I was recruited to sell term insurance last fall. The recruiter was a former colleague from the recent past. I set up the orientation video call and felt extremely hesitant due to the monthly fee that agents in training and those who've passed all tests and are licensed are required to pay indefinitely. In addition, the orientation felt rushed, inadequate, disappointing. Instead of going with my gut, I decided to join which helped my former colleague financially and rank wise.

Very early into the video call meetings (2X daily) it was solidified that I had signed on to an organization that I did not feel comfortable with. The videos shown during the video call training sessions were of Primerica agents emotionally expressing how much they are making as term insurance agents. These videos seemed to be of agents who were key speakers at a convention. Initially, I took to whom I assume was (is) a regional supervisor of sorts. Ms. Howard seemed very dedicated to her goal of remaining a top seller of term insurance. However, the meetings quickly turned into uncomfortable admonishments, meetings that lacked in training and critical thinking that can be applied to a sales approach. Ms. Howard exclaimed during a particular meeting that there is no excuse for single mothers in the group to be lacking in their sales and/or ability to schedule prospective members. This felt jarring, insulting and inappropriate. Ms. Howard should not have made such a statement as she is not privy to every agent's particular situation or limitations. At another time, Ms. Howard admonished the class by citing she was aware of people using their phone during the meeting and how that is a clear indication of not taking the training classes, seriously. The classes consisted of viewing videos of highly emotionally charged agents exclaim about how much money they have earned and going over the amount of money the agents present in training class had earned. I wasn't sure if Ms. Howard was speaking about me as I did need to look down at my phone which was off camera to retrieve information, momentarily. To reiterate, Ms. Howard was not aware of my specific situation, what I needed to handle and how my diverting my eyes for a moment can in no way disturb a night training session via video call that solely consisted of declarations regarding how much money others have earned and highly expressive declarations of one's life story.

As time drew nearer for my licensing exam, I reached out to Primerica and requested information for the $120 sign on fee even though I knew it was a shot in the dark. I received an email from Primerica exclaiming that I was not entitled to a refund. I responded with clarification regarding my never expressing that I was entitled to anything and that there is a difference between entitlement and an inquiry. I received what seemed to be an automated response. I felt perplexed by the response and the overall experience. I blocked the former colleague who recruited me and learned a lesson I should not have needed to. If something feels uncomfortable, there is a reason for it.

Primerica, please understand that changes need to be made in how you communicate and how you conduct your training classes.

Terrible service. If you find a positive review it is when the are "selling" you plans. Starting on May 28, 2025 I tried several times to contact my agent. It is June 17, 2025 and he has not responded to email or call. My 20 years of experience with Primerica shows me they care nothing about their customers. I would never recommend them.

Lynn Mannon. Shati will steal clients and gain policies behind your back from all the prospects that the lower line reps collect. Don't give any contacts, friends, family information or anyone. They encourage new reps to dump their phones in the system or on these accountability sheets, which is kept even after you leave the company. Shati calls your contacts and uses your name as a collateral to gain trust from your clients and talk them into getting policies When reported to Joe, he didn't do anything because he says she makes money for him. This continued behavior was reported to corporate as well, with no results of reprimand or held liable. If you and the company allow unethical behaviors, Insurance fraud, coercion and theft by taking; Everyone's license should be taken away.

I've had a relationship with Primerica for nearly 20years and have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them. I liked the service so much that I became a representative with the company and continue to be associated with them. The key to any experience is to be informed, do your own research and not allow yourself to be swayed by unnecessarily biased opinions. Nothing in life worth having or doing, comes easy.

Pyramid scheme! They are liars! Those positive reviews are from people who either know how this works or they are scam accounts! Thank god that some changes are making this trustpilot thing with Primerica or this Scamerica thing more transparent with us!

You guys, I’m talking the whole company and the recruiters, you are all wolf in sheep’s clothing!

TrustPilot, you really need to fix your fake reviews situation or a class action lawsuit will be filed against you someday. Mark my words!

The recruiters are highly manipulative, greedy, and deceiving. Utterly disgusting! They made lies about deleting my account, and tried to prevent me from deleting my account. Disgusting and horrendous people, service, and behavior!

I literally had to send over dozens of emails and text messages to Primerica workers to get my account cancelled. When that didn’t work, I had no choice but to cancel my debit card and get a new one along with changing every single thing about that new card. It was utterly stressful.

An incredibly embarrassing experience to live through in early 2025. My banker wasn’t happy with me on this. What even made it more traumatic for me was that I was a victim of a different kind of scam. Utterly shameful of myself!

Somehow I managed to get three letters of official confirmation that my Primerica account has been deleted.

These people really need to be investigated!

71 fake positive reviews. Work at Primerica if you want to pay thousands of dollars in chargebacks when you realize they are an MLM and try to leave. Have fun paying for everything that should be taken care of by the company you are working at. And if you actually make the mistake of working their enjoy working praying for leads that you will never get as the top "salesmen" (real term is scammers) get all of the leads to sell their ridiculous premium life insurance policies. $200+ for terrible get coverage? Get it here!

I bought into their MLM scheme as a salesman. It's the worst company I have ever purchased from. I had a Roth IRA setup through them and their product is so far behind compared to competitors, at least 20 years behind there is no online component to their product. You can't do anything online with your account, any action you want to take, you have to call. It looks like there is an online account but there is no functionality and key futures are disabled. This is widely inconvenient compared to competitors. They also take a management fee for doing no work, they just buy an ETF for you and that's it, they're not investing experts. Competitors have good online experiences, let you choose from self management, robo-investing, or auto reinvest. And (as expected) my sales rep was dragging their feet to get my money out by not answer phone calls and emails. Let me remind you, the only way to do something is by phone call. I don't know how this company is still afloat with an absolute predatory and embarrassment of a product and customer service.

Was called for an interview for a job opening. Interview was all about selling their own training program. Looked like a scam.

Great training and support! Much more support than previous traditional companies - was surprised and impressed!

I have been involved with and studying the insurance and financial services industry for over 7 years now.

I’ve been around the block. I’ve looked into the so called “real firms” or “name brand firms” and “the big guys” etc. No one is better and I can honestly and truly say that. Here’s my proof:

1. Primerica was voted the #1 most trusted company by investor business daily and top 3 most trusted companies by Forbes.

2. Primerica has created more six figure earners than any other company in North America (google it if you don’t believe me)

3. The industry is unfortunately pushing overpriced, low return permanent life insurance as an investment alternative. Even the most honest IUL agents can only manage an illustration of about 5.6% in good conscious - not much more than Whole life at about 4-5% - and keep in mind this is before fees and this is assuming the IUL policies won’t implode from cost of insurance eating away at the cash value. Would you rather average 9-10% returns in a Roth IRA (a real investment) or horse around with a goofy IUL for 5.6% that may not even survive? Primerica is one of the few companies who’s honest about the facts. You’ll have more than double the money in retirement buying term and investing the difference in a Roth IRA over a cash value policy.

3. Will “those other companies” personally come to your home and educate you about eliminating debt, help you retire and pay off your mortgage sooner, and for those who desire to, start a business for $99 that will cover over $1000 of licenses and training with the state?! (Ever read the book, the $100 start up?). The answer is no. And most of the times those “other companies” won’t work with you unless you have $50,000-$250,000 liquid cash to invest!

4. Negative reviews don’t reflect on the company itself. Unfortunately, where 1099 independent contractor opportunities exist, so do poorly trained agents who scared off their friends and family or tried recruiting too aggressively. This is typically for the following reasons:

A: They didn’t listen to their trainer and thought they knew better and then ruined their chances with their warm market because they thought they knew better.

B: Their trainer wasn’t good at all unfortunately. Bad first impression

C: Both A & B

Just because a few bad apples misrepresented the company’s doesn’t mean the company is actually bad. We’ve all had a bad customer service experience at a great company. That’s not the company’s fault. Even with proper training, rude people are rude unfortunately. Perception with bad agents is the cause of negative reviews - even though it’s the result of how good the agent is or is not. The company is good regardless and has the track record to prove it:

-publicly traded on the NY Stock Exchange, ticker: PRI

-A solid 40 year company that is the largest financial services organization in North America with NO TRADITIONAL MARKETING OR ADVERTISING.

-The #2 largest seller of Term life insurance in North America that pays out MILLIONS a day in death benefit and has MILLIONS of clients around the country and still has an enormous market of families to help protect

5. The ability to get into the financial services industry with proper education and guidance without having to completely do a career change - You can start part time. What other firms will let you start part time and make your way over slowly?

6. Finally, for the firms that say they are “fee only” and say “commission is bad” - fee only doesn’t mean more affordable to the client, nor does it mean better for the client. People who are “fee only” advisors are like lawyers. They want to charge you for their time no matter what you buy or don’t buy. They get paid no matter what. And their fee is going to be higher than an agent gets helping you set up a Roth IRA and get a term policy. Don’t fall for the nonsense. Primerica is going to do what’s best for the client 100% of the time.

Any REAL financial professional who is actually worth anything is going to help with life insurance - fee only advisors can’t do that as apart of their standard, so they end up referring people to other insurance agents! (The irony…) and as fee only professionals, they don’t always know what they’re doing and sometimes don’t know if the insurance agent they’re partnered with knows what they’re doing - especially if that agent is trying to push an IUL policy in the client. (Look around, no one knows how to properly structure those policies).

7. Lastly, Primerica is NOT a multi-level marketing company. Multiple levels of compensation does not equal MLM. Primerica is more like a real estate brokerage. A broker can recruit real estate agents and gets an override commission when an agent makes a sale. Most sales organizations work this way and are not MLM.

I have been with primerica since 2015, what an outstanding company, from insurance to investments, They have proven to be very trustworthy and an amicable company.

Been clients of Primerica for 32 years now. There’s great comfort in dealing with such a highly regarded company that, through our own experience, also provides great customer service. We recently cancelled our insurance through them as they’ve helped get our investments to a place where we just don’t need it anymore. Trustworthy, reliable, Primerica really cares about our family and our financial goals.

Amazing company!! I would say without any doubt is the only hope for middle income families for financial freedom. As a business opportunity, definitely the company provides the best system, tools, experience, vision etc... to support agents to grow and to build a business, the success is our personal responsability, no excuses.

This company is not MLM. This company stands out as a legitimate and distinct opportunity, setting itself apart from MLM schemes. Unlike typical MLMs, there's no pressure to recruit others to earn money. It operates on the basis of Independent Business Ownership, allowing you to work autonomously or build a team as your own venture. Personally, I've chosen to work part-time and have found significant financial success, making between 2000 to 3000 CAD per month without having to recruit anyone.

One aspect that sets this company apart is that it doesn't involve selling WHOLE LIFE INSURANCE or UNIVERSAL LIFE INSURANCE. Unlike traditional insurance companies and agents who profit by holding on to a client's investment for 2-3 years without giving any returns, this company operates differently. They prioritize transparency and ensure that every single penny you invest is used wisely, providing you with enhanced life coverage.

Overall, I've had a positive experience with this company, and it feels rewarding to be a part of an opportunity that prioritizes integrity and genuine financial growth rather than questionable practices.
