Peter Storm boots, not the quality I had hoped for or expected..
I purchased a pair of Peter Storm boots for a charity walk over Dartmoor, these were not cheap boots costing £70 but I opted to invest in what I believed to be a reputable name.
Other than the 10 mile charity walk I have worn them only on 4 or 5 other occasions, just as regular boots with jeans. So as you can imagine I am very disappointed now with one of the boots, falling apart after such minimal use. Having read many other similar complaints, with failing products in very similar circumstances on trust pilot, I feel it only right to share my experience and having contacted both Peter Storm and the shop that sold them, with neither interested in doing the morally right thing. Shame on you both.

sandles fell apart after probably 5k maximum walking, awful product - do not buy this brand as not fit for purpose
Rubbish hood when windy.
I bought the Peter Parka 3rd edition and it is waterproof so far... I like that it has 7 pockets and is quite warm only designed for winter times in the UK. I wouldn't wear this in any other colder climates as I don't think it would be warm enough. Unfortunately the biggest issue with this coat is when you have your hood up on a windy day/night it just blows off, it doesn't stay on your head. They should test these coats out properly before they sell them.
Poor quality
Bought pair of waking boots for my wife and myself (Go Outdoors) and after two month "top coating of leather Ha Ha" peeling and lettiing in water, poor quality.)
£70 for rubbish boots
I paid £70 for a pair of walking boots less than a year ago. Don't really use them for rough walking, just general wear round garden and workshop, but they are in bits! The leather is coming away, the stitching has undone and the sole is coming apart from the uppers. In short, they are rubbish - the £15 pair I bought from Temu have lasted better.
Waterproof Caldbeck walking boots immediately leaked in a light rain
Bought supposedly waterproof Peter Storm Caldbeck walking boots yesterday and Fay 1 they leaked (both feet!) from the same spot at the toes in a light rain! Never known such an early fault in walking boots and it's both feet so I cannot believe this is a random defect
Waterproof walking boots ,not…
Waterproof walking boots ,not waterproof and developed a hole where the sole meets the upper within 3 months .Not happy !!!
Midweight hiking "knee length" sock - no way
""knee length" hiking sock - not even mid-calf length. Totally misrepresented and miss-sold.
Shoddy
I bought my walking boots 18 months ago & wear them twice a month to walk approximately 12 miles.
About 6 months ago one of the fastening hooks came off & fortunately, my local shoe repairer managed to refix it. Now another, different hook has dropped off. I have tried to contact the Peter Storm customer website using the two numbers given, only to hear an automated list of numbers for irrelevant departments. There is no option to discuss ‘Complaints’ or ‘Other’ matters. I am not satisfied with this lack of willingness to assist with their defective products - hence this review.
I do NOT recommend Peter Storm walking boots.

It’s only got a 1 star because it won’t let me give a zero. Padded jacket worn probably a couple of dozen times and it’s already coming apart on the seams and linings on the pocket are too baggy and constantly get caught in the zip and rip. Primark clothing is a better quality than this absolute garbage.

I had a lovely mustard colour duffel coat, from the Peter storm range, but after one winter the zip as broken, comes open from the bottom, does not stay connected from the bottom to the top,! but there is no one to contact, the coat is still in perfect condition but not wearable,,
As an elderly person a good warm winter coat is a most, I am so disappointed, hoping that a good coat would survive more than one winter,
With minimal wear,
Peter Storm 'waterproof' coat saturated on 2nd use in rain.
Bought a Peter Storm 'waterproof' coat with a fleece liner in Go Outdoors Bedford for a trip to the Lake District. First used in light rain around Derwent for 4-5 hours with no issues on 19/10/25. Today (21/10/2025) it received around an hour of moderate rain around Buttermere and is saturated inside and out - along with everything I had in the pockets. I could actually see what waterproofing had been applied sloughing off as a soapy residue.
I wish I had read the reviews of Peter Storm products before buying because I also have a pair of walking boots from the same brand.
Needless to say, the coat is going back on my return home, but I'm left with the option of spending time and more money buying another one while I'm here or getting soaked to the skin a few more times. I'll never buy anything made by this brand again.
EDIT: 10/11/25. You won't be surprised to learn that the boots leaked like a sieve as well. By the time they had dried out I'd bought a new pair and a coat in Keswick. The only plus was the retailer refunded both items in full with an apology when I went back and explained what had happened.
Also, to be fair, as far as fleeces go Peter Storm are decent value when compared with other brands; I just wouldn't trust them with anything that's supposed to be waterproof.
Be warned: poor quality products, poor customer service
What was once a great brand is reduced to rubbish; see the other reviews here. I bought a waterproof coat at Go Outdoors last year, supposedly reduced from £125 to £75. The main zip degraded and lifted from the fabric after just 18 months of not exactly heavy use, and cannot be closed - making the coat useless. I still have the receipt and original tags. I did not want a refund, just a replacement waterproof coat. The staff instore at Go Outdoors could not help as it was over one year and referred me back to the 'Peter Storm' website, telling me the product had a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. There is no real content on Peter Storm's website and the only contact/phone number takes you to... Millets. All these companies are part of the JD Sports empire. After getting through on the phone after going through multiple options, the line was shocking, the guy tried to help, went away and came back a few times, didn't seem to understand my enquiry, and then told me that 'Peter Storm' only had a maximum one-year warranty, despite what I have been told by Go Outdoors. So be warned. I suppose you get what you pay for, and I will not buy again the cheaply mass-produced rubbish now being sold under the Peter Storm brand. Shame. And given the customer service experience, will think twice about buying again from Go Outdoors.
Wouldn't be without them
Bought a pair of Peter Storm walking trousers last year, 2024. Very versatile having zip off legs for crops and shorts too. Are good quality material and well made. Wash and wear very easily. Wouldn't be without them
Peter Storm Caldbeck walking boots
Peter Storm Caldbeck walking boots. Don’t buy! After 6 months the insole started to break up, just after 1 year the sole on 1 boot is coming off and the stitching on both boots is coming apart. The boots are used for dog walking twice a day and were regularly cleaned and treated.
Not quite six months old
Bought the boots last November used them daily for taking the dog for a walk. No longer than two hours a day. Last month (April) whilst out walking I noticed the right boot feeling loose so checked the lace, it was the sole detaching from the upper. Less than six months wear and now useless.
I bought a pair of Peter Storm walking…
I bought a pair of Peter Storm walking shoes in August 2023. They were worn for dog walking, up to around 1 hour a day at the most. They were around £80, and were advertised as waterproof. I re-proofed them a number of times, but they did get frequently wet and muddy. After 8 months one of the soles came away from the upper part of the shoe. I was given a free replacement of the same shoes by Go Outdoors, where I bought the original pair. After another 11 months the exact same fault has occurred. I won’t bother Go Outdoors again, and I definitely won’t be buying any more Peter Storm footwear.
Paid around 50 pounds for Peter storm…
Paid around 50 pounds for Peter storm ladies walking boots. Cleaned and used dubbin after every use. Now peeling after 18 months occasional use. Very disappointed
Peter Storm Walking boots
Peter Storm Walking boots with storm grip soles. The first time I wore them in town to break them in it was damp and I slipped on a metal manhole cover. I put that down to the rubber needing the shine taken off it. Later I had to be air-lifted off the mountain near my home due to slipping on on a damp rock. Today I decided to wear them on a walk around the lanes, unfortunatly it began to rain on the the way back and I slipped twice in matter of seconds, IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY. I will be destroying then when the rain stops. The ONLY reason I gave one star was because I couldn't give zero.
