am writing in response to my recent complaint regarding being denied access to Cardiff Gate PureGym, and to PureGym subsequent reply.
I was extremely disappointed to receive a dismissive one-line response stating that I “do not have access to Cardiff Gate PureGym” and that I should “add it to my membership.” This is both inaccurate and unacceptable. I have been paying for a multi-access membership, which explicitly entitles me to use multiple gym locations, and I have accessed Cardiff Gate PureGym on several occasions in the past without any issue.
Without any prior notice or explanation, I was suddenly denied entry. This arbitrary restriction contradicts the terms of the membership I am paying for and reflects a lack of transparency and fairness. It suggests that access rights are being altered unilaterally, despite customers fulfilling their contractual obligations.
I expect a clear explanation for this change, immediate reinstatement of my access to Cardiff Gate PureGym, and assurance that such issues will not occur again.

Hi Adam. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. We offer various memberships; this includes various multi-access and PLUS memberships which, depending on which gyms you need access too, will vary in price. If you choose a Plus membership, you will have access to any gym that is at the same price or lower than your home gym.
From time-to-time, it is necessary that we increase membership fees which allows us to maintain the service, equipment and facilities in the gym. Members will always be notified 1 month in advance if your home gym is increasing their fees, however this is not currently applicable to all gyms you may have access to. However, you can view and alter this list of gyms on the 'Your Gym' section of your Member's Area to fit your needs.
If you are having issues accessing the gyms that are included in your current access list, you can press the 'Call for assistance' button at the gym door and a member of staff will be happy to help as soon as they are free to do so during staffed hours!
We can appreciate this can be frustrating and we apologise for any disruption this has caused to your workouts. If you would like to discuss your membership options further, please email our team at member.services@puregym.com and they'll be happy to assist with this! Thanks, PureGym.

Blue light offer used and happy with price. Plenty of easy parking. Gym is clean and there is enough stations and equipment.

I’ve joined, paid, downloaded the app, logged in with PIN, but when I try to book a class it says “join to book”. I DID JOIN!!!

Went to PureGym for years all over…
Went to PureGym for years all over Cardiff. Too crowded and spaces too small. They prioritise classes which restricts other who simply want to train freely, meaning when a class is on (which they are from morning until night) everyone is fighting for machines as there’s no free space. Left a went elsewhere.
PureGym is for new gym users (beginners) or older people, as you become more confident you’ll likely swap to a more professional gym that focus on what users really want rather than making money on classes.

Our gyms are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website, to see how many people are in the gym. The new equipment is nice but very off…
The new equipment is nice but very off putting that the machines are stacked very close together. A few people common on this, you are literally elbow to elbow. If this doesn’t change I won’t renew membership and I think you will lose other people as well. There is plenty of space, so unnecessary just terrible planning and layout

I love the Cardiff Gate Pure Gym its friendly, clean and everyone is helpful there. You can always find a machine or class to go to even in peak times. Good value for money.

Member of Pure Gum Cardiff Gate. Hygiene is not best. I have raised a few times and it simply does not get permanently addressed to have hand sanitizers for cleaning when leaving the gym. They have one bottle by exit door that is always empty. How difficult is it to keep it topped up or have more?
Also, the gym could do with some extra kits like leg extension machines and bicep curls. When you monitor gym usage and see these two machines always utilized, surely an investment would be better for the members than always having to wait for use.

Great joining experience
