Four friends planned a trip to Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka with the help of Rickshaw Travel. We had lots of ideas, knew what we wanted and didn’t want, and David from Rickshaw Travel helped us shape our ideas into a superb trip. He worked tirelessly to put together a trip we were happy with, finding us interesting places to stay, great wildlife watching opportunities, in country support, all at a very reasonable price. When our return home was disrupted by the Middle East conflict David and Daisy were on our case straight away, got us flights home by Singapore, Beijing and Brussels and supported us all the way meeting our out of pocket expenses. A great travel company I’m recommending to all my friends and sure we will use them again.

A friend and I have just returned from a 4 week odyssey in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, put together by Steve. It was an amazing experience per se, made all the better by superb organisation and communication, both before we went and during the trip. Things happened as planned, the local guides were superb and the various organised 'experiences' gave us some great insights into life in these wonderful countries. This is the first time we have used Rickshaw; we will be looking at their other destinations and will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else looking to travel slightly off the beaten track

We have previously used Rickshaw for holidays in Vietnam, Camodia and Laos, Cuba, Sri Lanka, Peru and Argentina and have just returned from nearly 4 weeks in Thailand. Excellent. Both Rickshaw and their Thai partner Khiri Travel put together an excellent trip...10 days travelling to Hellfire Pass, Bridge over the River Kwai at Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, overnight train (a great experience!) to Chiang Mai and ending with a week on Kho Tao and a week on Koh Samui. We had amazing experiences...including a food tour of Chiang Mai, a day's snorkeling in Koh Tao and a sunset cruise on a junk in Koh Samui. A big thankyou to Steve for his advice in arranging our trip and some super hotels. We love the fact that Rickshaw allows us to travel and explore independently but knowing that there is always help at hand should it be needed.

We really enjoyed the bespoke planning from Ceri as she put together our itinerary for Chile and Argentina. The comms and on the ground support were excellent . All of the above made it a great experience thank you.

We have recently returned from our 2nd holiday with Rickshaw. This time we were returning from Sri Lanka on the day the Middle East conflict broke out. Our flights via Doha were cancelled. I emailed Rickshaw from the airport for help and advice. They suggested a viable route back which I booked for only 3 days later than planned. They assured me the flight and hotel costs would be refunded, which they did the day after we returned. I would recommend Rickshaw, they work with you to put together a bespoke itinerary at a very reasonable price. They use some fabulous small family run hotels. Of course I was delighted to see how well they responded to a crisis. Well done to the Rickshaw team

We have used Rickshaw for very many years for holidays around the world from China and SE Asia to South America. They have always been excellent, from planning to in-country delivery. Our latest trip to Sri Lanka was everything we could have wished for.

Very happy with our itinerary put together by rickshaw travel for our holiday in Japan. Just the right amount of organisation but with flexibility for us to do what we wanted. Very helpful would highly recommend.

Just returned from a South India and Sri Lanka trip organised by David. We had a brilliant trip with accommodation that fitted our remit of small, interesting and locally owned. It included a Hotel run by women - featured in The Guardian shortly before we went. Really excellent. David was very tolerant of us tweaking his original itinerary and gave advice where he thought we needed to make changes.
Having local contacts in the country really reassured us. When flights were cancelled due to the war, David and then Daisy kept in touch and reassured us about our travel options. Ahead of others, they organised a flight route home and we actually enjoyed the extension to the trip (via Singapire and China). Can't recommend them enough and will most definitely use again.

Rickshaw worked with us....4 friends.... to produce an amazing itinerary in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. They arranged our flights and wonderful accommodation at a very reasonable cost. We also felt that no query was ever too much trouble for them. However they excelled when our flights home were cancelled because of the conflict in the Middle East. The staff at Rickshaw worked very hard to secure our passage home...we were only delayed by 3 days...and within 3 days of our return we had received payment for the extra hotel accommodation. Just superb! Thank you to all the staff team .

Excellent communication which helped us choose our itinerary. The booking process couldn’t have been easier. Great range of bite sized tours and first rate organised arrangements at every point. The whole experience ran like clockwork.

A really fantastic travel company. They offer an excellent range of really interesting and well-curated holidays across the world, coupled with a really great ethos - and at sensible prices. Their staff are helpful, knowledgeable and the booking experience is easy. The local agents they engage with always seem to be excellent, easy to contact and responsive if you need them and the local guides are always brilliant and lovely people. We've been on several holidays with them - to Costa Rica, Mexico and most recently to Thailand - and every trip has been amazing. Truly memorable experiences. We love the way they seem more engaged with the local community than other companies, that you tend to stay in smaller, locally owned and generally more quirky and interesting hotels. Every holiday feels like an adventure. We look forward to many more holidays with Rickshaw in the future!

We had a brilliant 18 days in Vietnam, put together by Annabelle of Rickshaw travel in discussion with us. We spent time in Ho Chi Minh City (still Saigon to the locals), the Mekong delta, Hoi An, overnight sleeper to Ninh Binh, Hanoi and a night on Lan Ha bay (less touristy than Ha Long). In terms of planning and execution, we were particularly impressed with how Annabelle put together our trip. When we were in country, their local agent 'Asian Trails' was quite superb - both proactive and reactive with reps in Saigon, Da Nang and Hanoi to cater for us as we moved north. Their guides were interesting, caring yet not intrusive e.g. they were aware that their charges valued comfort breaks on the vehicle journeys and did not need prompting! Their selection of hotels for us was perfect, both comfortable, definitely Vietnamese (no international chains) and precisely at the level we had asked for. One element, however, we would do differently was the Homestay in the Mekong Delta. I had in mind staying with a family. In the event, we were the only guests in what was more like a largish guest house and there were no hosts in evidence. Our meals were in another part of the complex. Overall though, this was a miniscule blip! Otherwise, every visit and activity, e.g. the cooking class was great and if I had to identify a particular highlight, it would be the evening Vespa food tour in HCMC. We will definitely speak to Rickshaw Travel next time we travel.

We spent two weeks in Southern India with Rickshaw in February. This was our second time travelling with them after an amazing trip to Indonesia in March 2025. As we hoped, this one didn’t disappoint either.

From the moment you get in contact, you are contacted by a travel expert for the region you’re interested in. From this point on you feel at ease knowing that they have seen these places for real, and they can really recommend places to stay, activities etc that are tailored to your personal requirements, whether that based on interest, physicality , a relaxed pace or whatever. All the way through you are given choices and information to make informed decisions about flights, departure times, climate etc , but with no pressure to get it booked. They really take the time to ensure the trip is perfect for you before you commit, and if it’s not, they will tweak it again until it is !

Once you are there, you always feel that Rickshaw, and more importantly their local travel partners are there at the end of a WhatsApp message to clarify pickup times, alter schedules to suit where possible to give you the flexibility to enjoy your trip your way.
As always even the basic level of accommodation package gives you some amazing places to stay. If you want to keep it simple you can, but safe in the knowledge it will always be clean, safe and comfortable. Some of the places we stayed were breathtakingly beautiful and we wouldn’t have chosen anywhere different anyway !

David was our travel expert for this trip , and in true Rickshaw style he was friendly, helpful, patient and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the trip and took great care to ensure it was what we wanted. Big thanks to David for such a lovely trip..
Big decision now is where to next…but the decision as to who we will travel with will be a very easy one.

I’ve been on a group tour to Peru previously, but wanted to do a few different things this time. Ceri helped us arrange a bespoke holiday fitting in lots of different places and activities. It took a fair bit of planning, but she worked through all our requests tirelessly to come up with the holiday we hoped for. It’s good to deal with someone with good local knowledge.

Great communication, happy to adapt our tour to suit us. Fully informed each stage of the multi centre tour of Cambodia and Vietnam. The guides used were informative and very helpful at each stage, enabling a great holiday event.

We returned recently from a two and a half week trip to Vietnam organised very efficiently through Annabelle who contacted us regularly and listened to all our needs. We had an amazing time. All the local guides contacted us as soon as we reached their area. We were always contacted on time for our trips and taxi transfers. The guides were excellent especially Man, who took us on the trip to Halong Bay, Nathan, who was our food tour guide in Hanoi and Sang who took us on a bike tour to the rural villages outside Hue. Gina, who was the overall coordinator in Vietnam was also always on hand and extremely helpful. For us Rickshaw helped us to travel independently but with all the safety nets and back ups of local experience and taking the stress out of organising our own trips and transfers. The hotels were all of a very high standard. The Vin Hung Riverside Resort and Spa in Hoi An was really lovely and TheMango Bay resort in Phu Quoc was superb. We would definitely use Rickshaw Travel again and recommend to others.

We had a 4 week trip to South America organised by Ceri at Rickshaw. All the details of the trip worked perfectly from flights, to airport pick up, bus tickets, guides, organised group tours and accommodation. The companies on the ground that delivered the parts of the trip were great and update information was sent by WhatsApp regularly which we found very useful.

Great trip, amazing experiences and people. The organisation of all aspects of the trip were seamless.

Ceri has been so wonderful helping us plan our future travels to Peru. Planning and designing a travel plan to fit my family of four was a daunting challenge but Ceri was very so patient and supportive. She has provided us with a clear, detailed and adaptive plan which is we’re all very happy with. Thanks Ceri🙏🏼
