RCVS CRIMINAL LOW

All this stupid criminal organisation

It is a legal requirement that in order to dispense prescription flea and worming treatments, your pet must have had a check-up with one of our Veterinary Surgeons within the past 12 months.

I can’t buy the treatments now because I have to pay 67£ each to be check by vet they don’t do nothing specific put the dogs on the scale and check how they breathe.
This can be done for free or outside the reception. You still have to pay for the treatment.
Unfortunately this kind people who decided the low don’t want to help the animals it’s all about the money .. we still have booster to check up the dogs not enough?? The same with the microchip you can’t own the dog if you don’t have it they force the people like stupid Covid . The people have to stop paying for this check up then will see how they will sale the treatment.
We can still buy the treatment at some shelves for free whit out prescriptions strange how different brands 🙄 but they don’t have the same effect I did try ! People wake up !!

RCVS? Waste of time.

After a procedure my dog ended up with spastic Entropion. Never warned there my be any complications despite it being a known issue. Had I known the procedure would not have gone ahead. Like many others I sent in my complaint which was duly written off.
To succeed at court I needed an expert vet witness but all the witnesses are vets. Contacted 8 who claimed to provide court statements. Only two bothered to reply with the first 'too busy' and the second 'I don't do dogs'. So the case was thrown out. The saving grace was the judge decided the price rise from the quote - up to £415 - which then became £594 in invoices was wrong so I won the counterclaim.
The Competition and Markets Authority is shortly to launch its investigation into the veterinary business, and the RCVS, as just 6 companies own most vet practices. This cannot come soon enough. In my final bill, 3 tablets cost £77 - online available for £26. Paracetamol was £20 but in Tesco just 60 pence for another customer.
Just like doctors, police etc, this profession protects its own at all costs.

Cover up, negligence and no regard for animals!!

I sent in a complaint with evidence showing that my foster rabbit had died under very questionable circumstances whilst being neutered. All info provided to the RCVS, they didn’t care about me or the animal. Only to protect their ‘vets’. Took a year for them to say they won’t be taking any action, an independent vet reviewed the case and she found massive holes of negligence, misconduct , wrong meds used, and not to mention the fact the vet called the police when I asked about the circumstances. In my eyes they decided more to protect their so called vets as they deemed the rabbit to be unwanted in rescue.

They are literally letting people get away with murder. They are an utter disgrace, and consumers who experience vet negligence need to be warned. The RCVS are not fit for purpose.

Utter cover up and waste of time

Utter cover up and waste of time! This organisation is not fit for purpose! Only interested in covering up misconduct of Vets, they have no interest whatsoever in the care of our beautiful pets. They should close the RCVS quicker the better, useless organisation.

Total waste of time

Total waste of time. We had clear evidence of misconduct by our vets which lead to the death of our little dog.
The vets were evasive and abusive, they told us to raise a case with the RCVS knowing it would go know where.
RCVS only care for the vets and are not a caring impartial body. They need to be abolished.

I turned to the RCVS after the vet i…

I turned to the RCVS after the vet i went to for help with my cat. The vet took one look and said euthanize him without checking anything, his vitals, nothing. She was a young vet at OOH . I started to cry, begged her for help , she walked out of the room , saying a racist remark about me. I was shocked. She came back in, injected 50 ml saline in to him, made him SCREAM and threatened me if i didnt get him euthanized immediately. By the time my own vet saw him, it was too late. My vet gently and with empathy, helped me to help him pass over, I went to CAB to complain. They said i could open a complaint with the vet, as long as the vet agreed. The vet refused to discuss it. End of help from
CAB ! Then I tried the practice manager, the owners, VetPartners, no one was interested. In fact, they barred me from ever returning because i complained. . I was told of RCVS, that i could complain to them. I was passed to their solicitor . She listened . I explained everything. She was very sympathetic but then she said she was sorry but their vets needed support. She said there was nothing the RCVS could do. The only "ombudsmen" the vet industry has is RCVS but they immediately sided with their "poor overworked vets". They refused to look in to my case. The RCVS is a waste of time.

Poor response!

Told them about a problem with a registration and their response was it’s not in their remit!
Absolute waste of time dealing with RCVS they’re only interested in the vets and not the poor animals!
So don’t bother complaining to them as it’s a complete waste of time!

Terrible Experience with the RCVS complaints procedure

My Yorkshire terrier Holly suffered an awful and preventable death with a independent veterinary practice.

Over a two week period there were failures to give the right treatment, failure to refer to a better equipped vet practice, missing medical charts and records, failure to keep Holly at the practice, failure to administer correct and appropriate medication along with an awful episode of overdosing her. Holly died from peritonitis - an awful awful death. They wouldn’t keep her in so we had to take her to the vets daily then nurse her 24 hours a day.

The practise owner asked for a meeting a week after she was PTS and then proceeded to shout at us because she was upset.

I went to the RCVS to raise a complaint about it all and started the complaints procedure.

What unfolded took almost 18 months of my life, I had to read complete untruths from the vets involved and the RVCS gave me deadlines to adhere to because they “worry about the vets mental health”.
No thought to mine or my families.
I got to stage 2 and only advice was given to the vets. Such as communicate with clients and keep better notes.

I appealed because I couldn’t believe that so many codes of conduct could be broken and proved.
They upheld the appeal and I could do no more via this very one sided RCVS process.

During the process the RCVS actually broke a legal timeframe for a subject access request - and they didn’t file my appeal for 4 months despite confirming they had it. Via internal emails they stated “we better let the vets know, they will think they are out of the woods”.

Once you delve into how all this is run - you can clearly see that no one ever gets a serious or worthy result using the RCVS complaints procedure. The people you have to communicate with are there to protect the vets. It doesn’t matter what the truth is.

You are left with a massive sense of injustice and the mental toll it took on me was huge.

This can not continue to be run in this way. You need an impartial complaints procedure and there needs to be proper sanctions and checks on vets who are falling below standard.

No compassion for pets, just their vets

At Christmas 2020 my 5 year old dog was taken from me as a result of total neglect from Vets Now. He had never been sick in his short life until 19/12/20. Of course I complained to RSVC but myself and thousands of others know they support their vets and not our pets. Despite showing evidence of my dog being left on the floor with blood coming from his mouth, lying in his own urine and hallucinating. Seeing your dog in that position will never leave your mind. Plus every Christmas, I can only now relive this nightmare. RCVS don't care, as long as they cover their own. Note date area doesn't go back to 19/12/2020 so entered today's date

Utter disgrace.

This is the regulatory body for vet professionals, it is not a vet practice. The RCVS have an abominable complaints system which basically is corrupt and criminal in nature. Anyone who submits a complaint of vet negligence gets nowhere, because the RCVS protect negligent vets. It is utterly appalling. They use Serious Professional Misconduct as a benchmark for whether a vet is guilty or not. Nowhere will you find any definition of this term, or any form of criteria which explains their so called 'standards'. Vet negligence cases are thrown out like rubbish. The RCVS go on about acting in the public interest, yet I know of not one vet negligence case which has been upheld from any member of the general, pet owning public. They are an utter disgrace, and consumers who experience vet negligence need to be warned. The RCVS are not fit for purpose.

Not fit for purpose!

Our dogs were overdosed by Vets4Pets Pitsea in December 2022. Their hospital sheets were found to be empty, one of our dogs respiratory rates was recorded as 76 the night before she passed (it should be between 10 & 35) yet no action was taken, one if our dogs was stone cold and rigid when I saw her, but she’d (apparently?) only passed away 20 mins previously and they were not monitored properly at all while at this vets. There’s loads more happened too, I could write another page! We have been lied to and treated abysmally by the vets and some of their heads, even though one head admitted, “your dogs should not have died” and “they were let down by many that night, not just one”. In one initial meeting the vets actually refused to answer any questions, asked what we wanted (!) even though they were told we had loads of questions, but instead were just callous with us! It was harrowing. They said the “vets are responsible for themselves”. We were then offered money at later meetings if we signed a NDA and “drew a line under things”. We refused.

Despite all of this the RCVS say that all of this either “doesn’t fall under their remit”, or is not what they deem as serious professional misconduct!??
Despite all of the compelling evidence!

It’s worrying that their definitions and interpretations of professional misconduct are different to that of other human beings and that of the Oxford Dictionary too, and their lack of interest to investigate what is pure neglect!

We were warned they usually refuse to investigate things passed stage (PIC) 1, and exactly that happened.
In my opinion they are not fit for purpose (how can they be??) they are for some reason not investigating many cases properly, so are putting pets in danger! We need an unbiased independent regulator and we need them now!

We have been thoroughly misled by these people at the RCVS. We already have been to hell and back through what happened to our dogs, then to have to deal this with on top has almost broken us. I’ve been so ill through stress, I haven’t been able to work at times and am now under the hospital for things we think are possibly stress related through all of this too. My family have suffered too because of this whole situation - it’s just awful!

No one should suffer like we have nor should their pets be treated they way ours were!
I would not be able to work for a company such as this, nor such an uncaring and negligent vets, who are most definitely guilty of professional misconduct!

Here’s our story and there’s a petition on Change to protect our pets too! Thanks

Awful place please avoid !!!!!

Awful vets ! Please avoid this place in the event of an emergency I brought my 14 month old cocker spaniel here early hours to be sent home with a critically unwell dog as they said he wasn’t an emergency case even though he had a huge mass on his shoulder and was clearly in pain I had to take him to my own vets yesterday morning and was advised to put him to sleep he was gasping for air and needed oxygen was just laying there suffering it was heartbreaking I’m absolutely devastated the queen mother hospital were so hostile showed very little compassion or concern for simba and we’re more concerned about how the bill would be paid ! Awful place these are not animal people if they had admitted him maybe he would still be here ! I’ll never bring another animal here again ! Horrible people hope they lose someone they love and suffer horribly ! I’ll be preying for that !

Bunch of crooks

Bunch of crooks, liars and time wasters. Please read the website 'vetlife' before you make a complaint to the rcvs and you will see how they allow the Vets to literally get away with murder. They completely wasted my time. They actively encouraged me to make a complaint and gave me a complaint number only to say at the end the Vet did nothing wrong. he breached several codes of their code of conduct but that's okay apparently.

Rude receptionist will not accept mistake

Needed some flea treatment for my two dogs.
They never answer the phone so have to wait for a call back.
Five days later after I called numerous times to remind them I finally got a message to collect.
My friend collected for me as I wasn't well which was a shame as I could have mentioned they had given me too many box's then and there and that the invoice was wrong .
The cost was £ 146 !!!
They had given me three box's instead of two .
I tried to request a refund and was told no way by a very rude abrupt receptionist it was not their policy to take back medication , she had the cheek to say I should have collected the items myself!

"There was a breakdown in communication" hence too many box's and over charged ... not on my part!

She would not let me get a word in, I persisted and had to speak over her rudeness. she said she would call me back after speaking to her manager Monday after I insisted .
I won't hold my breath !
This medication on line is £16 .
Rip off vets
I'm upset by the way I was treated when this was their mistake and tried to say I had miscommunicated!! they know I have two dogs why give and overcharge me for three .
No courtesy at all .
Very disappointed and will go there Monday to show the invoice is wrong and try to get at least one box refunded .
