A shame how poor Scribbler have become

Scribbler used to be great and has been my go-to for years however this past year things have gone downhill. High prices, overly long wait for delivery and poor customer service. A card I ordered recently did not arrive - I ordered 3 weeks ago and still no sign. I had to buy a generic card from M&S instead as ran out of time so I am now out of pocket. I will no longer be using Scribbler. Such a shame as I always loved the products.

Took my money and ran

I ordered some cards from here. After over 10 days of nothing and not hearing from them, I reached out. They replied saying that the cards I chose no longer existed so they couldn't print them. They weren't ever going to inform me of this, they had one intention, to keep the money!
It's now a battle to get a response from their customer service team despite them offering a refund, they have still done nothing about it.
Please avoid making the same mistake as this firm is not genuine.

****Update. they reached out to me again as I left a review and said they had a problem receiving emails. They also reported my review as defamatory and tried getting Trustpilot to remove this (despite their apologetic reply below). They thankfully reviewed and agreed with me.****

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, as discussed through our email conversation, I understand and sympathise with your frustrations - it's frustrating for us too having encountered these issues where we would love to provide an excellent customer experience.

I'm sorry again for the issue encountered where your order hadn't gone through to printing as expected due to an error with one of the cards in the order - The printing of orders is supposed to be automated so they would go through to the next stage for printing without supervision - unfortunately that meant that this error had slipped through.

Thank you for bringing that to our attention - we were able to communicate with you a few hours after on the same day as your email was sent across to us (Feb 4th) to explain this error, and gave the option of a refund/resend - the refund was requested and actioned today (5th Feb).

It would never be the intention of ours to keep money for an unfulfilled order, and we acted promptly once we were aware of this issue. As mentioned in our email conversation, I'd like to apologise on behalf of the whole Scribbler team for any inconvenience that this would have caused. I hope you have a lovely rest of the day.

Amazing products and great costumer service in person and online.

An amazing shop! I've always bought cards from here because they're so funny and creative compared to other shops and I like the stamp system to get a free card after so many. I went in a couple days ago trying to find one of their cards they have online and they actually gave me a QR code that allowed me to get it for free and only had to pay delivery which was so nice of them. I had a little error with the text as I wrote a lot and it said it fit on the page however I noticed when it was sent it didn't fit and as my anniversary was tomoz I wasn't sure if I got the right shipping for it to come on time and asked to pay to upgrade my shipping and if the card was able to be fixed in time which shipping was my fault for not checking and when I emailed and explained this, they got back to me super fast only like an hour or so later and told me they resized it and upgraded the shipping for free due to the text error which made my day and allowed me to not have to worry about fixing the text or it not showing up on time. Amazing customer service by James! Highly recommend shopping here and it's very trustworthy with great quality! The staff are always so friendly in person too!

Within our conversation the packing mistake was apologised for and we had arranged for the correct amount of envelopes to be sent out free of charge for you, as well as a £5 voucher being sent across as an apology for this error.

The new Shopify website is really bad

Great cards, good service. However please ditch the new website and go back to the old one.

Like most other comments here I have the same problem. New website wiped everything out I used for years.

Worse than that though, the new website experience is really bad. As a web developer myself they have fallen into the Shopify trap. A one size fits all platform not suitable for this type of website.

The old website worked well and was easy to use. The new one is slow, clunky, buggy, changes orders, changes addresses on orders. It is just rubbish. Please get rid of it so I can enjoy using Scribbler again.

Very crude and explicit cards in the window.
There should not need to be a warning sign re. explicit cards in a family greetings card shop.

We’ve built our brand based on cheeky and irreverent humour aimed at a mature audience, due to this we aren't a 'family' shop and thus advisory is used in store for customers who may not appreciate the products and for families visiting our stores.

The products in question are not meant to be targeted at children and due to the adult nature of some of these we expect parents to shop with their children at their own discretion. In the shop windows we have a big Parental Guidance sign and we also use PG warning signs in store.

SHOCKING HOW MUCH SCRIBBLER HAS DETERIORATED

All day I’ve been trying to use Scribbler but I am just wasting my time! Ive had an account for years but today I found that my whole address book has been wiped! Absolute rubbish and nobody to contact. I persevered as I have nearly £40 in prepay. Got to checkout, it insisted I pay again. Rather than waste any more time I typed in cc details and pressed pay. All I got then was that my order total has changed (?). I tried and tried and used a different card same result. It’s EXASPERATING HOW MUCH THIS COMPANY HAS DETERIORATED…

Really gone downhill since they changed…

Really gone downhill since they changed their website. Used to be user friendly, and simple to use. They new site buffers all the time, so you get limited choices, the order history doesn't work, the prepay goes off line on a regular basis. The functionality is confusing. I keep emailing them, and clearly they are sticking with it which is such a shame as they used to be so good and I have had a account with them for years.

Brilliant cards and customer service

Brilliant cards and customer service. When the postal service was non-functioning about a year ago they re-sent some lost cards by recorded next-day delivery for free. And they post for free to BFPO addresses. Easy to contact customer service - they reply quickly and care about their customers.

Only issue is that the website currently is cutting off text written into cards. I've reported this so hopefully it will be fixed.

Very prompt delivery and great designs

Very prompt delivery and great designs. However quality of cards is extremely poor. I'm sure my home printer could've printed better quality.
Cards came flat and I've now had them under a pile of heavy books as they won't stay folded well enough to stand up.
Disappointed as for the same price you can get a lovely glossy card from other companies .

Our card products are printed as advertised on our product pages with thick 350 GSM cardboard, with a matte finish using high quality vegetable ink. These allow us to be as environmentally friendly as possible as is our stance:

In store products may be printed with a glossy finish dependant on the supplier of the design.

Having a look at the order this review relates to, due to the quantity of cards in this order they would all be sent in a card backed envelope and would have been left unfolded to avoid damage on transit - the folding line would have still been made so this should allow you to fold the cards to the same quality expected.

Thief!

I went into the Canary Wharf store yesterday and spent £40.99 on a few bits. The shop worker told me my payment did not go through and I need to tap again. I tapped again, as who would expect a store in a prime location to steal from you?

After leaving the store, I checked my bank to see two payments were pending on my account. I went back into the store and asked the shop worker why he charged me twice. He told me that he hasn’t and ‘the machine just does that sometimes and it won’t charge you’.

Today, both payments are no longer pending and have actually been taken out of my account.

If this is an honest mistake, check your cctv at or slightly after 14:15 on Sunday the 17th of November, check your transaction history and refund my money.

Order not despatched by time promised

Website says "If you place your Standard Delivery card order before 3pm, Monday to Friday (excluding UK Bank Holidays) we can say with absolute certainty that it will be dispatched on the same day – yay!".

Email Confirmation dated "Wed 02/10/2024 14:57"

Delivery Email saying "One item in your order is on the way" dated "03 October 2024 09:44"

So order not despatched, as promised.

Customer Services responded "I'd assume the reason was that the artwork hadn't generated yet before the 3pm cut off time"

3 weeks to receive my order

I recently ordered some cards from Scribbler because I love their quirky designs, but unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed this time around. The cards took longer than expected to arrive, which was frustrating as one was for a birthday that I ended up missing. When they did arrive, one of the cards was bent at the corner, and the colors on another looked slightly faded compared to what I saw online. I do appreciate their unique humor, but the quality and delivery just didn’t match up to the price I paid.

What a con

Company doesn’t even deserve a star. They have gone completely downhill.
Paid £4.99 for UK Special Delivery next day. 3 days later and the birthday card still has not arrived, only just had an email saying it has been dispatched. Recipients birthday has now been and gone. Will never use this tired company again, would not recommend to anyone.
