The care in Cherry Ward and Laurel Ward was brilliant. A special mention to nurse Donna but my Wife Carol could not have had better care and attention in a private hospital

I have had a very distressing and…

I have had a very distressing and unsafe experience with both emergency services and my GP practice, which left me feeling unsupported during a serious medical situation.

It started when I developed severe abdominal pain. My condition became so serious that I had to call emergency services (999). In fact, I had to call 999 four times and repeatedly answer the same questions each time, despite being in severe pain and struggling to speak properly.

I was eventually taken to hospital by ambulance at night. Throughout the night, I was left sitting in a chair as no proper bed was initially available. Only in the morning was I offered a bed, which had no pillow or blanket. The food provided was also not appropriate for a patient in acute pain.

The discharge process was unclear and inconsistent. I was initially told I would be transported home by ambulance, but later, after a shift change, another staff member informed me that this was not available. I was effectively told I would need to make my own way home after receiving morphine. Fortunately, transport was eventually arranged via 111.

After this hospital episode, I was still unwell and contacted my GP practice requesting an urgent appointment. I was told there were no available appointments and was directed to complete an online form, which again redirected me to 111 due to the urgency of my condition.

When a nurse called me back, I was again told there were no appointments available and was advised to travel to another clinic approximately one hour away, despite the fact that I could barely walk and was struggling to breathe at the time.

In addition, my local medical centre, Shore Medical Poole Road, which is located very close to me, did not offer an appointment and instead attempted to redirect me to another medical centre far away, even though I was unable to get out of bed at the time. This made the situation feel even more distressing and unsafe.

Throughout this entire experience, I felt a lack of consistent medical support, poor coordination between services, and a lack of appropriate response to what was clearly a serious and urgent condition. Instead of receiving timely care, I was repeatedly redirected between services while in significant distress.

I hope this feedback helps highlight the need for better coordination in urgent care pathways and more appropriate handling of patients in acute pain and vulnerable conditions.

What is even the point in…

What is even the point in receptionists? They're power hungry, they talk to people as if we're a nuisance and don't have much options. But they can talk and get in a strange attitude people but don't like it back. If they don't want to help people just say it...they rather laze about and sit and stare at a screen all day.

NHS UK Anima nonsense.

Have been suffering from arthritic and capul tunnel since Oct 25 and now taking nuraphen by the bucket load. Tried to ring GP for appointment for painkillers and they first asked me "How old are you"? WTF?? I then told them and they replied " You can only have an appointment if you are over the age of 80 yrs"??? and told me to use the 'Anima' booking service. 'Anima' after spending 20 mins ticking boxes told me to go to the nearest hospital 'A&E'(which is a 16 miles round trip) ????? and waited 2.5 hours. THIS IS NONSENCE!!
We can no longer see a GP anymore(which is 2 miles away) and this multi million pound website will put more pressure on hospitals hoping that we just go away or, if you have the money go 'POOPA HEALTHCARE' "The Que Jumper, Poor People Need Not Apply". ALL NHS DOCTORS AND CONSULTANTS MUST BE BANNED FROM DOING PRIVATE WORK WITHIN THE NHS.You either work for the NHS or you do not.

IDIOTIC VERIFICATION CODES 🤬🤬🤬🤬

This review is not for the NHS in general which I have always found to be generally good.
This is about their app which contains ( like many others) the potentially lethal dependence on the vile VERIFICATION CODES in order to access one’s account.
If you must use this abomination, GIVE THE OPTION OF RECEIVING CODES BY EMAIL, NOT PHONE as the inability of phones to receive these codes is a well known and documented issue.

Tranexamic Acid Cruelly Withheld

The NHS have consistently failed me for years, and most notably now, Dr. King of Shakespeare Road Medical Practice has spent over a year taunting me about whether I will or will not be prescribed my usual, essential Tranexamic Acid and other medications. It was not even due for review until April 2026, but she was trying to coerce and blackmail me into tests and treatments I did not want, and it was withdrawn suddenly and completely in February. I have been having my heaviest period since 2020. It is miscarriage level. I am in a mess and Dr. King and her minions do not care. They are cruel and cold. I am broken and desperate.

I will refrain from expressing a…

I will refrain from expressing a lengthy complaint, as it would be an unproductive use of my time. As a former nurse, I can attest that the extended waiting periods observed are unnecessary.

The assertion that there is no shortage of medical professionals is questionable.

A shortage of medical personnel appears to be evident. I endured a six-hour wait, only to be informed that an additional four hours would pass before I could consult with a physician.

During that six-hour period, every individual in the waiting area was assessed by a triage nurse, yet no one was seen by a doctor.

How can this situation be justified? Ultimately, I returned home due to the unbearable pain I was experiencing.

I was compelled to return home and administer painkillers, which, incidentally, provided minimal relief.

It is unacceptable that I had to leave and self-medicate with analgesics due to the unavailability of doctors. Consequently, I will not be returning.

I am also frustrated with the lack of progress from my general practitioner, despite undergoing four scans and numerous blood tests. Surely, a resolution should be attainable by now.

Nevertheless, I am currently at home, in discomfort, and unwilling to endure another 10+ hours on an uncomfortable, slippery steel chair.

The responsible parties should be held accountable for this situation.

Please explain why the NHS employs an utterly useless private patient transport company EMED group to provide NEPTS up and down the country, looking into this company it is a private equity company draining resources from our wonderful NHS, they are always late and dont give a flying fig to renal, cancer and all other customers. CEO of ERS should be called to account.

NHS dead in the water

my wife sustained a very nasty facial injury last night [slipped and caught her cheek on counter top] we arrived at york A&E at 5.30 am were booked in and triaged quite quickly , the male nurse said he would organise an Xray just in case of broken jaw. We waited then for a considerable time , we saw no doctors until just after 8am when people suddenly started to be called in , we walked down to Xray and met a male nurse who enquired why we were there, on explaining the situation he took us to the Xray technician , who knew nothing about us until this point. Mywife was swiftly exrayed [ top marks to her] and then we waited again until a nurse took us to another area to see a doctor . This area was very small incredibly hot and stuffy , we were told to wait again .My wife is very claustrophobic and after putting up with it as long as she could she asked how much longer the wait would be ,she was told :we dont know it could be 2hrs it could be 4hrs . At this point we left went to achemist and bought butterfly stiches etc and we now hope for the best .I knew the NHS was in a bad way but this beggars belief. through out all this there were very elderly people slumped in very uncomfotable chairs for literally hours ignored by everyone.

The NHS has become a joke

The NHS has become a joke, the problem is that they are not funny. My mum needs a fairly easy op but the excuses are a joke. The lying is just as bad she didn't want the op according to the ignorant moron who examend her. Problem was I was with her and she said she wanted to get the op, just don't want to do it as she is 71. NHS says she's old so government can't say they want to raise pension age unless NHS does its job, as for A&E what's the point of telling the public about signs of stroke symptoms in adverts and when you tell the arogent a holes the ignore you and let's not start of transferring my mum without telling me to another hospital as 24hrs later were worried about a stroke

Problem worse for seeing them

it is now 11 days since my biopsy and i am convinced more than ever it was performed by a trainee as the guy in the pink uniform who did it received step by step instructions with many correction orders on every move he made from a guy in street clothes i was not told he was/could have been a trainee but the pain that i am in now makes me think so,.I had no pain at all before the biopsy and no swelling at all and now my neck is swollen and very painful to touch ,my whole side of my face is numb and it sounds like i have a nest of snakes in my ear and for the last few days i have had the king of all headaches ,Connie has tries to get an appointment with my GP but their new system is a joke we now have to fill in an online triage for the wait to receive a confirmation code which never came so the surgery did not get the appointment request Connie went in person to the surgery with the printed screenshots to prove the request was made and that their confirmation code was not sent ,this was on wednesday 4 days ago and she was told that the message would be passed on to the GP and we would be contacted this was 4 days ago and we are still waiting for the GP to call ! ,but every time you phone the surgery we are told to fill in the on line form I have tried talking to the pharmacist at the chemist and she said my neck should not be like this after 11 and to contact my GP as she does not have the training for such a problem ?

Not a very good Physiotherapist

Not a very good practice, Physiotherapist practicing at Fusion 2, situated in the High Street Sheerness.
• First appointment was just to take my details. Not even take up my allotted twenty mins.
• Second appointment, only 15 mins long, and very little work done on my injury.
• At the third appointment, asked about my injury's progress. It wasn’t getting better, so the therapists referred me to a specialist. Only took 10 min.
Still waiting for a letter 2 weeks later.
Very bad experience, therapists did not know what she was doing or could not be bothered, also very hard to understand what the shes said.
Total waist of NHS money.

Further complicity in patient neglect

'David' (no surname provided) on behalf of Complaints Southwest is complicit in stonewalling where my mother's healthcare is concerned.

The surgery, namely Amy Baker (current practice manager) and my mother's GP (Jennifer Gray), are failing to provide 'mental health' reviews in response to calls for her medicinal dosages of Olanzapine to be increased.

They risked her death on two occasions, NHS England also stonewalling in the face of allegations as submitted in what was at least as much as a ten-page long report.

Facts and evidence, submitted. Marxism is being maintained, with no authentic complaints process as proven by 'David' of Complaints Southwest (and previously, DPT).

This particular surgery, with assistance from connected departments within the NHS, are without any doubt guilty of a multiplicity of crimes and they know this. They are brazen, knowing they can just go silent and no-one can act except if a complainant takes them to court and which they understand most people won't wish to do because it is not time-effective when associated needs are often urgent.

They are essentially murderers if risking the lives of patients. They could simply do the right thing but won't. They are protecting, instead, local council which now has a say over the NHS by means of socialist legislation and indeed directly by means of the OPMH (their data-gathering initiative), Dr. John Dumb (I heard he was in a fire) having decreased my mother's dosage when the opposite should have happened.

They represent a literal evil. Nothing more can be said. Evil people are sometimes that, throughout. Absolutely revolting individuals. And there is zero comeback from this. They know full well that the current political situation in this country via all this superficial sign-posting legislation is ambiguous at best and that they can go in whatever direction they choose...I personally think they like their little bit of power, that they've been wrongly appropriated by a totalitarian government. Power-trips for feminists, in this particular context, over and above a general building of a communist police-state taking place in the background.

I arrived at the A&E department with…

I arrived at the A&E department with severe chest pains, an dangerously high heart rate, and spiking blood pressure. Instead of the urgent clinical care you would expect for potential cardiac distress, I was left sitting in a cramped, filthy corridor for hours.
The Environment
The state of the hospital was frankly shocking. It was overcrowded, visibly dirty, and smelled appalling. There seemed to be no distinction between those with life-threatening emergencies and those with minor ailments. The lack of triage meant the waiting area was a chaotic free-for-all.
Patient Dignity and Safety
The most heartbreaking part was witnessing the total lack of patient control. I was sat next to an elderly lady who appeared to be suffering from strokes while sitting upright in a basic corridor chair. Seeing vulnerable patients treated with such a lack of basic clinical oversight is terrifying.
A Systemic Failure
It is clear that the NHS has been hollowed out. What was once a "powerhouse of success" has been reduced to a failing service. This is the direct result of years of both Labour and Tory governments pushing private initiatives and handing lucrative contracts to private providers while leaving NHS Trusts to wither and struggle.
Bottom line: If you have a choice, avoid this facility. The staff are working their socks off and doing what they can, but the system itself is broken, unsafe, and unsanitary all for profit for private health care initiatives. Time to make changes and cut the rot from the wood and that rot is the private sector, they suck the life out of everything and anything for greed and dividends.

This comment refers to the Anima GP on…

This comment refers to the Anima GP on line system recently introduced by the NHS when contacting your local GP surgery.
I cannot believe that anyone would be so stupid as to introduce such a pathetic and badly designed system. It is utter nonsense and those responsible should be sacked.
Having lived and worked in mainland Europe for over 30 years I am astounded that the UK government would introduce such a poor system which serves no one. The NHS is a joke. The system of GP surgery services is a joke. The UK is so far behind other European countries it is embarrassing. The only choice seems to be to go private. The NHS is finished.
