Fantastic gym at fair price.
This is a fantastic gym at a fair price, open 24hrs, providing fantastic equipment & good facilities. Some members spoil it for other by using padlocks 🔐 on the lockers forcing other considerate members that leave the lockers for others when they’re not at the gym to leave their personal stuff on the floor or hogging it around with them during workout. PureGym should put a stop to this.

We do our very best to ensure that our prices are affordable because we believe everyone should have the chance to experience the gym. We also know that everyone likes to workout at different times whether that be due to work commitments or due to personal preference so being open 24/7 means we can provide for everyone, anytime, anywhere!
With regards to using the lockers available within the gym, members can only store their belongings in lockers while using the gym. We ask that members only keep their stuff in the lockers for the duration of their visit. If belongings are left in them overnight, we will break the lock and put the contents into lost property. If you have any concerns regarding this, please speak to a member of the gym team directly and they will be happy to assist further. Thanks, PureGym
Offer codes never work
this is NOT a bad review for Basford gym but of Puregym itself.
I really wanted to come to this gym as it is the closest one to me. However i refuse to pay £10 joining fee.
So i went to Puregym Main site and it had a Zero joining fee offer, but this does not work for the Basford gym. In fact none of the Main site offers never work for the Basford Gym.
I have sent 2 emails to Puregym so called customer service weeks ago and never got a reply.

Todays code on Puregym's Main Website 50% off first month and no joining fee. Guess what! it does not work for the Basford Gym.

Like I’ve never been away
Like I’ve never been away! It’s been 2 years but saw some familiar faces this morning. Equipment looks shiny and new which was great to see. Busy gym but no problem doing my routine didn’t have to wait for anything.

Over priced
Poorly maintained equipment parts missing or falling off for the monthly cost you would expect better needs a lot of improvement

We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can so this can be investigated further. Thanks, PureGym
Value for money
It does exactly what it says on the tin - no frills!
What you'd expect, for what you are paying. A clean gym, with enough equipment to do what you need, when you need.
Always seems to be a shortage of sanitiser spray, so if you are a germaphobe... its probably not the place for you!

Cheap gym with cheap experience….
Been going to gym on and off for few years. Lately it’s been overcrowded to the point that sometimes there is queue to do a workout, hunting for weights etc. Since it’s cheap hence there are some hunks with absolutely no etiquettes. Weights left anywhere everywhere by some idiots. Worst of all sometimes there is no hand wash liquid or even toilet paper there….looking for another gym from next month….

Disappointed and VERY dirty/ untidy.
First time in this particular Pure Gym and it was VERY untidy and quite dirty. But, there were a wide range of machines and space to exercise with.
However, there were weights left all around the gym, left on machine as well as machines like the Air bike and benches left in the way of the weights making it difficult to use them or even the space around it.
There were a number of empty water bottles used tissues and blue roll left around the gym floor and on machines making it very uncomfortable to exercise in.
Unfortunately, I didn't see any cleaning stations or bins other than in the changing room.
The changing rooms smelt like a urinal and generally unclean with one of the doors off the cubical hanging on. - Could definitely use some basic hygeine attention!
Overall, the wide variety of equipment was good although they were very basic and could do with updating. But the biggest thing for me was the poor level of cleanliness that let it down drastically. Both members and staff could help improve this.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to address this. We fully understand the importance of cleaning supplies being made available and will be dealt with. Thanks, PureGym.

decent facilities
Quite good facilities, has improved quite a bit since i last used to go there. Easy access to get in but can be very packed and not very spacious around peak times.
