I returned some items over two months ago, and despite contacting them many times via email (they do not have a phone number), I have still not received a refund. I have now taken up the issue with the ombudsman and my bank. The website is still up and running, so it seems that they are still trading despite the many reports that the business has gone bust. I am owed £70 and I am not very confident I will get it back...

Made an order 24th July which I sent for return on 31st July. It's not 4th August and no recognition of this at all or response to any emails with proof of postage. Tried calling customer services and the number doesn't work. I have always supported People Tree in the past for well made ethical clothing but this has completely ruined my trust in the brand

Very sad to say am having the exact same experience as recent reviews on here. They really should not be accepting any orders if they are not staffing the returns department. Very sad to say think I've lost my money for the returned dresses. Not very ethical at all as it turns out.

No refund. No reply to emails. On the grapevine I’ve heard all the staff have been made redundant. Can’t be long for this world. Order at your peril - and make sure you use a credit card or PayPal. If you’re missing your refund, get on to your bank now.

I bought 4 items and returned one dress still have not got my refund and you send emails and no one replies

Awful customer service, unfortunately the dress I bought didn’t quite fit so I sent it back promptly the day after receiving it. After about 10 days I hadn’t heard anything on wether they had received my return or when a refund would be processed.
I emailed about 3 or 4 times, tried to ring the phone lines that are now non existent due to ‘covid’ I also tried to message via social media about my return. I finally received a response via email explaining that they were having staffing issues but yet nothing explaining if they had received my return or when a refund would be processed after again sending 3 or 4 emails multiple days apart they finally said they had processed a refund. Suprise suprise refund still hasn’t arrived in my bank so I contacted yet again and they showed me proof of refund to someone who has a completely different first name to me but has the same surname for a wrong amount.
After emailing back and saying they had the wrong person I got a strongly worded email saying it was my fault that the refund hasn’t been processed correctly as I threatened them to go to social media, I read back through my dozen emails to them to check and alas I hadn’t made any sort of threats whatsoever the only mention of social media was that ‘I tried to contact customer services via social media’

Not only has the process of getting a refund been lengthily and time consuming the communication and false accusations and allegations from customer service and they way they have spoken to me have been disgusting and upsetting.

People Tree is my go-to for well made, well cut clothing made of organic materials. The quality of their stuff is excellent for the price, especially considering it is fair trade. The one time I had to return something they dealt with it without any hassle. Highly recommend them.

if customer service matters to you this company replies to emails by a real human who is kind, considerate, and professional. customer service attitude really matters to me and it hasn't been one occasion they were very polite and helpful. they offer free returns which is also helpful. for the tops I have found the sizing generous, for bottoms i have found it regular. not everyone is always perfect but I think this is a good company to purchase and support. I hope this carries on.

Order arrived within 48 hours. I'm a size 14, dress and jeans true to size, love the ethics of this company. Highly recommend!

I really like the ethics and concept of this company: stylish clothes made by correctly paid workers.
BUT their sizing for any kind of curve really doesn't work.
It also takes a really long time to get a refund. I've gone through the process a couple of times now and it just doesn't work.

I like the fact that all the clothes here are eco friendly.the design and style are my taste too which is a bonus.prices are reasonable as well and i think i would buy from peopletree again.

No confirmation of receipt, no refund within 3 weeks of receipt of return ( to dutch EU mainland returns center). No response via email.

Such a shame! I Live the company and the products which I purchase and enjoy for macht years. Butter this is inacceptable

Beautiful handmade, organic and ethical clothing. Have shopped with people tree for over 10 years because their clothes are an investment and last a long time. It feels good too knowing I am investing in the people who made them and their traditional production methods that are environmentally friendly and worth every penny. Such a wonderful company and ethos.

Recently bought some women's underwear from them and another vendor as looking for sustainable options, unfortunately the people tree pants were an odd cut - slightly tight in some places, uncomfortable to wear with not very soft fabric and i would return except for no returns policy on underwear - so £30 down the drain.
The other vendor's (Boody) pants were by contrast soft fabric, very comfortable fit and also sustainable.

I’m sad to see so many negative reviews. I’ve been shopping with People Tree since they started, and have never had a bad experience, both with garment quality and customer service. Their sizing is sometimes quite generous, but I generally order two sizes and send one back. Returns are free and refunds generally prompt. My latest item (a shirt dress) is lovely quality and arrived next day.

Beautiful clothes but quite fragile. Avoid 30° C in the washing machine, handwash is safer.
