Need to Resolve Account Recovery Issues

The new owners of Neopets are doing a great job overall. I've just returned to playing and I've had a decently good experience. The ads for the free version are a bit too unreasonable, and the new pop-up telling me to deactivate my ad-blocker is just annoying. I'm also very disappointed about not being able to recover my past account without being able to name my Neofriends or items I purchased with NC Cash. I have ample evidence the account belongs to me but naming old neofriends and old items is just an arbitrary rule. I will not be purchasing Premium content until the issue is resolved. Both on principle and to protect my new account from encountering the same problem should something happen in the future

I don't recommend anymore..

there are SO many ads that my computer freezes. it's so annoying all the broken links on the site. used to be a fun game but it's time to move on because the stress of the game isn't worth it!

Account recovery is impossible

I've been trying to get my childhood account back for over a month with no luck. Support sticks to a rigid script and doesn't read responses - part of the second half of questions for sensitive accounts is which email address the account was created under, and whether you have access to it, and more often than not I get told to submit a new ticket under that email address when I've answered I no longer have access to it.
If you file an appeal, it'll likely be handled by the same person, at least that's been my experience. What point is there to having Blake M. review their own work?
Comparing my experience to what I've heard online, success depends heavily on who your ticket is assigned to. Some support staff will accept supplementary information, while others won't and are extremely stringent to the point you'd think you were trying to recover a bank account, not an account for a kids' site.
In the process, I even recovered my old Photobucket account in hopes the dated screenshots there might help my case, and was able to move that account from the same defunct email to my new one with no problems, even though they would potentially have a lot more sensitive information than my Neopets account.
All in all, my experience has been extremely frustrating, and I hope they review the new process soon. It'd likely help if they weren't essentially forcing users to repeatedly send in tickets until they finally get lucky and are assigned to someone who actually wants to help. I'd love to come back, especially since it seems there's been a lot of improvements recently - unfortunately, account recovery hasn't been one of them.

Terrible support staff

Don’t bother, the support staff doesn’t actually read any of the tickets and just sends an automated response. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are using ai to respond. Hopefully the site dies and the guy who bought it loses all his money

the new TNT totally understood the assignment!!!

the new TNT (The Neopets Team) TOTALLY understood the assignment 👏🏼 i played all through primary school, high school & uni. i watched it pass through many hands, & every moment of it has been crazy, sometimes leading to black markets off the site. i just picked it up again as a young adult - after a few year hiatus - & i can say it is currently under the best leadership it’s ever been in since the original creators retired from the game. honestly couldn’t be happier with how well it has targeted my nostalgic generation with all of its super funny, super relatable, super cute marketing on fb, insta & reddit. i love how they brought back all of the cherished old site art, so we no longer have to dream of our dream pets, how it made neopasses & extra pet slots to accommodate the userbase’s clear need to have multiple ways of expressing yourself, the new plots & related items & new neopet (varwolf) it has made, the dream neopet giveaway, & the amazing new app game that provides in-game rewards by being linked to your actual account! this community has always been picky & hard to please, but i have never seen it thrive so much since it’s early days. thank you so much TNT for everything you have done to resuscitate this nostalgic game for this vibrant community of players. thank you for keeping the childish innocence in tact for us too. love your work so much!!!

Ignored

I forgot my password, so I logged out, clicked “forgot password”, and awaited the email that said it would arrive within an hour. That didn’t come, so it said contact support for help. What has followed has been an absolute nightmare. Not only have they not helped me, they’ve said that everything I’ve given them is incorrect, and all they give me is an automated response of what they need instead of clarifying what “item codes” means. I have sent them this information REPEATEDLY, i have submitted several tickets trying to talk to someone else, or a real person, or to get them to pay attention because they keep saying that I’m not me, yet they continue to take my Premium payment out. Why have “forgotten password” if you’re never going to send that email for a forgotten password? That is what I am trying to get, the original email I requested. They preach about community, but I felt completely unseen and confused by unclear directions as a ND person, and when I ask for clarification on something, all I get is “Sorry, that’s not right,” as though I’ve answered a question instead of asking one. It is NEOPETS and it has driven my anxiety through the roof, simply because they refuse to help me, they write me off and ignore me.

Horrible pay to play cash grab

If I could give less than one star I would. 😡 This site that was great once has become pay-to-play cash grab with an horrible, greedy, stingy team. Ads everywhere, and everything remotely good is being locked behind a paywall. The community is reflecting this mindset by being toxic and horrible to non-premium users, mocking them for 'being poor' and not being able to afford to cough up money to spin a wheel. The site itself is riddled with many bugs and this team's communication is lacking and at times insulting. Not recommended. There are way more modern games, like flight rising, santae or the other neo clones. Go there instead.

Is a game... not a SELL COMPANY!

What trigger me the most is how it works. I'm ok with rules or whatever, I mean works awful but ok.
The problem is the price. They ask real money.
I could understand for a good game such as Fortnite, we all known the concept between freemium, but not like that!
The freemium sucks, you cannot even play, they ask real money... is a child game!!!
Then the concept of poker. I'm a 29 years old lady and is ok FOR ME, but I won't let my 6 yo kid gambling!!! Is not child friend.
Also whole the concept of "unhappy" or... I'm ok with explaining what is depression, ok, but not like that!
Tamagochi was safe because had a sense and Tamagochi wasn't a black hole for money!!!
Really... none here are saying WHY is not ok.
Here motivations:
A) is a child game but the lore is for the nostalgic adults;
B) gambling, this game is a gambling game;
C) real money needed, I will never let my kid using them.
So, sucks for A and B and C motivations!!!!

PS: for the "privacy concern" I don't use my personal mail.

Trivia game

So Much For Fun ... Pop Up Galore!

Way too many ads to make it fun. I'll still log on daily to feed and take care of the pets I have, just for the nostalgia of it all and a break from life, but won't do the daily quests anymore as before what would take me 5 minutes to do is taking me 30 or more since I now have to play ad attack with the constant popups. So much for reliving a fun part of my young adult life -- I don't remember so many ads the first time Neopets came out but like everything else in this money hungry world, all they care about is the all mighty dollar ...

Free 2 Play Players don't matter

If you haven’t spent a dime on this game, you’ll be shoved to the side, and they don’t give a frick about you.

You can only recover your account with purchase receipts, but if you never made one, tough luck, they’ll just keep closing your tickets with a copy-paste message. No Neopets for me, I guess. 0/10

Only had the free version

Only had the free version, but there were so many adverts popping up it was like playing advert attack constantly. Then there were many video adverts that caused the games to glitch and made them unplayable as the characters just kept dying. It is an obvious ploy to get people to switch to the premium version as it is all about the money!

Literally scamming our family members…

Literally scamming our family members with disabilities and others kids as well with the enticement to buy loot box assets only for accounts with them to be shutdown for invalid and erroneous reasons and to have automated scripted responses in support that shutdown every query without responding to messages at all. Revoked access to over hundreds of dollars of digital assets with no provided evidence or cause. Copy pasted replies to all users regardless of individual messages, queries or cases to automatically close them indicate they are not actually operating on individual support cases at all. Highly likely they are following automated scripts that both incorrectly flag accounts with no recourse or support and deny basic user support to the users.

So Disappointed After 20+ Years...

Reading the other reviews here, same experience. Blake M. "helped" me by repeatedly asking the same questions and not answering or acknowledging when I answered them. Then when they couldn't help had the audacity to mark the ticket "solved" like they'd helped me in any capacity.

The customer service is deplorable

The customer service is deplorable. Repeatedly copying & pasting answers, ignoring information supplied & completely gaslighting you. Closing tickets and stating if you submit a new ticket with information x,y,z they’ll ‘gladly’ look into it again. Insulting when x,y,z has already been provided multiple times. I’ve been playing for about 22-23 years, have spent into the thousands on NC over the years and Premium. I’m devastated at how they are treating players. Avoid like the plague.

Horrible Customer Service

Horrible Customer Service. They claim to have changed things around but it’s all a rouge. They make the same failures that has kept neopets from being successful in the past and don’t care about anything but making as much money as possible and keeping players addicted to a broken outdated obsolete game.

Wonderful site that is still going strong to this day!

I adore, Neopets! it's my childhood dating back to the early 2000s. I remember having most of the TCG sets and games, and toys. So it's a wonderful feeling to be back and now being able to make millions of neopoints, and having my pets finally be faeries, with rare and expensive petpets. However, what I don't like is most of the silly rules that TNT has.. and it's not at all easy to get your old account back UNLESS you know the email which sucks. I had an old account dating back to 2005, but there wasn't anything valuable on there nor any trophies. But I for sure feel for those who wants to log into their old account and embrace all of their hard work and efforts.
