the worst company ever, in the UK. The mess they’ve create, staff members who don’t help, just make everything worse. I can’t even describe in here what my life has been since I asked them for a loan for my postgraduate course. An absolute nightmare!!
