Awesome flute. Customer service is hard to reach.

9I ordered the Legend Copper Flute on January 7th. After about five days, I emailed Eric to ask when I should expect to receive it, but I didn’t hear back. I sent another email later, mentioning that I was leaving for a cruise soon.

I saw some reviews that scared me a bit, and I started to worry that I had made a mistake ordering from Raum Music.

Just yesterday (January 20th), I got an email notification that it was being shipped via next-day air. I received it today, and I’m actually very happy with this flute. Eric emailed me back to tell me he shipped it next-day air to make sure I could enjoy it on my cruise.

I’m a seasoned musician, so getting a nice sound out of it wasn’t difficult. It’s a very unique instrument!

Doesn't send your order, doesn't respond to communications

Order 1640 of Copper Flute Triune for $570.70 on July 1st 2025, shipping label created August 29th 2025. No movement since, multiple emails sent with zero response. Gave Eric the benefit of the doubt of being a professional and this having been a preorder, but the lack of response to this is not acceptable. Don't just take someone's money and not give them their ordered product and not respond to their messages about where their order is. How would you like that experience if someone did that to you? Please respond to the numerous inquiries made and either refund the purchase or actually send the flute out immediately.

Order #1640 I ordered back in July

Order #1640 I ordered back in July, got a shipping label made notification on August 29th...it is now December 4th with no movement. I emailed multiple times asking about my order and zero response. I am resorting to publicly tagging you and commenting on your TikTok profile hoping to hear from you and get my flute shipped already. I just want my flute.

Does not respond to any emails.

He literally will NOT respond to ANY email. I'm not exaggerating a single bit. Customer services does not exist in this business. The only time he DID respond, was when I left a comment on his IG/FB post, but of course he had to respond then because it was public and I called him our for not responding to my emails.

The product didn't ship for lke 3-4 weeks after ordering, and there was no one to let me know about the delay. Seemed like a scam.

The product finally did come in. Doesnt sound like it does online, obviously, you need some training to know how to play it, but that's how companies like this get you, they post videos of them playing it at an expert level, so you think it'll sound like that when you get it. Not the case. It does sound nice though and better than those cheap plastic drone flutes.

Service provision is hopeless

Flute construction 5 stars - He likes to sell - Getting in touch is hopeless - Service provision is hopeless. Do not buy here, he is a smooth salesman who does not care about Service. I have been busy for more than a year and a half for service parts. He posts new videos, but answering questions and providing service is not in Eric Raum's dictionary. September 15, 2025, a wonderful response from Eric Raum. He's a great spinner, trying to present himself in a positive light. With a great imagination, you might still get somewhere, Eric Raum. I wish all potential clients the best of luck.

Eric is a talented musician and I was happy to see him playing the Copper Flute. He contacted me about a year after buying his flute asking for a backup part. I told him I didn't have these available as a stand-alone purchase, but I could make an extra one for him for free, as he had always been a solid member of the flute community.

I did warn him that I am already maxed out as a single person building everything, but I would fit it in to my workshop and give him this as my gift to him.

It looks like the timeline did not work for him, as instead of waiting for the gift, I was quite startled to see his very negative review here instead. Very sad to see. I wish him the best.

Eric Raum Copper Flutes Defects

ATENTION . Expensive and Poor quality musically speaking. Just nice design, I bought two flutes 7 months ago for €1300 and Eric doesn't tell the truth in his videos. If you look at it, just marketing and a lot of recording studio for his videos and great sound.
Very Difficult flute because are very unstable in sound and the mouthpiece becomes saturated with water and changes its sound in just 1 minute of practicing. In 750 € flute You have to put a lot of plumber Teflon on the mouthpieces every time you have to do dry water or clean so that they don't lose air (a bungle ) a mouthpiece is bad quality plastic and was broke for that reason and when I complained to Erik about the problems with the flutes he said he would send a piece and 4 months later he still didn't keep his word, after 4 months I claimed again well but telling him is not that he say will send and never send .Finally he got offended and blocked me the account and does not provide after-sales service for Flutes. He say is very busy but doing videos for social network every day 🤔 🥴 . For more information about defects I can send you videos and photos .
Especially the low C that I received is totally defective in the tuning and its poor quality plastic mouthpiece, with plumber's Teflon so that it does not lose air until the plastic breaks because it is a botch job and for the modest price of €750. It is an insult to those who have well-made flutes from authentic luthiers. Professional musicians have tested mine before writing this review and I gave Eric the opportunity to resolve it but he became proud and arrogant because he does not accept me telling him that some of his flutes may have defects and he decided not to provide me with after-sales service. . Very unprofessional and disrespectful.

Sigh... This is one of those situations where the guy heard "the customer is always right" and ran with it.

Seven months after buying two flutes, Angel messaged me an abusive diatribe about how my instruments were horrible and I should give him a full refund. Having had them for the last seven months, I asked for more details...

As it turned out, he had only tried to play once, seven months ago. His tone was quite forceful, demanding and rude, but some people are, so I dug in and asked for more information, eventually requesting a video of his playing so I could personally help more.

He did seem to appreciate this, and I didn't hear from him again for a while after thanking me for the video.

Then, he reappeared with more rude messages again about how everything I've made is bad, etc, because this time he had broken something. This is not a common piece to break, and being a one-man custom shop, it isn't something I have extras of laying around.

Still, I told him I would make him one (for free), but it would need to be worked into the existing schedule.

What followed was a barrage of extremely graphic, hate-filled messages directed at me personally. That’s where I drew a hard line: I ended direct DMs.

Where I stand is simple: I’m not a corporation. It’s just me at a bench, making instruments to bring peace and beauty into the world. I will always make things right when the issue is on me, and I’ll always treat people with respect.

I have a thick skin and can understand frustration, but when it comes to intentional abuse, I draw the line.
