A very professional and reliable service. We able to provide lessons for me very quickly. My instructor Mike is a great teacher. Really assisted me in building my confidence and capability.

If it wasn’t for Ishtiaq Ahmed I wouldn’t have passed my Driving test with such great confidence, A big Thank you to him for guiding me and preparing me to pass my test in my first attempt, If your looking for an instructor Ishtiaq Ahmed is the man you need to go to. He’s a calm well experienced and amazing instructor, Who will make sure you drive up to the mark and keep yourself and others on the street safe.

Esther Potter was my second instructor after my first was no longer teaching. She helped me break everything down and gave great pointers before my test. I passed this week first time thanks to her.

Mr Feroz Khan is an excellent instructor. He took me on all test routes and trained me and give me all the information I needed and encouraged me. I passed my test first attempt. He is polite and friendly. I recommend him.

As my car is leased through the Motability Scheme I was given 5 hours of ‘familiarisation lessons’ in order to get to grips with the new hand controls on my new car. For the 14yrs I’ve been driving, I had an under-ring accelerator & a pushdown brake to the right of my steering wheel. My new hand controls are an over-ring accelerator & the pushdown brake was moved to the left side of the steering wheel. I was used to having to ‘pull’ the under-ring towards the steering wheel with my fingers to accelerate, whereas the over-ring required me to push the ring towards the steering wheel. While it doesn’t sound like much difference, it was a huge adjustment in terms of finding the best hand placement, figuring out how much pressure to place on the ring & maintaining speed while turning corners or going round roundabouts. In addition to these changes, my new car had a lot of technology I had never used before; many of which seemed far too intimidating to test out while getting used to my new hand controls.

When I learned to drive 14yrs ago, my first instructor was very aggressive therefore I was extremely nervous this time round. I was assigned Peter as my instructor, as soon as he got in my car and we began talking it became clear he was a very kind gentleman and that I had nothing to worry about in that regard. I was still nervous due to the hand controls being unfamiliar, however.
On my first lesson we stayed close to home driving around the housing estates until I felt comfortable going a little further out. I found it very difficult to maintain my speed in a smooth manner due to the sensitivity of the over-ring accelerator, and my braking was a bit questionable as I had never braked with my left hand! Sometimes I braked very heavily, other times I was smoother, and sometimes I wasn’t quite braking enough. Pulling off after stopping at traffic lights wasn’t very smooth; I would either pull off too quickly due to accelerating too hard, or I would crawl off slowly. I found Peter to be incredibly encouraging, patient & helpful the whole time. Eventually I felt comfortable enough to venture into town. We drove to the Boongate roundabout, a roundabout that makes me extremely nervous as I do not know where I am going/what lanes I require (I haven’t driven it much), so I let him know that I would need extra help in navigating the lanes & exits required. His approachable manner made this a breeze.
Though I was not learning to drive per se, I found him to be extremely helpful in brushing up on some better practices.

The second lesson I was expecting it to be much like the first. However, we ended up driving to Cambridge which was unexpected & fun! As I’d never used adaptive cruise control, it was the perfect way to learn how to use it. Peter showed me how to set it, and away we went. I was very nervous in terms of trusting it to bring me to a complete stop when vehicles in front stopped, but Peter encouraged me the whole time. I truly don’t think I’d have used it so soon without his guidance. Now, it is a feature I use on almost every journey. He taught me how the lane distinction worked if I tried to move over into the path of another vehicle. It was a fantastic lesson.

The final lesson we tackled the thing I was most concerned about - going up & down Queensgate car park as it’s quite difficult with hand controls. He taught me a few ways to make it easier & to my surprise it was actually easier with my new hand controls than old ones. A major thing I wanted to brush up on was parallel parking; I hated it, so avoided it. But I wanted to figure it out, especially as I have a reversing camera for the first time! Peter taught me how to do it with the camera, and without. His explanation was clear, and again he was so encouraging. I found it to be very straightforward.

Overall, I found Peter to be an excellent instructor. It is clear that he is passionate about teaching; his love of the job shines through. He was extremely reliable - always turned up when expected & if he was running late he let me know. He was knowledgeable, very friendly, easy to talk to, encouraging & approachable. While he didn’t teach me to drive per se, he taught me so much still. When I made mistakes, he never made me feel silly & remained very encouraging throughout. He explained clearly what the dangers were without passing judgement or knocking my confidence. I would highly recommend Peter; I wish I had learned to drive with him all those years ago. His approachable & kind nature is everything you want in an instructor. I never expected him to teach me how to use the new technology in my new car, and I am so glad he did. Because of this he instilled the confidence in me that I needed, and I now use every single bit of assistive technology my car came with.
He is a wonderful instructor & I cannot recommend him highly enough.

i’ve been driving with jason leaves after switching instructor in november and over the last few months he’s been very patient and made lessons which would be stressful very enjoyable and helped me a lot, was always chatty and approachable when i’ve been doubtful about my driving, great instructor!!

I had two instructors from this school and both were really knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. With the first one, the teaching approach didn’t gel with my learning style but the school found me another instructor (Hassan) with no quibbles, which I really appreciated. Hassan started working with me only a few lessons before my test but was able to pick up the teaching brilliantly and I’m pleased to say that I passed my test first time with only a couple of minors! Thanks MPL!

I learnt to drive with Peter. After a bad experience with a previous instructor, I was almost ready to give up, but then I found MPL. Peter is so kind and patient. He has an awesome sense of humour and got me through my test first time with a few minors. Finally, freedom is mine, all thanks to him. If you're looking for an instructor, you will find no better than Peter at MPL.

I would like to start with saying a massive thank you to Peter Lee for not only giving me the experience of learning how to drive but also being able to have the confidence to drive to. He would help and guide me through the parts I needed to improve on in a calm and relaxed manner he would also do it so you could remember in a way you wouldn’t forget. He is an absolute amazing person to have teach his knowledge is second to none the support he gives his students is invaluable I would highly recommend Peter Lee and MPL to anyone. I passed my driving test today with only a few minors I wouldn’t have achieved this without Peter I’m going to miss our drives.
