Dealt with Scout Gear Trading Post (not Sierra Trading Post) for Jamboree shirts. First two times they were good to deal with and price was reasonable. The last Jamboree in 2023 I believe they chang... Leggi di più

Beware the return policy
Beware the return policy. I ordered a pair of shoes and got hit with a restocking fee along with shipping both ways. So it cost me $25 to try these shoes that did not fit. Yep I feel ripped off and will not buy here again.
Had been a life long supporter of this…
Had been a life long supporter of this company and spent thousands of dollars with them over the past 10+ years.
I felt the deals(and even B&M stores) were unmatched in the sporting industry.
Unfortunately, things have changed. They’ve moved to being under a larger corporate umbrella. Quality has gone down, the deals/coupons are also gone, etc.
Recently, I had a transaction that was doubled charged on my bank account. Their CS stated it wasn’t, my bank confirmed that it was. I’m stuck between 2 corporate transactions to resolved $150 worth of purchases. If STP noticed my history, they’d just make it right...But, they told me to call my bank to see what was goin on.
Long story short, you’ve lost a life time supporter and ambassador. Sad, but inevitable. Your competition will have better quality and CS support, and even coupons to use to buy better gear.
Bye bye STP...it was good while it lasted. I’ll share my experience on other platforms as well
Great Selection and Prices
I have ordered 3 times in the past month, and all three times I have received amazing products, unbeatable prices, and great brands. I love their website and the tremendous variety they have. However, I would say Sierra is only a great website to use if I'm mainly looking for athletic wear, athleisure, or gear/equipment. The kids' section and gear is especially ample compared to Marshalls and TJ Maxx's online site, and they do carry brands such as The North Face, Kavu, Chaco, etc that I wouldn't normally find online at the other TJX companies. I will be back for more!

Placed an order with Sierra trading post that I though was going to arrive in three or four days based on shipping times provided. Been checking delivery and based on updated ship times looking like order will land in about three weeks. Last few orders have been problematic and this is another one to add to the list.
Don’t like shopping with Sierra trading post any more.

Brand Name Items Are Not Authentic
My father purchased $78 worth of Huk (fishing apparel) merchandise, but I quickly noticed that the products were illegitimate; we compared the items purchased from Sierra [Trading Post] side by side with the real deal to compare fonts and logos and it was just too obvious. He told me he called customer service prior to purchasing and was told they were authentic, however, would come with defects (understandable as the prices are marked down by a substantial amount). I would advise others to steer clear of this site if their intent is to purchase real deal items. We will be returning the order.

I've purchased many items through STP and have always had a great experience.
Great prices, great products, excellent deliveries, and flawlessly returned many items.
Website has been down during COVID, not sure how long that is going to last.
I have an item to return. I'll find something else to buy...
Thank you STP staff for great service, stay safe.

Suppressing negative product reviews?
Suppressing negative product reviews? I've shopped at STP for years and now it is Sierra.com. I've always been generally happy with the products and service I've received, however I purchased a Mountain Hardware shell jacket for skiing in Jan. and left a 3/5 star review for the product because it was of poor quality. No offensive language, nothing directed towards Sierra. This was within a few days of the purchase. My review has never made it on the product page, however two glowing reviews (the only reviews showing) that were made after I wrote mine are on the product page. Makes me wonder if they do this for their other higher price-point items.
Super slow to ship
I haven’t received my order yet. I have almost no clothes due to a disaster. I placed a large order on Sierra.com for clothes that I really need now. It took them 6 days to submit my order to Fedex. That means it took them almost a week to pack the box. That is simply too slow.
A shame, the old STD is no longer - now a lousy deal
Everyone has already said this. I too have used from for 15 plus years yet for some reason they changed. Customer service was the best in the business. Now they are drones. They still sell the same low-quality rejects but now you can't return them. There are no bargains here just overpriced junk that you are stuck with if you miss the return window. My guess is the only reason they are still in business is folks like me that remember the old company. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere.
Attention, we are not welcome here!
The negative experience of the first purchase in this store, and for the first time in 10 years of online shopping !!! Instead of the legendary Red Wing 8111 size 8D, Danner Rivot 51536 size 12 EE boots were sent to me ... Is that the same thing? I've written about the disparity of the goods sent in support, provided a video of the discrepancy of the ordered goods. Support didn't apologize. So I guess they don't admit this awful mistake. That's why I conclude they couldn't sell the Danner boots and sent them instead Red Wing.I am sorry to leave a negative review, but I see the situation this way. There's no good review about the legendary shoes Red Wing as a gift for my father ... This shop even with their discounts doesn't worth the lost money, time and nerves!
No dedication from this company to…
No dedication from this company to honor their advertised prices. Slow to manage website with only partial refunds when item is listed but not available. It takes a week to receive a promised phone call back. The money saved is not worth the time and poor treatment by this untrustworthy store.
Gp to place for outdoor clothing and…
Go to place for outdoor clothing and gear. Good selection, great prices and discounts. I look somewhere else only if Sierra doesn't have what I want.
Terrible customer service
This company is really terrible at responding to customers. It took me trying email, phone calls and chats over the course of a month to track down my refund which was now in the form of a gift card in less than the amount than was indicated upon return. Not worth the trouble of doing business with.
Horrible return policy!
Horrible return policy for online purchases - not only do you have to pay shipping to receive an item, but you also have to pay $6.95 shipping to return it! In a day and age where most other stores offer free two-way shipping. I'll never ever buy anything from them again.
Oh, what a shame...
I started shopping with sierratradingpost.com when they launched in 1998, back when they were a small company that put out catalogs of 20 pages in length. All of the images in it were hand-drawn, the customer service was outstanding, and you could find high-quality outdoor and camping gear at a fraction of the cost you might pay at a local retailer. I am a native Western Montanan and outdoor gear is sort of a rite of passage for us up there.
I have literally spent thousands with the company over the years, if not tens of thousands. I never had to return anything, items were shipped quickly with accurate tracking information, products were described accurately and in detail, any questions were answered promptly by knowledgeable people who KNEW their outdoor gear, and the repeat/loyal customer incentives were plentiful and worthwhile. When I needed something, or just plain wanted something, I always checked with Sierra Trading Post first, even if that meant calling them to inquire about an item they did not have listed on their website or printed in their catalog. They were my go-to, first string depot and I still have items that I purchased from them over 20 years ago. The company was run with the customer in mind and was the litmus test for other online retailers to measure up to. Those were the days...
Enter the market crash of 2008 and the financial trouble that ensued for so many retailers. STP felt it, for sure. Downsizing, layoffs, you name it and it happened. Did this have a negative impact on their customers? Nope, not that I noticed. Still the same outstanding customer service (with a smile) and amazing deals and often hard-to-find products. All seemed well...
All was not well. Due to the financial crunch STP was purchased by the TJX brand of companies and we loyal fans cringed at what might happen. And all of it did happen. Gone is the amazing customer service, the customer incentive emails, the superb drill-down navigation of the website, the ultra-broad product selection, and the "mom and pop" feel of the whole thing. In its place we get "TJ Maxx with an Outdoor Flair", or "Stein Mart to the Extreme!" The emails I get use the same template as those from TJMaxx or Stein Mart and have that same discount store 'feel' to them. No coupons are ever offered. The print catalog is gone. The name is now, simply, 'Sierra'. Orders take forever and a day to process and will occasionally show up before the company even notifies you that they have shipped. Nobody I have talked to at Customer Service knows the first thing about hiking shoes or Leki poles... and I get a bit nauseous when I see the TJX credit card as an option at checkout. Eww... just, eww...
TJX, at the very least put back some of the features that made the old website so wonderful. If I am looking for a men's casual shirt I want more options than just short sleeve, long sleeve or 'graphic tees'. That's so Stein Mart of you. Give me back my long sleeve, button front, blue, large, cotton, Gramicci shirt or my short sleeve, moisture-wicking, white, Marmot t-shirt drill-down options again. Please.
The greatest online shopping experience ever has been reduced to this... this... thing. Sadly, this will be the last order I place with my old friend. Most of our 20+ years together were wonderful, and thanks for the memories.
Stay Away!
When ordering the website said it would take 3-8 days to receive the product, it took over a week to get the product shipped! I was notified a week after I placed the order that the product was shipping, it took almost another week to receive the product. Customer Service was relatively unapologetic. Offered to provide a discount on a future order. Really? How insulting and presumptuous! This was my first time to order, why would I consider ordering from you again if you can't get the first order correct? You NEVER get a second chance to make a good first impression. I encourage you to stay away from Sierra Trading Post and order from a company that 1) has quality inventory management in place, 2) understands what it means to be an online company and 3) has a Customer Service organization that truly wants to ensure Customer service. These guys don't get it. They may be fine if you live near one of their stores and you can walk into a brick and mortar location, but as an online provide they don't have what it takes to compete.
Never again!
I ordered a waffle maker on December 6. I called on December 14 and was told it was sitting in the shipping line and hadn't moved. The man I spoke with said he would get it out that day, Friday. I asked if I would have a tracking number by Monday and he said yes. On Monday instead I received an email saying the item was no longer available. Great, Now I only have 1 week before Christmas to find the item somewhere else. I will never order anything from Sierra Trading Post.
First and last time ever shopping here
I made a purchase from them and they forgot to include one of the items in the package. I called them in the morning and a representative named "Patty" assured me that she will refund me. I waited a few hours and no email of a refund came to me. This time I did a live chat and spoke to "Alexandria." She said that no refund was ever processed and that she will do it. Why did the first rep lie to me about a refund? I don't know. So Alexandria processes the refund and for the inconvenience she said i will get emailed a $20 gift card for future use. I was happy until i checked my emails and of course what do I see? I got the refund for my item but no gift card emailed to me. Why do these reps lie so much to customers? Never shopping with them again because they are all liars!!
I was looking for online retail like…
I was looking for online retail like marshalls and Ross and i was blessed to have a ad pop up I'm up to 4 purchases and one month i love this website i love the clothes i purchase for my children more than my self but i kid u not the quality is similar to macys and what's most special they offer free shipping no minimum purchase if Ur an online shopper like myself that is very uncommon
