They have no complaints process, I have asked for a copy of the T&C’s without prevail. I have asked to complain and be provided with a reference number or complaints process. They keep avoiding the question. This can’t be good for UK consumers. They are cheaper but at what cost.

Pretty much like all the other reviews. Absolutely no communication, poor customer service and leave you out of pocket. They state deposit is refundable after 30 working days (working days is a joke as well) but what they mean is after you’ve waited 30 working days you then have to begin fighting for your deposit back. Basically, avoid this company at all costs otherwise you’ll be in the same situation as the rest of us and now filling a complaint to trading standards about the fraud and deception of selfdrive UK.
Terrible customer service, absolutely harasses you when during the purchase stage to get you in. But if there is a problem, DO NOT expect to hear from them.
Cars broke down twice, terrible choice of cars and terrible customer service. Used these lot once and will be Sticking to SIXT in the future!
Waiting over a month for your deposit back as well! Even when submitted a refund request I had to chase to get the refund back even after the process was started, to then wait another 5 days.

“This company is a complete disgrace. Tried to charge me a £1,500 deposit on top of the £500 deposit and first month’s rental I’d already paid. Pure money grabbing.
I was promised I could switch to a cheaper car after the promo period, then they refused and left me paying £200 extra a month. Lies from the start.
The car had multiple issues and they couldn’t care less. Zero help, zero accountability.
Calling me at 8AM on CHRISTMAS morning demanding payment that wasn’t even late? That says everything about how unprofessional and aggressive they are.
They refused to reduce my price as a loyal customer, but the second I said I was leaving, they suddenly wanted to know my budget and offered discounts. So they COULD have helped—they just didn’t want to.
Returned the car on time and in perfect condition, yet they’re holding my deposit for a month and refusing to release it even though I need it for a dental emergency. Heartless and greedy.
This company only cares about squeezing money out of you. Customer service is appalling. Save yourself the stress and go anywhere else.”
Hired a car through SelfDrive to be collected at Drivalia Heathrow. Got there and had to wait almost two hours until we found out and amend SelfDrive error which set the collection to Manchester or something.
After returning the car, T&C says I had to request the £500 has to be refunded a month later, not before. I did it. Now it has been two weeks since the refund request and they dont tell me how long more until it gets released. Customer service asked for another week, maybe more.
I do not recommend this company.
I made a booking with SelfDriveUK, and paid £279, along with a £500 deposit. They requested various bits of info, including 2x utility bills, DVLA check code and photos of driving licence. All perfectly normal, except I then received a message to be told the car I booked wasn't actually available, and nor were there any cars at all. I had booked a car from Fulham - the only alternatives they could offer were from airports that were all miles further away.
The back-and-forth wasted a chunk of my day, and I'm now car-less despite being lead to believe my booking had gone through given the £279 booking fee charged and £500 deposit taken.
