OYO rooms are a complete scam

OYO rooms are a complete scam. The photos of the hotel room we booked online were entirely different from the actual room we were assigned upon arrival. They require you to make the payment online in advance, explicitly stating that the payment is non-refundable. While the room cost was listed as ₹4,500, the direct walk-in rate at the hotel was only ₹2,000. When we entered the room we had booked online, the AC was leaking water right inside the room. When we requested a room change, they simply told us that we had to stick with the specific room we had booked. If you call OYO customer care, they keep you on hold indefinitely without providing any response; subsequently, when you try calling again, you cannot even get through to customer care. Booking through OYO is a total fraud; I advise everyone against doing it.

We had a horrible experience at Super Collection O Maharaja Palace, Kanpur (booked via OYO, Booking ID: BJF87009).

The room was extremely dirty and full of insects crawling everywhere—on the bed, floor, and walls. It was not just uncomfortable but a serious health hazard. It was impossible to even stand or lie down properly.

The AC was not working at all, and the staff falsely claimed it was fine. The behavior of the staff was very rude and uncooperative. Even basic amenities like towels were denied despite double occupancy.

Despite complaining, no proper action was taken. Only a temporary spray was done, and the issue remained the same. No one followed up.

We were forced to leave the hotel immediately due to such unsafe and unhygienic conditions.

This property is completely misrepresented on OYO and does not match the standards shown online.

Strongly not recommended. Avoid at all costs.

Very bad experience with OYO

Very bad experience with OYO. I strongly advise people — don’t ever book from them.

The room images shown online are completely misleading and do not match the actual condition. This is not just one bad room — it’s a repeated issue across multiple properties.

In Delhi, following OYO team suggestions, I visited 7 different rooms in a single day. Not even one matched what was shown in the pictures. This feels completely deceptive.

I came all the way from the UAE, and instead of getting rest, I lost my entire day and sleep going from one place to another. I was totally exhausted and frustrated.

Another major concern is the type of environment in many of these properties. These places did not feel suitable for families at all, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable and questionable. Parents should be very cautious before considering such bookings.

My intention is to alert others — what is shown online is not what you actually get, and the overall experience can be very disappointing.

Worst experience at oyo hotels in mahipalpur delhi

We booked some hotels in mahipalpur delhi but when we reached on location, the hotel name was totally different and they denied us to check in as they have stopped taking bookings from oyo but the hotel was still showing on oyo app and there was no information available on the website, later on we booked the another hotel on oyo app and we found out that the images of the hotel was related to the other hotel and the name and location was totally wrong. Whenever we try to contact any hotel, there is no direct response from their side. Totally disappointed from the oyo service in mahipalpur delhi.

It is your mistake that you sent me the wrong location of the hotel due to which I had a lot of trouble finding the hotel. I wasted four hours and my rent was ruined a lot. My rent of 500 rupees was ruined and it was ruined by 700 rupees. After that, I found the hotel with the help of Google Maps. You sent me the wrong location. Bad service, bad room, dirty,

I recently booked a OYO HOTEL at HOTEL OYO PADMAVATHI PURAM, THIRUPATHI. I have never stayed in such a useless OYO Hotel in my life. Such a lousy Hotel where there are no basic facilities are provided

I recently booked a OYO PADMAVATHI at PADMAVATHI PURAM TIRUPATI. I never stayed in such a lousy Hotel where basic facilities for customers are provided. Dirty linens, room full of Mosquitos, Dirty Bathroom & Toilet, Gheyser not working, totally unhygienic room where one should never stay. Don't cheat customers by cheating photos & putting false facilities available. We are paying you money for a good & comfortable stay, but you are providing third rate Hotels projecting it as very good hotels, this misguiding customers. Will never book OYO HOTELS with my bitter experience. Don't trap customers projecting false & non existent facilities.

Very horrible experience. I booked Deluxe rooms in Andheri Mumbai for three nights and vacated next day, due to the following
1. Room different than photos
2. Full dusty, not cleaned
3. No maintenance
4. Smelly, no exhaust system
5. Rats & insects in room.
6. Poor support from OYO help

We stayed in Nagpur Oyo super townhouse…

We stayed in Nagpur Oyo super townhouse central bazar road ramdaspeth.
The staff were very rude . The room was pathetic. I would have given a negative rating if there is an option . First of all the oyo team asked to make 25% payment and said your booking will be confirmed, Rest you can pay once you reached. Before reaching the hotel we called them to inform that we are checking in a little late. The pathetic manager says that please pay the full amount then only the booking will get confirmed otherwise you have to look for any other option, That means if we have not called him then he would have given the room to someone else inspite of given an advance payment.
The room was full of cockroaches not at all clean. While flushing the toilet, water was coming out of it and also they had given us a last corner room because we have already done the full payment, because they knew that we cannot do anything now.
If we asked for something they give us half an hour later. Neither the service was good nor the room.
And the attitude of the manager was literally pathetic. I would recommend not to choose oyo rooms and specially this property in Nagpur. The review given in other websites are paid reviews I feel.

had a horrible experience with OYO Rooms in Jaipur. I would honestly not recommend anyone to use this app.

The hotel I booked was extremely dirty — from the washroom to the floors, everything was unhygienic and poorly maintained. The room conditions were completely different from what was shown in the photos on the app.

On top of that, when I requested a refund due to the poor condition, there was no proper support from OYO. Customer service was unhelpful and the entire process wasted my whole day.

Very disappointing experience. Please think twice before booking.

Extremely Poor and Misleading Service – Do Not Trust OYO

I had a terrible and stressful experience with OYO. I booked this hotel because my mother recently had surgery and cannot walk properly. The OYO website clearly said the hotel has an elevator, which was the main reason I booked.
However, before visiting the hotel, I contacted the hotel manager directly and was informed that the hotel has never had an elevator. This is false information and very misleading, especially for elderly or disabled guests

I called OYO customer service multiple times to cancel the booking, but they kept transferring my call and then disconnecting. No proper help, no solution, no empathy. Because of this, I had to book another hotel urgently, which caused extra stress and extra money loss.

This is false advertising and very irresponsible. I want my full refund immediately.

I strongly advise people not to book through OYO if you care about accurate information and customer support. This was my worst hotel booking experience ever.

Beware of scamsters.

After having faced similar experience as the other reviewers, I am amazed that the OYO chain of hotels is still allowed to operate.
I had booked a room for 5 days at one of their hotels on the 4th Floor, Palm Beach Galleria Mall, Palm Beach Road, Vashi, Mumbai, India, a week before my planned visit.
I was asked to pay upfront room charges either partially or in full. I paid in full to avoid the hassle of managing it later.
On the day I was to check in, unbeknownst to me OYO changed my booking to OYO Yatri Inn at Vashi.
I flew in from Bengaluru to Mumbai on the day of my check-in at OYO Palm Beach Galleria and was told that my booking has been changed to OYO Yatri Inn.
I refused to move to OYO Yatri Inn and insisted on a refund. OYO was reluctant to refund me. Getting across to OYO customer service was another pain in the butt.
They kept cutting me off and insisted that I have been moved to Yatri Inn and that I better take it,
While this was going on I noticed there was a wedding ceremony at OYO Palm Beach Galleria and that the entire hotel had been given to this wedding party. Now I knew why OYO booted me out of this hotel.
Oyo also insisted I take their Wizard membership. For this I paid Rs.300.
I finally got my refund around midnight on the day (read night) i checked in, minus the wizard membership fees.
I request all those who read this understand that OYO is a group of scamsters defrauding people.
Another point I want to get across is that their ads show wealthy people and white people at their reception checking in. This is gravely misleading and the authorities should look into this.

We booked a hotel on 25/01/2026 for our family. We wanted the hotel destination near by or in the radius of 1 km of velankanni shrine tamil Nadu,for further clarification we called up customer care.and explained her the requirements.she checked and suggested us hotel and told its within 1 km from velankanni shrine. And asked us to make advance payment of Rs.3505 we agreed and made the payment on her request.She confirmed us that she is taking us on call conference with the hotel reception and mean while the call got disconnected.but when we checked we found hotel destination from velankanni shrine is about 14 km away that means false information provided by oyo customers care while booking
The hotel they provided us was "COLLECTION O NAGAPATTINAM BUS TERMINAL FORMERLY YAZHISAI RESIDENCY"
Same day the complaint was registered and it was told that within 24 to 48 hrs the complaint will be solved but now the complaint has been closed without any resolution and also the OYO customer care is denying to provide the refund and this was said by the Senior Executive Mr.Yash.

The rooms provided were not at all hygienic or properly cleaned. The condition of the bathrooms was shocking—toilet waste was present, clearly showing that basic housekeeping standards were not followed. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a corporate booking.
There was zero coordination between OYO senior management, hotel managers, and hotel staff. The hotel boys and managers seemed unaware of corporate booking details, which caused unnecessary confusion and inconvenience during check-in.
Despite the rooms being pre-booked and paid, we were asked to pay additional money at check-in, which is unethical and unprofessional.
Ms. Hritika, who was introduced as one of the heads of OYO Karnataka, handled the situation very poorly. There was bluffing, misleading communication, and lack of responsibility, with no proper resolution provided. Her coordination with the hotel was extremely poor, adding to the frustration.
Overall, this was a highly unprofessional and distressing experience. OYO’s corporate booking service failed completely in terms of hygiene, transparency, coordination, and customer support. I strongly do not recommend OYO Corporate Booking, especially for business or group stays.

Stranded at 3 AM with family despite advance payment – Terrible service

I am writing this to warn others about my recent experience with OYO (Booking ID: VW5C3381). Despite having a confirmed booking and paying in advance, my family and I were turned away by the hotel manager at 3:00 AM because 'no rooms were available.'

Leaving a family stranded on the street in the middle of the night is dangerous and completely unacceptable. While OYO initiated a refund, a simple refund does not compensate for the extreme stress, safety risks, and exhaustion we endured. OYO failed in its basic responsibility to ensure the room they sold me actually existed.

I am deeply disappointed by the lack of support and the zero-effort approach to finding us alternative logic. My trust in OYO is completely broken. I expect a resolution that goes beyond a basic refund for the trauma caused."
