I have been working with Music Gateway for my music marketing and promotional needs for over year now. Having worked with other similar agencies, I can highly recommend Music Gateway as a company who actually give a s***. They understand how to pivot and adapt in the ever changing music industry. They listen to the artist and look to build a plan around the vision and goals. They understand the financial restraints of breaking a new act and have various ways to grow their partnered artists within a budget.

I have a great relationship with my account manager, Lee, who shows a genuine interest and excitement for the project and is always looking for new opportunities to explore together. Lee always makes time to take my calls and respond to my emails and really is an asset to the business. He has a great team of talented specialists around him who work tirelessly throughout the campaigns. Having already run several successful campaigns with Lee, we have a plan for the next year ahead and I am excited to continue my partnership with Music Gateway.

The staff at Music Gateway have been excellent.
Marcus in particular has really extended himself in assisting me with my account settings.
This is a great organization!

Is there any other musicians using Music gateway for releasing songs. I am reaching out to others to share opinions and experiences. As a new artist it can be a mine field to navigate through all the hype.

I have had a few issues myself, and in fairness, music gateway are looking into these issues and are being very helpful in supporting me.

It would be great to hear from any other music gateway artists or non music gateway artists.

Their platform is very well set and detailed for those musicians who aim to get their music featured in entertainment industry.

Very very poor distribution service.

I joined in April 2024 in the hopes of transferring my music from Tunecore UK.

Immediately on joining I had a 1 to 1 phone call with someone making a Spotify sales pitch (fair enough). I happened to be informed of a huge website update and to hold off uploading music for 1 week.

I uploaded my singles first simply because I wanted them to remain as singles on Spotify and not only appear as album tracks. The website is not user friendly and does not specify what is necessary to get songs sent to stores. You can submit the tracks, but may later receive an email saying urgent changes are needed. I always had to chase them via email for an update. Nonetheless, they were successful.

Transferring the album was a whole other story!
They cannot import albums, so every songs has to be done individually.
The website was terrible, duplicating songs and removing information. Everything you would hope not to encounter, happened. I finally got in a position to submit the album after hours of work, deleting and re-adding songs. Much like the singles, after submission there were emails back and forth about progress.

First I was told the cover art was not showing on their end. Next there were duplicate songs and finally barcode/UPC issues. All of this was resolved by 01st May, but here we are, 17th July and no further forward.

They did claim the release date was missing on 10th May, the reason for the delay, but confirming this did not help!

On 28th of May they claimed to have a back log (perhaps many artists having issues despite the nice Trust Pilot rating?)....
They said they were now treating it as a matter of urgency.

Strangely, amidst the poor service, the sales guys who were aware of the issues and highlighted them via email, still had the audacity to reach out and try get me to sign up to Spotify promotion for a monthly fee (worth a couple hundred pounds!) I pleasantly declined until all my music was available :)

I reaches the 17th June (and multiple emails) before Music Gateway ask some basic questions.
1. Is it an album transfer or new album? (they knew this)
2. Please confirm all UPC and ISRC codes (they were fine!)
3. Please advise how your previous Distributor used this data for releases?

The last question is an embarrassment.
Asking an artist how you are supposed to distribute the songs...... I knew at this moment the people running Music Gateway were useless.

Strangely, the UPC issue mentioned before is related to Point 3. Tunecore UK had the UPC against all album tracks, and so, I uploaded it the same way. Music Gateway asked me to remove the UPC, and cannot get it released to stores......

There were claims they found a UPC issues on one track on 26th June even though I checked. But still not resolved 21 days later.

The email responses have slowed because they don't know how to resolve what should be simple processes for a "distributor".

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

FYI - I signed up for PRO account costing £25/month.

I have spent £100 and have almost nothing to show for it. Keep your money :)

Definety a Scam ,I enquied in to this bunch off rip off merchants ,back in 2018 ,the subcripition wasnt much ,but I got zreo from it ,next thing the subcripition for nothing goes to £150 ,they regulur try to steal £150 from my credit card and fail ,but may have suceeded in the past ,I have told them I have no subcripition with them or ever recived any service from them .Ive allso aske for a copy of any payments they have recived from me ,no reply just emails again today saying my payment as failed .

I've been working with Music Gateway for over a year now, particularly with Lee, Sam, and Léon. It has been an absolute pleasure collaborating with them through email and calls. We always manage to achieve the best possible results, and their advice is consistently excellent and honest. This is a rare quality in an industry that can be quite challenging when it comes to finding trustworthy and high-quality professionals.

I wholeheartedly recommend their service. Their response time is incredibly quick—usually within an hour. I mainly use their promotion service and not much of their internal platform or music distribution services. As an additional partner, they are a reliable support I can count on, no matter where I am in my work or album promotion process. I know they will always be there to help me reach my goals and introduce my music to new audiences. This is exactly why I love working with them.

Moreover, I have never had any issues with fake streams, which is becoming increasingly common in the industry. Even with significant investments and a high volume of streams, everything has always been genuine and seamless. No alerts, suspicions, or invalid streams—everything is 100% from real people. You can tell because the streams turn into favorites, playlist additions, and subscribers. It's incredibly satisfying to see everything fall into place after releasing an album or single, thanks to their support.

I highly recommend them. I've been working with them for over a year and plan to continue, even creating a customized plan to have their support every month. I'm truly satisfied and happy to have found a reliable partner I can depend on.

MusicGateway is your perfect all-in-one artist service provider! I signed up with MG to get some additional care and support as an independent artist / label. Their onboarding process is special, as they take the time to meet with you to discuss your story, short and long term goals, and release strategy. They were an instrumental part of the planning process for me and help align me with the best foot forward. As a result, I decided to transfer distribution of my previous two albums onto this platform and will be releasing singles / albums very frequently. Not only are the folks working there super helpful, but their platform has regular sync-based opportunities being posted, as well as day-to-day tools to assist with your various needs, including an e-mastering tool! Looking forward to growing my business and building my fanbase through MG! Definitely recommend them.

I took a free 1on1 appointment with someone there to discuss my music and promoting it, and Jon canceled the appointment saying something like I'm not at a point in my career where they can help me, which is total nonsense. He also said they don't promote on radio which is also nonsense because on their website they say they do (which is why I booked a 1on1 appointment). This guy Jon also wasn't coherent in my previous communication with him.

This seems like a very cool company, they offer a multitude of services for musicians and others.
I'm very new to them, stumbled on their site looking for sync and promo services. I will update this at a later time.

I have had a bad experience with communication with Music Gateway - quite a few bad experiences. I had left an extremely low review of them, but... I had a face to face conversation with them, and although I am still skeptical, they reassured me they will do everything they can to make it right. So as of right now, I will give them a chance.

Really lovely team. It was great to work with Lee, Leila, Leon and Sophie and their comms when I needed to ask questions were brilliant. I appreciated their support and how enthusiastic they were - really meant a lot. They explained things clearly.

The only constructive feedback is that I felt sometimes I could have been kept in the loop a bit better and some things could have been more proactive, e.g. letting me know when to check for Business Manager access requests, or letting me know when my pre-save campaign was live and what the links were — it took me asking or chasing to get these updates. When I raised this they were apologetic, professional and listened to the feedback, which was appreciated (shout out to Sophie :-) ).

Ultimately, the product wasn’t quite for me, so I only went ahead with 2 of 3 campaigns in the end, but I’d definitely recommend to up-and-coming artists who would like a diligent, expert, committed team to help make their campaigns a success, without having to do it all by themselves. Highly recommend.

releasing an album with them next month and support took 3 days to answer my initial inquiry, once the ticket is open they follow up within less than a day and actually offer detailed responses which is good. the splits are good, i would happily pay $200 and keep 100% of the masters and have fast customer support than to cheap out and use something like distrokid for $20 where the customer support doesn't even exist and there are so many issues with random song takedowns. Hopefully everything continues to run smoothly, user interface is simple and helpful. the website has a couple bugs here and there but nothing too crazy. Some of the additional services they offer don't seem to be worth the money, you shouldn't be paying 2 grand for playlist pitching that gets you a minimum of 40,000 streams (i think they have cheaper options but thats the email from the price point i got from one of the a&r's). id suggest just buying ads at that point but to each their own. But honestly if you are relying on only using their services to promo your music you're marketing strategy is doomed before it even started lol. All in all, pay the premium and keep your royalties, in todays age its worth having a real person to respond to your emails within 1-3 days, and its a non exclusive deal so if you blow up you can transfer your music to a record label if you wish

Amazing support from Jon. So far so good. They are really fast and treat you like a king. Hope to get good revenues with my songs in this platform.

The platform is very useful and user-friendly with seemingly great opportunities. Though the communication for an A&R meeting is interesting. Before anyone comes at me…. They told me that they could not help, which was fine (I have my opinions on that) but the meeting never happened, yet it was canceled 2 times.
Happening once without detailing the reason is bad enough as it is… but 2 times?
Make sure you work on your communication and stop spamming people with “possibility” if there is no actual one.

I started putting some of my music on MG for sync purposes, they offer a few interesting services to help those artists who are looking to get a sync deal and need to get to know more about this complex world. So far I can say their communication via email is transparent and helpful. I personally still need to dig a little more into this world, overall I sense seriousness in what they do.

A really well run company with great customer service, prices are a little high with the minimum available service being £450+ but it’s worth it.
