I have just noticed that they are closed. They supplied excellent quality shoes. They are durable,good quality leather and perfect size. I was looking for another black pair of shoes but can't see them anywhere. Hope they will open soon.

Gutted to discover that SW have closed down. Went on their website to get some more shoes, I have bought many pairs over the years. There is a note on the website to say that they will be re-opening. Hope so!

Sorry to see them closing. They have served me well for many years. Their quality and attention to detail was better than others at several times the price. Their trousers and shirts have been my mainstay.
Good luck to all the staff finding new jobs in a difficult world.

I’m so sorry to see Samuel Winsor close. I’ve been a customer for many years buying quality clothes, shoes and accessories for the men in my life. I was always delighted with anything I bought. The after sale service was excellent. I will miss my one stop go to shop this Christmas. Best of luck the team

The bad reviews are BS.

I’m gutted to find out SW have ceased trading. I’ve bought dozens of pairs of shoes - all have been fantastic and offered the same quality as my Loaks.

Never had any problems with Samuel Windsor. I have purchased many pairs of shoes and boots from them and the quality has always been top notch. Very sad to hear that they have now stopped trading.

Had used them for about 15 years and apart from minor problems excellent products, price and service.
Over the years over 30 pairs of shoes, of which probably over 20, I still wear.3/4 suits, half a dozen jackets and pairs of strides and over a dozen shirts.
Yes towards the end, problems with stock, always refunded/ didn't take funds till order ready for dispatch.
I for one am very sad to see them go, although my wife is happy as running out of wardrobe space.

Very sad to learn SW are closing down. Best value for money bar none. Fantastic quality and fit, have been getting all my formal shoes with them for 6 years and more recently clothes. I did wonder how they could sustain such low prices. Well I guess I now know.. they couldn't. So, where do I go now??? Help!!!!

YES, the company has now closed but let me add my voice -- posthumously, as it were -- to the praise that the company rightfully earned: they offered superb quality footwear for an obscenely low price.

I know nothing about the company other than what I received from them in terms of great quality, great service and a dirt cheap price.

Of course there was no doubt chaos as they closed down but I wish the owners a happy retirement and I hope that the staff relocate quickly.

Actually if I could I would give them BELOW ZERO STARS!
Husband ordered mid August. Like what happened to many other people, they took our money IMMEDIATELY. I guess my husband was 'lucky' as his order arrived at the beginning of Septemeber. We were informed one pair of shoes was out of stock. They promised to give refund but my husband had to chase it. Otherwise they would have, conveniently, forgot to give the money back. Anyway when the order finally arrived, my husband realized a pair of trousers didn't fit, so he returned them. This was on Sept 15. They received it back n Sept 18. We still have not received any refund. I called them today: option 2 enquiries doesn't work. Option 1place an order (????) how is this possible now that the website is shut!!!) a very rude lady answered after a very short while and slammed me down the phone. Well Samuel Windsor, at the moment from where I am standing you stole us £ 15 . I am very angry. Let's see if you are answering to email sent today. I have contacted my credit card. I want our money back

Absolutely gutted that they are closing down. I used to buy much dearer Loakes and Barkers before I found SW. Excellent shoes, superb quality and I really don't know where to go next. Good luck to the owners in retirement, you are going to be missed!

Have ordered from Samuel Windsor for over 10 years. Love their tweed jackets. Never had a problem though delivery can take a while.
Very sorry to hear that they are closing down and have placed about half a dozen orders during their closing down sale. Items have all arrived so far and refunds have been received for returned items.
You will be missed.

I have been a customer of Samuel Windsor for some years and have regularly purchased from them. I am amused by some of the reviews left recently about slow delivery. Samuel Windsor have made it clear that they are closing down, so yes, those reviewer who say that they will not buy from them again, will not if the company is closing! I, for one, am heartbroken that they are closing down. I like their products and prices, and now regret not stocking up with more items earlier this year! Good bye SW, you will be missed and I am sad that you did not sell the company rather than simply retire.

Charged me for items bought nearly 3 months ago. After chasing them up and being assured I’d get a refund I then received an email from paypal informing me that I had been sent a partial refund.

The shoes went out of stock and they refunded me less the shipping fee… scam. I will be claiming for it back.

I have been a customer for many years. As soon as I realised they were closing shop I was honestly saddened as all my footwear other than trainers comes from Samuel Windsor. I placed an original order after 3 weeks cancelled it thinking I would not receive it. However due to the quality of the shoes I decided to place a second order and just wait it out. After one month of placing the second order to my delight the order arrived, all 8 pairs of shoes. I have just placed another order for additional footwear as my size is not normally stocked in most high street stores or online for that fact. If your patient and willing to wait you can get your hands on these perfect shoes also. Just a side note when you place an order SW will authorise the payment from your card. The authorisation lasts approx 7 days. If SW do not despatch the order within 7 days the authorisation is automatically cancelled and the funds available again in your account. Once SW are ready to ship your order they will simply recharge your original card for the value of the order. Please remember they are closing down so they are seeing a huge amount of orders coming in so it will take them longer to process and ship.

Placed my order on 8 July. Initial email queries met with silence. More recently SW have introduced an auto response email which is phrased to keep buying them more time by keeping the customer dangling. Finally lost interest after 8 weeks waiting when informed even more of my order was out of stock. All this time SW are still taking new orders knowing they can’t deliver on existing orders. Avoid like the plague

Placed my order, waited the 21 days then chased them up. Then read all these reviews and panicked!

SW replied on the third day with their sincerest apologies and the parcel coincidently arrived the next day (today). Jacket is great, fit & quality all what I expected and for £39 is well worth the wait/hassle.

There is clearly a lot of chaos with them at the moment but I don’t think anyone is out to rip you off… If you do order just be prepared to deal with the chaos!

Avoid this company at all costs.

It is no wonder that they are closing down, though I wouldn't be surprised if this is a scam and they will just reopen under another name. I have used them before and the shoes are ok though nothing like the high street price comparisons they print. Delivery has always been shoddy but I have been waiting for 5 weeks and still no joy. Mind you they use Hermes and they are rubbish, cheap though for SW. Customer service is unbelievably bad probably the worst I have ever encountered rude and arrogant.

I placed an order on July 5th. It was never shipped. They charged my credit card right away. I've made several calls and emails, to no avail. They will steal your money. Do not place an order, as you will never get it.
