The gym was bought by Everlast and with some improvements to the sauna and steam room, the main problem is the its dirty!! the pool tiles are falling of and the jaquzi never works. Its a shame as when it does the jets are awesome. The showers are dirty/scummy and suffering big time from no investment.

I returned to Roko Health Club after an absence of eight years. Wanting yo focus on my health i plunged straight back in with regular Aqua Aerobics classes which led on to Pilates and Bone Density Pilates all taught by the fantasyic teacher Vanessa Declercq who teaches structured classes and shows us how to exercise properly. The Club is friendly and well organised and i have not looked back since i joined in January 2024, nearly one year ago.
Terrible customer service
No towels. Hit and miss with the staff. Some are really nice and friendly. Some seem to have zero customer service training and borderline rude. Swimming pool area is cold as a staff leave the door open because it’s too stuffed and he needs to breath but the kids are literally shivering in cold. Echoing other reviews as I also hesitated to leave this negative feedback since this is my local gym, but the level of unprofessionalism and lack of care towards their members and children is unacceptable. The club is being sold to a different owner, hopefully whoever is buying this place will do a complete investigation / re-training of the staffing, if you want to survive as a business. For now, I have given notice to cancel my membership. Let’s see how they will treat me after this review and I’ll update accordingly.
No duty of care
I hesitated to leave this review since this is my local gym, but the level of unprofessionalism and lack of care towards their members is unacceptable.
I discovered I was being overcharged for my membership—someone living at the same address with the exact same type of membership was paying around £25 less. While I understand there can be variations in pricing based on when you sign up, I felt deceived. When I reached out to the team via email to inquire about this discrepancy, my message was ignored. Fine. I decided to give notice to end my membership.
On top of that, a personal trainer from this gym scammed me out of £200. I had no previous issues with this trainer and had paid in advance for sessions. Then suddenly, I went up to six weeks without any response from them despite having already paid. This is certainly not how you treat a paying client. This happened in June, and it's now September, and I still haven't received a refund.
When I visited the gym in July, I was informed that the trainer was on holiday and not even responding to the staff. I was advised to dispute the payment with my bank, but that's difficult since I used a debit card. They seemed to not care at all that I had been robbed by someone they endorse and promote.
It’s frustrating that in both situations, I’ve been let down and neglected by the staff. For a gym that charges over £100 for memberships, you expect a level of basic decency and professionalism.

The no towel gym
I joined Roko in May 2024 and found the surfaces very slippy. When I visited in early June I was greeted with a sign on reception that towels are no longer available, I had to drive home to get my own towel. No management on duty to discuss this and no email notification about the removal of the towel service.
In my view the gym have breached their contract conditions and I submitted my request to cancel my membership. I received an email reply four days later stating I cannot cancel my membership and am now trapped in a gym I don't want to be involved with.
I have not been issued a membership card as the reception machine that issues the full membership ID card is broken.
I have fallen twice in the gym changing rooms due to wet surfaces.
The members car park is full of potholes on a rough gravel surface.
When attending the gym all I hear is members complaining of how standards have dropped.

Slippery floors around the pool with people constantly slipping and they won’t put down mats as don’t care about their customers or staff slipping and hurting themselves. Even children are slipping around the pool and they don’t care.
The sauna is missing large pieces of seating areas and looks disgusting. It has not been refurbished in about 20 years.
They often don’t have towels due to cheap suppliers.
A few showers don’t work properly and most have low water pressure.
The staff are generally very rude apart from one guy in the morning who is very pleasant. The rest are bloody awful to deal with.
The only way they keep their customers is the 3 month notice period you have to give to leave.
Avoid the gym at all costs. I would rather travel 2 hours to a gym than go to ROKO

Dirty
Dirty. Old equipment. Sauna seats falling apart. Jacuzzi covered in scum. Over the 14 years i've been a member they have continously underinvested in the facilities and now cant afford to fix anything. The installation of an unused powerrack and a sled track are a token to attract the younger trainer who cant afford the 90 a month anyway. Aside from Dittan the scruffy and unprofessional front desk man with the beanie is a jobsworth.

Lovely staff
Ive been coming in for guess passes for a few months now and I'm glad I've joined the manager Darrell seems to always have it under control and have a smile on his face. The rest of the staff are also lovely and enjoy going to the gym and made me feel like a second home
best gym in the west
The staff are always so friendly and willing to help. On arrival you are greeted with a smile asked how your day was and if you need anything. Upstairs the gym team are always there for questions and help you with workouts and understanding how to use equipment.
Speaking of equipment it’s top class everything is in perfect condition and always neatly packed away.
The sauna, steam room and showers are clean and the changing rooms are spacious.
Best gym in the west
Pleased I joined Roko Chiswick
The gym is well equipped and spacious. There are plenty of classes to choose from.
The swimming pool is decent enough and a bonus that most gyms wouldn’t have.
Sauna and steam rooms are both okay. The jacuzzi tiles need to be cleaned more regularly.
As with all the gyms, there a few people that seem to think it is okay to sit on one machine for 20 minutes or use two at a time, but overall, a good mixed crowd.
Roko Chiswick is a happy place
Roko Chiswick is friendly, laid back and non-pretentious which makes it much easier to turn up and work out!
I have seen the same staff for years which is a sign of a happy team. Some can be a little unapproachable or disinterested but on the whole they are a nice team and friendly.
Cafe is a gem. Food always delivered with care and they are a lovely bunch.
Gym is excellently stocked with good equipment and plenty of space. It’s a pleasure working out in the afternoons when it’s quieter.
Love the pool! Especially when not overrun!
Only real complaint? The showers are in need of refurbishment, I would go as far to say crumbling… almost… broken controls, screw holes in the wall, broken tiles and dirty grout…and with increased membership I hope they will be refurbished soon.
Overall… love Roko… and it would have to be exceptional to get 5 stars so 4 is a good review I think 🌟
So disgusted with this company
So disgusted with this company. I had to move out of the area quite far away due to my mental health and signs for a 3 months 12 and and being forced to pay when I my free month's trial ended and like I said I had to move out the area due to poor mental health and now being Chase 7 months later for the money. Absolutely disgusted they have no empathy disgusted
I love using this club
I love using this club. The staff are welcoming and helpful and I think the club is well managed. It’s very well equipped and clean. Lucie keeps the ladies changing rooms very clean. The cafe is very good and offers good value food and drinks.
The only downsides are -
The pool does need a lot of tiles replacing (due to be done later this month)
The jacuzzi, steam room and sauna suffer regular breakdowns
The car park is very spacious BUT gets very waterlogged in bad weather

Needs A LOT of improvements and TLC for the price they charge
The pool is missing tiles and also has chipped mosaic tiles inside.
The steam room has missing mosaic tiles.
The female shower pressure is very low and takes forever to have a shower / wash your hair. It’s also super hot water, can’t get lukewarm. The grills all over are mouldy and full of dust. Reception is usually half asleep.

Friendly welcome and well maintained
I always have a great session at Roko. The team are great - Ananya welcomed me and Will is always up for a chat on the gym floor. The gym is well maintained and spa is great for recovery.
