Dubious
Dubious.
Firstly, everything depends on the driver and the workers.
Twice a worker came to us - helped and offered solutions on how best to deliver.
Today, the driver with the pump arrived first, waiting a whole hour for the driver with the concrete. When the other team arrived, unlike the first: the driver of the concrete car was in a terrible mood and literally said, "sh** job" and refused to deliver concrete. He started indicating to the other driver that he wouldn't deliver concrete, was nervous, and it was clear they had just come to cancel the order to find a reason for a cancellation charge. They ended up billing us £600 for cancellation, which they themselves made up.
I must add, the previous team worked under the same conditions, and even worse, and found all possible solutions for concrete delivery. This time, the delivery conditions were much better, but they refused to deliver through the stairs, starting to look for reasons. Probably, he came empty-handed and without concrete just to make an unfair cancellation charge. (I needed to deliver to the roof of the extension (photo attached).
I offered options to lay the pipe through the stairs from both sides, as desired (photo also attached). He simply refused, although his task with the concrete was to stand near the computer and regulate its quality. We called additional workers for concrete work.
I believe it would be reasonable to show that in the past, we did the same work with the same level and without problems. I have all the photos attached for objectivity.
In the email from Rapid Ready Mix to us, it was stated that allegedly health and safety regulations were not being followed in our house (stairs without sides), and therefore they refuse to supply concrete and are not refunding the money. In the end, we got our money back, but at the end of the phone call, they accused us of racism. We were surprised and shocked - it’s easy to baselessly accuse someone of racism when there are no arguments and they simply want to get money without providing the service.
And suddenly, two weeks later, a government health and safety inspection arrived at the construction site. Everyone understood where the problem was coming from. The context of the complaint became clear. (By the way, no problems were found in the house).
We were clearly told who filed the complaint.
Take care of your nerves!
