My training has been a journey. I had some great moments and also down moments as-well. I have met great lectures that help me a lot and I’m grateful. However, my placement experience was not the best experience as I was barely observed and given feedback and more. As a result, I didn’t gain the knowledge and experience I would of hoped. Overall, I think SCCD is a decent company.

The training was very helpful, it was also an eye opener it made me aware of how the school system works, what is expected and how to work with young people. The support was great and I enjoyed every bit of it.

My placement experience was very good just because of my teacher Paulina and student support team, they help me with all my ups and down. Paulina is the best teacher I have ever had ❤, I have completed my placement and all course work just because of Paulina and student support team, they encouraged me all the time and given me extra support whenever I needed. I highly recommend SCCD Training for Level 3 and Level 5 diploma.

I love my tutor Paulina. She is very helpful. She has helped me alot personally and encouraged me through my training.

If you want to become a great Teacher Assistant in the future, I would recommend to certify with SCCD. The course provided me with valuable information on being a TA and what the role will entail. The Teachers and staff are very helpful.

The training was a very responsive one with full support from the lecturer.The placement helped me to know what I must improve on as a teaching assistant. Training with sccd really helped ...and the lecturer had been a great pivot for me completing this course.I will recommend training with sccd to everyone

Although I had lots of health and family problems since I started this course, but my teacher ,placement department support me lots to complete my course and they give me extra time to submit my assignments. I had a good experience with them.

My placement school was good. My class teacher allowed me to participate actively to assist the pupils. All staff were very kind and supportive.

I think like most companies it is very difficult to get things perfect. However at SCCD I have had a fantastic tutor, Paul, whom is very knowledgeable, supportive and caring. The blended learning online and in the classroom has been a good combination for me.
There has been some staffing issues which was out of their hands but did make certain aspects difficult but they rectified with someone great.
Only thing I would say is please ensure your sales teams know what is included and the process of the training, as it leaves unnecessary disappointment when certain things aren't what you thought they would be.
Overall, I would recommend.

I joined SCCD in Dec 2016.The best thing about SCCD was my lecturer, Paul Colgrave. And the worst was the head of the program, Ms Alexis. Paul is an amazing teacher. He stood by my side throughout my journey and was always there when I needed him. He is the reason why I didn't give up and got my diploma. Around July 2017, almost 7 months into the course, and after completing units 18, 21, and almost 34, we were told that we have been doing it all wrong. Becuase Ms Alexis didn't bother to review our assignmnets before, which was her job. Anyway, this caused a huge issue for us and we felt very demotivated and discouraged to the level where some of the students left the course in the middle because it was becoming too much for them. But rest of us continued, thanks to Paul. The administration at SCCD is also very supportive. My placement coordinator at the time was Emily and she was amazing. She helped me find a school nearby and I learnt so much from my placement. Paul was approachable and accomodating during my placement and always made time to review my work place evidence. I took longer than expected to complete my portfolio because I had to take a break and had to reregister at one point because of my personal issues. But never had any issues in approaching him. On the other hand, Ms Alexis never disappointment in showing her rude behaviour. I always found her tune very demeaning and attitude very harsh. Still I don't regret joining SCCD because DET is a professional qualification and no place is perfect. What matters in the end is that I got my diploma and the person I had to deal with the most was an amazing teacher and mentor

Nice staff at sccd, good in giving attention. My lecture Paul a very strong man and good in giving out details. He takes time to explain to make sure you understand the issue

I had joined SCCD with the objective of getting my level 3 Diploma as a Teaching assistant which I have now. The pandemic did cause some interruptions but finally with the help and correct guidance of my lecturer Paulina I made it. I did manage to arrange for my own placement so can't say how SCCD is in that.

I had a really bad learner experience with this company. They are the worst company ever. Do not trust them. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

I was slightly anxious and unsure of how my teacher training experience was going to be at the beginning of the year, but SCCD training has worked vigorously to make sure that students still got the most out of the course. The lectures have been engaging and I quickly managed to get to grips with online learning. At first, I was a little worried about using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google classroom and interacting with the group online, but lectures were well planned, and everything was easily accessible.
SCCD training guided us through the year by being very responsive to emails and sending regular updates and information to support us through the ongoing uncertainty, which in turn meant that my initial teacher placement was able to go ahead with relative ease.
The fact I was able to progress with my placement experience is something I’m extremely grateful for. It’s been fantastic, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve been able to go to school every day and the safety measures put in place by the school ensured that teaching could operate as normally as possible. I don’t feel as though I’ve missed out, as I have still been able to teach according to the PGCE programme guidance. If anything, I feel like I have benefitted more from being able to experience both classroom based and remote teaching.
The remote teaching side of things has helped me become more adaptable and to face any future challenges head-on. I used technology that I hadn’t used before and so gained confidence in IT. I was also involved in researching engaging and motivating content, which is particularly important for children learning remotely, and was something I might not have otherwise had the opportunity to do.
Working with teenager meant that I had to ensure the learning instructions and language were accessible for parents and guardians, as they are often the ones supporting their child through the tasks online. I was not only giving feedback to children but also responding daily to the feedback of parents and carers about how the children had engaged in an activity. This was valuable for the assessment process and used to plan further activities.
At times I was teaching partly in the classroom and partly remotely, and this helped me to strengthen my time management skills, IT skills. This could be challenging – as I needed to ensure that lesson planning, marking, feedback and assessment were all up to date for both groups KS4/5 – but it was also highly rewarding to see student learn during this challenging time. Whilst doing the teacher training course, I met many other learners on the same path as me and sharing our experiences was a great support to keep focus. I found our lectures pleasant, and the tutors were able enhanced our skills and knowledge, giving us the confidence and guidance to complete our placements during the pandemic.
I’ve really enjoyed my teacher training in my placement, especially watching pupil learn and progress while also gaining confidence and developing as a teacher myself. The lecturers ensured that the programme was enjoyable and engaging despite the challenges that we faced during COVID 19. The course pushes you to develop, not only as a teacher but also in terms of your broader skills. Having to balance school-based training with lectures and assignments is demanding, but so worthwhile, especially when you meet your end goal and gain QTLS! It was one of the most rewarding, challenging and also year of my life, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. You need to push yourself, challenge yourself as this course is not for the light hearted!

I have been on the journey with SCCD TRAINING for my level 5 in Teaching.

The journey was very challenging due to the pandemic, at one point I wanted to give up because I was getting frustrated and stressed.

However the staff at SCCD are one of the best in the business.

Why?

Not only did they go beyond for all learners but they put themselves and family last in trying to support us.

I am so grateful for all the support I have been given due to the fact I wanted to quit but my tutor said to me to stopped and think positive and look how far you have come I won't let you.

I was touch from those words. I am almost there on the finishing line.

I definitely recommended SCCD brilliant and supportive staff.

Completing my teaching qualification with SCCD alongside work was challenging but anything worth doing requires commitment and hard work and thanks to SCCD they made it affordably possible. My lecturer was extremely helpful, pushing me to excel and ensuring I maintained high standards in my teaching and learning at all times. The course had provided me with a wealth of knowledge and skills that has ensured I became an effective and efficient teacher.

SCCD is an excellent place for people who want to become a qualified teacher in the UK. This organisation gives a good level of support and helps their learners to achieve high standards of work. Staff is really cooperative and worked with us throughout the COVID lockdown time. Helped me to get placement even during COVID lockdown.
