Just finished my appointment at Shawland dental care with Dr Arfan regarding a tooth filing. As usual, he did an amazing job and I'm so happy with the filing. I've been attending this dental practice for more than 4 years and I'm extremely satisfied with the excellent service I've received during this period. From the receptionist to the dental nurses,hygienists, dentists , the manager and especially my brilliant dentist Dr Arfan. Stay safe and well.

I needed surgery to have my wisdom tooth extracted, and the staff at Shawlands Dental Care took excellent care of me and made an anxious experience much better. I was talked through everything that would happen and was well looked after on the day of my surgery. Aftercare was also fully explained and I was given a check-up a fortnight later. I was really happy with my experience and would highly recommend!

I recently had a wisdom tooth out and was very pleased with how everything went. The staff and the dentist (Dr Ahmed) were all helpful, polite and friendly and helped put me at ease. The tooth removal went well and I am now pain free.

My experience at Shawlands Dental Care was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and the dentist did an immaculate job of fixing my front tooth. I felt very at ease and will definitely return. Thank you so much for helping me smile again- 10/10 recommend this professional and caring practice.

Recently registered here pre lockdown and have been very impressed with their out of hours service

I've been very anxious about the dentist for many years, basically avoid it at all costs unless I'm in pain. I was totally at ease today though and was made to feel very comfortable. Thanks

This Dental practice has been the very model of professionalism, kind, friendly and helpful staff combine with clean, modern and hygienic facilities. My experience is ongoing, but certainly to date I have been treated very well by my Dentist (Dayna) and my Dental Nurse, and by the very lovely Anna who sees me right every time I attend. Brilliant dentists practice, always welcoming and helpful from the minute you walk through their doors at reception to the dentists themselves being very professional and skilled in what they do. Haroon has been excellent with me explaining each process along the way, taking any aprehension away. Would highly recommend Shawlands dental care for all dentistry work.

My point was that I spoke to the next dentist who saw the veneer and then fitted me for the denture. This has taken me a long time to write my review. Part of the work I had done was a new front veneer. It fell out and was glued back. One area is pretty white and other half dull. I mentioned it at my visit to have a new partial metal denture made however nothing done.
Then it took a good couple of months to have my new plate made meaning I had to put up with my broken one.
Eventually it was fitted and looked ok. Nothing really to smile about.
Gradually it has become so uneven I have to use denture pad every day to make it look straight.
Because I have no confidence in the quality of materials used I have had fear of going back.
It was a pretty expensive course if treatment.

When I first started using this dentist I could not fault it and would regularly recommend them to friends and family.Unfortunately recently they have let me down. Studying away from Glasgow it makes travelling to the dentist harder, however I still tried as I was very fond of this practise. On two occasions I was severely let down by them. The first time I had booked an appointment and specified that it was for bonding repair. I arrived on the day of the appointment to be told my slot wasn't long enough and to just come back another time. I Put this down to a admin error and moved for a re appointment on the 20th December to which I even paid an deposit to ensure it would be long enough to get the work done needed. I Arrived at the surgery in the morning to the staff setting up for a Christmas party. Obviously this came as a shock to me. I was told they had booked me in 2020 Instead of 2019. Ita a shame such a decent dentist is let down by staff who clearly cant take bookings correctly. I will attempt the 460 Mile journey one more time before I drop this Dentist for good.

Cannot fault this place. Had my fillings done, deep cleaning and got surgery to take my back teeth out. From the reception to the surgeon I’ve only got good things about this place! Top class!

From the minute you walk into this dental surgery the reception staff make you feel completely at ease. This transcends from the waiting area into the dentists rooms where I found my dentist (James) to be exceptionally friendly and totally knowledgeable and confident in how he was going to proceed with my treatment..putting me at ease. Everything was explained clearly to me and different options given with regards to how to go forward. I found him to be honest and truthful - everything you’d hope for in a dentist. An excellent experience.

AVOID this dentist. I was referred to this dentist to get my wisdom tooth removed due to extreme pain. The “Doctor ” who removed my tooth made a mess of it. He stitched the inside of my cheek down to my gum causing a really bad infection in my mouth. I became so violently sick and ended up in the out of hours hospital. The dentist in the hospital stated my mouth was really badly infected and commented on what a bad job was made of my stitches. He also agreed that my cheek had been stitched down to my gums causing a blockage and an infection.

When I raised a formal complaint against this dentist due to the stress, pain and time I had to take off work because of him - the practice “Manager” was dismissive, unprofessional in response to my complaint raised. She refused to give me an apology, she refused to give me any refund and she also avoided addressing the main issue of my complaint - that the Dentist caused my mouth to become infected because he stitched the inside of my cheek down onto my gum!
The manager danced around this issue and actually made me feel I was getting a 'row' from her for raising this complaint. Her response caused me to become very upset and I have taken my case to the ombudsman.

I have photographic evidence of the stitches going through my cheek and sticking it down to my gum.

This practice is all about looking nice, new and shiny and making money from you. I will not let them get away with this.

DO NOT GO HERE.

Can’t recommend Lauren Humphries enough. I’m very nervous patient however Lauren put me at ease instantly. She has a very caring manner, listened to my concerns and was incredibly professional. Very happy with my treatment.

Highly recommend! Lovely modern dentist that’s very easy to get an appointment. The staff are so lovely and friendly and will go over and above to help you! :)
