We understand the complexities, sensitivities and demands that making a claim can bring and actively work in partnership with insurers, brokers and corporate businesses to resolve claims as quickly as possible.

Who we are 

Sedgwick is a firm of loss adjusters and claims handlers who look after claims on behalf of insurers. We work across the UK and have teams of specialists who can work with you to make sure your valid insurance claim is settled.

We look after a range of claims including damage to your home including home emergencies, flooding, storm, subsidence, storm and accidental damage. We will also manage your car insurance claim after you’ve been in a car accident.

What we do 

If you’re unfortunate enough to experience damage to your property or be involved in a car accident your insurer will ask us to look into the claim. We follow the insurer’s guidance and policy wording to establish what’s covered and what’s excluded. If your claim is covered then we work with you to assess the extent of the damage and then put plans in place to ensure the damage to your home or car is repaired.

Should you need them, our expert repair network is on hand to provide a full range of building repair services for both domestic and commercial situations.

Very thorough and pleasant

After our house fire in Dec 2025, this horrid event has been made easier by the prompt action of the Fire Investigator followed by the Loss Adjusters Sedgwick.
We had a visit from Ishmael from Sedgwick who was very thorough and put our minds at ease. He organised the visits from companies to do the cleaning and asbestos removal. We had a few problems with completing the BER list provided by spreadsheet as we couldn’t print it out, but managed to create our own hand written list which Ishmael took away and completed and returned the spreadsheet for us to check and agree.
The claim was settled and payment was made in March 2026.
All in all a very positive experience to a horrible event no one ever wants to happen to them, but has been made better from the expertise of Ishmael from Sedgwick, cleaners,Heightvale and asbestos removal company, SCI.
We are still decorating but nearly there now.

Poor claims service

I have tried several times to do a claim online but the system doesn’t work. Rubbish! Made a call and went through my whole claim with advisor only to (conveniently) get cut off at the end! No call back so now I have to start again. Not easy process at all!

Appalling customer service

Despite several attempts to progress to the start of the resolution of the work required i remain uncontacted, apart from a diversionary im your first point of contact email. If your hoping for a professional outfit id look
anywhere else. In reply. There's bound to be 4 or 5 unread emails in the inbox. This is the third time I've logged a review to prompt contact, perhaps improve the service? And i won't be holding my breath

Would give 0 stars if possible

Would give 0 stars if possible. Confirmed our appointment on the Friday for the following Monday. Both my husband and I took the day off to await the visit. No-one arrived, the consultant was apparently on leave and we were not notified. They then only arranged an assessment via video call!! How can you fully assess a sink hole, the extent of damage and cause without being present in person? Disgusted with the service!! The report they formulated from this video call deemed we were not covered by the insurance. Very convenient!!

Terrible Service

Terrible Service, emergency claim has been going on for weeks and still toilet in pieces and unusable. Takes forever to get through to someone on the phone and half the time they cut you off and never call back. Sent the wrong person round to my house at one point and had many arguments on the phone blaming me for stuff that was not my fault.

Dealt with my business interruption claim very efficiently and professionally, keeping me informed all the way.
Mr Sushil Chander of Sedgwick was a credit to the firm and a great help to me when I needed it.

Fire at our property

After a frightening experience with a fire we contacted our insurers and within a few days were contacted by Michelle Powell fromSedgwick to arrange a visit by their local assessor Simon Westlake. Simon attended and took photos and gave time to explain the process, something we (thankfully) hadn’t through before. Once the contents were cleared contractors were arranged and repaired the building. The contractors used were very professional and courteous.Throughout the process Michelle kept us updated with Simon stepping in if any clarification was needed. The works are now complete and we can resume our lives and would like thank the team for their service

Storm Damage

Sedgwick dealt with with our household claim following storm damage to our property in November last year.
We were very pleased with the way our handler Michelle Powell put all the necessary arrangements into place so that the redecoration works could take place smoothly.
Michelle was also just a phone call or email away to answer any questions that we had.
A very positive experience.

Emergency home cover not worth having

Genuinely surprised there aren't more negative reviews based on my experience. Plumber arrived as part of my emergency home cover service as I had a burst hot water internal pipe which I had already isolated. Plumber spent at most 5 mins at the property (shone a torch at back of sink and reconnected waste pipe I had removed to get to isolation valve), said it was the Flexi hose that had burst and would have to send a quote for approval as would be a 2 person job as would need to remove Belfast sink to replace pipe but it should be covered. When asked said it would prob take a few days.
Over a week later, I hadn't received any further communication, rang for an update to be told they had closed the case and it wasn't covered as emergency cover doesn't cover having to remove things to access/repair so basically, cover isn't worth the paper it's written on and the lack of communication is dreadful. Been left without hot water in kitchen to do washing up etc all that time.
Update 08/04/26 I have had a return call this morning after raising a complaint..They still won't come and fix th issue but have offered a small amount of compensation due to the lack of communication.

Highly recommended following extensive work on our driveway

We recently had extensive work carried out on our driveway through Sedgewick, and I cannot speak highly enough of the entire experience from start to finish.

Ashley Roberts managed the project with reassuring professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care for minimising disruption to our day-to-day lives. From the initial communication through to completion, everything was handled clearly and promptly, which made what could have been a stressful situation feel very manageable.

The contractors themselves, Philip and his team, were outstanding - punctual, respectful, and highly skilled. They took great care with the work, kept the area as tidy as possible throughout, and were always courteous and approachable. It was clear they took real pride in what they were doing.

Michael Courtney and Fay Davis were incredibly personable from the outset, keeping us informed of what was needed, the costs, and the progress.

What impressed us most was that the work was completed ahead of schedule and under budget, without any compromise on quality. The finished driveway looks fantastic, and we are absolutely delighted with the result.

A huge thank you to the insurance company and the excellent team they appointed, who took the stress out of the whole process. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

Utterly Appalling Service

Utterly appalling service from Sedgwick. Again. I was passed from one disinterested, apathetic person to another. It was not until I lodged an official complaint that I received anything resembling adequate service. Even then, it was no more than adequate. A very stressful, frustrating and disappointing experience. Avoid them at all costs!

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent service provided by Ricky Matthews.

Ricky was very friendly, polite, and above all highly professional throughout the entire process. His communication was clear, prompt, and he handled everything with great care and attention to detail.

What impressed me the most was his dedication and commitment. During the review, Ricky identified an issue within the policy and, thanks to his professionalism and integrity, the full compensation was processed and paid. This level of diligence and fairness is truly commendable.
