Deceptive sales practices! Horrible Service
Opening a small business in today's economy is hard enough without companies such as Riverside using the deceptive tactics, they used on me to get me to change my processing to them. They utilized PB Payments to provide lie after lie, use high pressure sales tactics and even a "guarantee of savings" to get me to sign up with them. I was told "get as much equipment as you want it doesn't cost anything" I was told $499 would be my approximate processing per month, not the cost of equipment per month. They "guaranteed" I would pay 1.48% - 3.99%. They charged 4.36%, 6.5%, 8.15%, 4.63%, 5.32% and 6.8%. I could not get help from anyone at either company as they could not figure out what was wrong. The withdrawals from my account were enormous. $620 for equipment monthly $150 for clover charges monthly, (neither of which I was told about) then the enormous processing charges on top of that. This is astronomical to a new business trying to make it. I requested cancellation (based on their guarantee and I was not being charged what was in the guarantee) in August before they put me out of business.
What a nightmare, I called RIVERSIDE to cancel they sent me to PB PAYMENTS, and back and forth, back and forth with no accountability. Each company said the other had to take care of it. I completely stopped processing with them in November and went directly through Clover. Meanwhile I am still being billed $16,000 for the lease they said they would pay off if I did not save money. with processing through Riverside.
I had an attorney intervene and they went so far as to say I "toggled off" the cash discount program so I broke the guarantee. Why would anyone turn something off that would save them money?
I even contacted the owner of Riverside Payments and all he did was send me back to PB Payments who said they upheld their end of guarantee. I asked how, she said they fixed the processing charges, I asked when? She said it was January of 2025, two months after I went to another company.
I would NEVER recommend this company or Pb Payments to anyone. The salesman (one of my customers) even quit working there due to the way they lied to customers to get them to sign up.
They clearly only care about their commissions and bottom line to deceive people like this.
