I wish I could give a minus review
I wish I could give a minus review. This company hooks you in by advertising a competition on ITV. The competition promises big prizes and it is so easy a small child could do it. I rang the number on the TV and soon got a call from a very "lovey dovey" woman who said I might have won an even bigger prize than £10k but I needed to pay £1.94 for postage. I gave my credit card details and there then followed 4 debits of £19.95 over a few weeks. Apparently I agreed to Ts and cs when they asked for the postal £1.94. I am a pensioner and I don't even do puzzles and their puzzle books went straight in the bin. This company is a disgrace. I advised that if they don't refund all my payments I will get in touch with advertising standards and ITV who shouldn't be allowing them footage as they are deceitful liars. In the end I had to cancel my credit card. They have agreed to a refund but say they did nothing wrong as they asked me to agree to Ts and Cs. Beware this company they are dishonest and not at all transparent. As for the £10k I may have won??
Puzzle play is a complete scam
Puzzle play is a complete scam , I rang them up, they said just pay , 1.99 for postage to send puzzles books off , which I did , a few weeks later , 19.99 out of my account , when I rang them they said when I rang them I agreed to a subscription , never did , don’t give them any bank details, I had to get my bank to block any payments ,
This despicable company who prey on the…
This despicable company who prey on the elderly and vulnerable…..very sweet phone calls calling my 86 year old Mum darling throughout the call until she gave them her bank details they already tried taking £1.95 plus another £1 from her bank account….luckily as my Mams power of attorney I’ve been able to contact the bank and have her card blocked so no further payments are taken. Telling my Mam she’s now entered into a draw for a chance to win £11,500 which she fell for. I spoke to them initially very friendly calling me darling too, I quickly told them I’m not her darling ! Wouldn’t allow me to cancel my Mams subscription without speaking to my Mam. Handed the phone over and unbelievably she convinced my Mams not to cancel saying darling this and darling that ! They really do prey on elderly people absolutely appalled by the behaviour of these people! Mams card blocked now so no further payment can be made, we have call blocker on my Mams land line so such calls are blocked 🚫 now the ring her mobile number so need to block them from that today too because my Mams falls for their kind voices every time, I’m so angry that they do this to such people
Puzzle tv wordsearch competition
I entered this competition recently , I get the call to say I'm through to next round , in mean time I could have free lotto tickets ect and a puzzle book , you pay for postage, I told her my concerns and she said it wouldn't have been on tv if it was a scam ect , she sounded very convincing, then she went through terms and conditions and very faintly so you could hardly hear the monthly payment was mentioned, when I said I'm not giving my bank details she put the phone down. Thank God I followed my gut instinct
Total scam and attempted theft!!!
Total scam - thieves and damn right fraud!! I entered a tv Wordsearch comp , I received a call saying I had the correct answer and they was sending me an puzzle pack etc and needed £1.95 postage - they sent me a pack which was fair enough - then two weeks later they was trying to take £19.95 from my bank account !!! Saying I had subscribed - this I had NOT done!! Lucky for me I used an old bank account to send the original £1.95 for postage, same bank they are trying to steal money from - good luck on that as I do not use it :) two times they have tried stealing money! Shows on bank statement as Wordsearch winner. I have reported them to trading standards and other companies to try get them closed - I suggest more people do this! ITV I’m also informing as they run their ads! The pack they send out says subscription is £12.95 if you want to subscribe, so why are pthey trying to get £19.95 from you ? They will never get a penny from me and there stupid packs they keep sending make excellent bbq fire starters - stay away from this company as complete scam and fraudsters!!
Please report these thieves / con artists to trading standards!!!

I’ve just been contacted by Puzzles & Prizes having entered a competition advertised on ITV. She was really stroppy with me when I said I wasn’t comfortable with sharing my bank details. She wanted me to pay postage on a freebie package she was sending me. I declined and she said of course it’s legitimate, it wouldn’t be on national television if it wasn’t. I stuck to my instinct and said to call me back later, to buy me some thinking time, which she wasn’t happy about. She abruptly ended the call. Rude! A scam!
Scamming a person with Dementia…
Taking money out of my wifes bank account when she has Dementia :-(
Scamming the vulnerable is the lowest of the low in my book, SHAME ON YOUR COMPANY!!
Puzzleplayonline/Wordsearch winner.
This company is a scam - like so many others I responded to a TV add for Wordsearch Winner and paid £1.95 postage for the introductory booklet and, like many others who have sent reviews, I found 2 charges on my bank statement for £19.95 for fortnightly booklets which I did not agree to and had no conversation with them about. I cancelled my debit card for a new one but the bank automatically transferred the listed payment to my new card as well!!
Trying to contact this company for a refund - they use both names.

I was contacted to say I was in the prize draw & agreed to pay £1.95 for postage fee I was not told I had subscribed I would not have signed up to a monthly payment of £19.95 two payments of this amount has been taken from my bank account without my permission.
I have tried to contact someone from puzzles & prizes galore but no response as of yet.
Can someone help me get my money back as I fee I have been conned.
I will be taking this further if no action is taken
Deceptive Marketing and Unauthorised Charges – Avoid at All Costs
Inentered a free online competition via ITV, after which I received a call offering a “free” puzzle pack, magazine, lottery tickets, and raffle entries — supposedly with only a £1.95 postage fee. I explicitly asked the caller if this was a one-off charge, as I did not want to commit to any subscription or ongoing payments. She assured me it was a single payment just to cover postage.
However, shortly after receiving the first pack, more began arriving — and I discovered I had been charged £19.99 three times without my consent. It quickly became clear this was a recurring subscription, something I was never informed of.
Upon further research, I found many others had experienced the same issue, with poor reviews across platforms like Trustpilot. I’ve since contacted my bank to dispute the charges and block further payments.
It’s extremely disappointing that ITV appears to be linked to such misleading practices. The people on the phone are highly trained to sound legitimate, but this is a clear case of deceptive marketing.
I strongly advise others to steer clear of this offer
Don’t go there
They asked me to just pay for the postage cost for some puzzles to be sent
The next minute you’re a member and they start talking a monthly subscription which I didn’t ok
So be careful
Got my booklet today
Got my booklet today, so fair play. I thought it was a scam at first, but they would never lie and managed to get a booklet today. Sorry for doubting you wrong!
Appreciation Review
This is not a review exactly, I just wanted to send out a big thank you to all those that did post a review about their experiences with this company and warn us how it is all a scam. I was literally on the phone to them and they asked me to pay the postage fee but I was uncomfortable sharing my card details. While she was still on the phone, I looked them up online and saw the Trustpilot reviews come up and I actually read them out to her so she could hear what people have fed back about them. Lets just say she didn't seem surprised! I obviously said then that I would not be sharing my card details and not to worry about the 'prize bundle'. She promptly left the conversation and hung up! THANK YOU again to all the reviewers - you saved me from this scam! Always check what you can before signing up to anything.
This company is an absolute scam
This company is an absolute scam! I entered their tv competition and someone rang me within the week and said I had the answer right and put me through to the next round and then said I won an extra bonus of magazines and tickets and would need me to pay the £1.95 royal mail charge so me being gullable I did. I then had a bad feeling and cancelled my debit card I gave them and rang the bank and blocked any more money coming out to them. I rang puzzle play online customer service to confirm it was them who rang and took the £1.95 out which she confirmed it was their sales team and that they had signed me up to a monthly subscription that I didn't agree too! Do not give them your debit details and if you have cancel the card and ring your bank to block any future payments as they will take a monthly subscription fee out!! Absolutely disgusting!! They can shove their magazines and tickets where the sun doesn't shine!
This company is a scam they are very…
This company is a scam they are very sneaky and crafty.
And they draw you in by using their tv advert on itv as conformation as too how trustworthy they are.
So I signed up to puzzleplayonline but never recieved anything, so when they took £19.95 from my account, on 20/02/2025
I then tried to cancel my subscription, but strangely they couldn't find me on there system as a subscriber.
I then went to my bank and filled out the relevant paperwork to have future payments stopped immediately, the bank confirmed this to be successful and I was pleased,
However today on the 6/3/2025 I have noticed a pending transaction for £19.95 this time the company name is wordsearch winner.
It's a bloody con I imagine when I get the bank to also stop this payment and this time be refunded, I expect next month they will use another alias to extract another £19.95, I'll have to see how the bank deals with it.
You are theirs and von artists using my details to make illegal WITHDRAWALS using different names.
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED
Preying on vulnerable people with…
Preying on vulnerable people with mental health issues like my friend. He spoke to her on phone and tried cancelling but this still hasn't happened. She was trying to goad him about having a gambling problem. He is now very anxious and whatever goes into hisbank account they take it.No refund given and still not cancelled.
Would give a 'no star' if I could
Would give s no star if I could sbdolute scam - reallly surprised they advertise and solicit through daytime TV!! Had 2 lots of 21 pounds charged to my credit card in a month after giving my drtsils for postage only for a puzzle pack. Thankfully my bank refunded the payments. Good luck with cancelling once they have lured you in.
If it is too good to be true then it is!
I did complete the Word Search after seeing it on a TV Ad but the way you are reminded to get a call and and everything really suckers you in!
After receiving my phone call and giving them my card details for the P&P, something told me to check reviews online to find all of this.
I have already blocked my card just in case as I prefer to lose a few quid rather than a monthly sum.
Scam do not use!!
Scam do not use!!! Take money out of your bank!
