Kolorbond Original This coating product has been developed specifically for use on PVCu plastic and powder-coated surfaces, such as windows, doors, cladding, and conservatories. It is ideal for both new projects and refurbishment work, offering a durable and long-lasting finish that protects against the elements. With its chemical bonding properties, the product adheres firmly to the surface, providing a robust solution for exterior and interior use. Applications and Uses This product can be applied to a wide range of surfaces, primarily designed for PVCu plastic but also effective on powder-coated metals. Its high level of adhesion makes it suitable for both domestic and commercial settings, ensuring that surfaces exposed to sunlight and harsh weather conditions maintain their aesthetic appeal over time. Recommended uses include windows, doors, cladding, and conservatories. For best results, application should be performed by professionals using suitable equipment, as outlined in the technical data sheet. Performance and Durability Thanks to its UV protection and weather-resistant properties, the product provides a long-lasting finish that retains its colour and gloss level for years. The coating chemically bonds with the substrate, ensuring strong adhesion and a surface that resists chipping, flaking, or peeling. Whether applied to new or existing surfaces, it helps to revitalise worn or faded materials, giving them a fresh, vibrant appearance. Proper curing and post-curing processes are essential to achieve the best performance. Application Instructions Application can be done using HVLP spray guns, with specific adjustments depending on whether it’s an interior or exterior job. Proper cleaning of equipment is essential to maintain consistency in results, and a suitable cleaning solvent should be used after each application. Ensure surfaces are properly prepared and cleaned before application to guarantee optimal adhesion. Always follow the recommended application guidelines provided in the technical data sheet to avoid potential issues such as poor bonding or surface inconsistencies. Storage and Safety Store the product in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid exposure to temperatures above 50°C, and ensure containers are tightly sealed when not in use. This product is highly flammable, so it’s important to keep it away from ignition sources. Use explosion-proof equipment when handling and applying the product. Always wear appropriate protective clothing, including gloves, masks, and eye protection, to avoid exposure to harmful vapours and skin contact. Refer to the safety data sheet for more detailed information on safety precautions and proper handling. Restrictions and Limitations Do not apply this product to surfaces that are not made from PVCu plastic or powder-coated materials. It is not recommended for use on untreated metals, wood, or glass. Avoid applying the product in extremely humid or wet conditions, as this can affect the bonding process and overall finish. For optimal results, follow the curing times and environmental conditions detailed in the technical data sheet. Recommended Products For surfaces that require additional preparation before coating, we recommend using suitable primers or cleaning agents compatible with the product. These will enhance adhesion and extend the longevity of the coating. Always check the technical data sheet for recommendations on primers or complementary products that can further improve performance.
